Wow that is an awesome video. I love people that play doubles cause i cant do it purely because of the fact that it costs twice as much as singles lol.
Anyway congrats and show us that funny vid!

I've been playing DDR for about a year now; as I recall I started Heavy around last July/August. So far I've passed six 9-footers: My Summer Love, Luv to Me (disco mix), Drop Out (Oni), Sweet Sweet <3 Magic, Fantasy and Broken My Heart. Also my AAs are Sexy Planet (Oni), Hysteria 2001, Love <3 Shine, Firefly, Let's Groove, White Lovers, and My Summer Love. Heh, you know I have a ways to go when I can still recite all of my 9s and AAs ^-^

Also I passed bag on 3x >_>
I'm working on Drop Out, and I've passed MaxX on Standard before (though it was on my first song). My local Extreme doesn't have anything unlocked so I can't play stuff like LOM and Sakura, though :ohwell:; I did get the chance to play Sakura on Standard somewhere else and it was pretty good and not too hard.

Anyway, my lack of unlocks is one of the reasons I hope Supernova is a really big hit so the arcade owner's friends will convince him that it's worth the money. Granted our machine's already pretty good except for the occasional arrow not registering, and for some reason he hasn't paid it off even though it's been there for over 2 years >_>

Hello, I'm pretty good at DDR (though I play ITG now since it's a lot more challenging and fun, I still respect DDR more though). I don't have any pictures of my scores on feet so I'll post some Stepmania finger scores. Check it.

Fury of the Storm B (this song is ridiculously hard BTW)

Quasar AAA (Arch0wl style motha*****s! Except slower :\ )

Another Quasar AAA :)

Geno's Woods AAA

the legend of MAX AAA

Sakura AAA

Another FOTS B

Waka Laka AAA (lol)

V (for extreme) AAA

I haven't played SM in a long time but I've been playing lots of ITG at the arcade. Hoping to pwn it up at the DDR thing at Anime North.

I would definitely have to say I'm better at SSBM than DDR, but I have AA'd Paranoia survivor heavy, MAX300 Heavy, and Cartoon Heroes Heavy. My hardest AAA is probably Irresistiblement Heavy. I want to know how other people are doing in getting AAA's. Any hard 9-steps or... *cringe* 10-step AAA's?

I've been playing DDR since 04, but l haven't been playing lately because I've been playing MvC2 competitively down @ my local arcade. I play once in a while, just not as much as I used to.

Selling my PS2 was only difficult because I didn't want to get rid of DDR. I sold it though, and have been DDR-less since mid October. Good news for me, though. DDR Universe is set to come out October 11th for the 360. There's also another one coming out for the PS2 this fall, and another Ultramix for the Xbox.

Well I have been playing DDR ever since fall 2004 and I'm pretty much done with my second soft pad. I haven't played much lately beacause I need a new pad but my friend has two metal pads that hook up to all the systems (even PC) and I play ALOT at his house, when I get the chance. I can do most 10-footers, but not paranoia survivor max on challenge or heavy, and max 300 only if I have alot of energy. I need more stamina because my friend recently got ITG and it's ridiculous.

No wonder you're done w/ your second soft pad dude! But yeah PSM and PSMO are just too crazy insane. They're both flashing ten-footers (if you didn't know that already), which means that skill isn't the only thing you need a lot of to win: you must have stamina, or at least someone as good as you to jump on the pad halfway through the song.

As for the computer, I had Stepmania for a long time, just downloading tons of songs. It was great (get it at stepmania.com, duh) but slowed down my computer like crazy. I had to get rid of it, but it sure was fun while it lasted and playing on the keyboard actually gave me practice for the pads--skill, not stamina...

man..i've been trying to beat Max Unlimited, but i always seem to die. Twice, i believe, i've gotten to the very end, but my legs just run outta energy. Has nothing to do w/ my reading/performing skills, lol. So it just pisses me off.
10 footers i've beaten are Sakura, Bag, Max300(once by luck), Legend of Max(once by luck), and Paranoia 270(once by luck). So i'm just trying to beat unlimited and then 290 to say i've beaten all the 10 footers on our "Extreme" machine.
outside the stamina issue, i have some physical problem w/ repeatedly hitting the same arrow fast like at the end of max 300 where its: left, left, left....right, right right...etc.
and football steps screw me up. I think it has something to do w/ my back. It doesn't hurt..but whenever i'm standing still and just bouncing from foot to foot, w/out turning, it seems like i'm holding back when i don't want to cuz my back feels uncomfortable for som reason o.O

i play stepmania occasionally. On there i do 11-13 footers pretty comfortably, though. I like Max Forever, Max Attack, Infected Mushroom songs, and junk.

i've been playing a lot of doubles lately. freckles doubles is a REALLY sexy stepchart. and hvam and daikenkai oni doubles bridge the 9/10 footer gap nicely.

played itg at acen yesterday, with none other than kyle ward. having only dabbled in itg earlier (and having played for several hours yesterday), i can say that the stepcharts are a great deal worse than they are in ddr. i don't blame it on mines or hands - which aren't implemented well, but aren't terrible either (i actually liked the mines, but i don't presume the best way to avoid them is to leap high in mid-air like i did - so my experience with them is singular) - but itg step artists don't have any regard for transfers or direction in step patterns. itg IS good for bridging the 9/10 gap in ddr - its 9's are harder and its 10's are easier. considering i can pass EVERY 9 on singles in ddr without fail, and can only pass one real ten (paranoia survivor), itg provides a convenient interim. proudest accomplishment of the day was passing charlene expert sightread - albeit with like 53%, but a pass is a pass. now i can say that i've passed an itg 11 (the easiest one, but still :p).

Comparing DDR to ITG is a no no...

Why?
The mines are just fine. Once you learn them. You won't be jumping high and ****...
Next you'll be complaining about roll :ohwell:

Charlene isn't a real 11 (Should be a ten)
Mythology is a real 11... that run'll murder ya.

Man, I agree with masked marth on itg's steps. They're all really boring... K Ward comes close to making a fun chart on some songs, but goes nuts with holds on other songs. Foy on the other hand just flat out sucks at making steps. He's still stuck in that phase everyone went through in the Stepmania community a couple years back, where it was cool to make really really hard steps that don't even go to the song (remember BeMaNiRuLeR? ).

I passed some more doubles onis the other day, World Tour being a new one. Last time I played it, I fudged up the early afronova crossovers :( Besides obnoxious courses like legend road and road of slow, I only have a few left to pass. I really wanna pass IIDX Boss, but V challenge is freaking hard to oni pass on doubles :(

i don't mind rolls either. i don't mind hands/mines/rolls in itg, it's the normal steps that suck :p

and i don't get how comparing ddr to itg is a "no-no." considering they're both four panel dance games, it's useful to understand how their different approaches to the genre compare.

Hey, hey, you know rwingy has to get up in this mix! ...I haven't paid much attention to MarioDDR or knockoff of the real breakdancing, heavy addictive, Oni ankle breaking dance game of them all Dance Dance Revolution:Extreme! Lolz--okay no trash talk coming from me here, but I will say that Max300 on Oni has never been done. EVER! I would give anyone, PAY anyone to get double AA's with a Perfect arrows in reverse on ONI.

I'll probably go and buy Mario DDR for Game Cube, my ps2 is still in storage (Going on 2 years).

The difference between DDR and ITG is that DDR is made by video game producers with a certain goal in mind. ITG is made by people who live in their parents' basement and have no talent making step charts. Anyone can make 16th note runs out of a song. DDR makes fun and challenging steps depending on what they want. The main idea is that DDR themes its songs better with a better stepchart while ITG has the same theme for all its songs, that is 16th note runs.
And no, Mythology is easy. The only 11 that I consider to be a 12 is July. July is easy, it just has a crapload of steps. Summer isn't even a 13, it's a 12. I'm pretty sure they're changing that in the next one.

Rwing Wurm, what is this max300 oni you speak of? It can't be official. If it's on an arcade mix, yeah I can do it and I most likely have a picture to prove it. I've AAAd every song on Extreme except the 10s and Burning Heat! PSMO is the only song I haven't single digit greated.

Yay, I'm now more than 50% of my way through beating all the 12s. I've done:

Go 60 Go
Hardcore of the North
Tell
!
Delirium

IMO Delirium was the hardest, but I actually beat it first.

most of the songs are like..level 7s. I'd rate 2 of them as 8s. and Bowser's castle would be a 9.

i really don't like playing on a home pad, so i just used the pad. Eventually i got a perfect score on every single song on the max difficulty.

Don't get me wrong....i absolutely L.O.V.E. the music.i wish i could download them somewhere :(
But they made it so "perfects" are very easy to get, as well. and although 28(?) songs isn't alot, you still have to consider its 28(?) NEW songs, so it wasn't that bad.
All in all...no replay value, and i'm a huge mario-music fan and tried to suck the game dry.
Not worth ur 50 bucks. If you can get it for 30, go for it!

I full combo'd the hardest song in Mario Mix on pad and controller at the same time. And I had never seen the song before in my life. It's cool and everything, but waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa*breath*aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too easy.

BTW I got 82% on Hardcore of the North Expert, and a video to prove it :D

Cyphus: I downloaded it, but the torrent is dead now and my hard drive crashed. If I ever see a seeded torrent again I'll PM you >_>
