Hey guys, its Xyro, legendary TO of the HOBO/WHOBO series and best USA Brawl Samus! Smash 4 is right around the corner and ive decided to announce our new tournament series "Texas Gaming Championships" or TGC for short. With this new series, the focus wont be solely on smash but rather many other Nintendo games as well. For now, i am offering Smash 4 on 3ds (WiiU will be added once its out), Mario Kart 8 and Pokemon X&Y but more games will be added as the series evolves.

The 1st event, The Road to TGC, is on November 1st here in Houston (Tx) at a familiar venue but will offer a combo i've never tried before. Free food and a $0 venue fee! This event is a pilot into new TGC series and i want to try many new things, TO wise, so please come on out and enjoy the new series that will bring Tx back to its former "top 4 states in the usa for smash" status.

Houston's first major Smash 3ds event, The Road to TGC, is going down in 22 days (November 1st)! Official rules and games (Mario Kart 8, Pokemon X+Y and Smash 3ds) are locked in as well as a few free perks like no venue fee and free food if you decide to go.

This new generation of Houston tournaments will forge the way for TX to become one of the absolute best states to be smashing in but it can only happen if you support us like you did during the Brawl ages with HOBO and WHOBO. So please come on out to The Road to TGC, make friends, have fun, get better, earn some PR points and maybe make a little money too. I hope to see you guys soon.

PS: ill money match any Lucina/Marth with my Lucina.

A small Road to TGC 2 update: http://smashboards.com/threads/dec-...-2-free-food-free-venue-houston-texas.370613/

Hey guys, tonight around 2am central time, the 1st Mario Kart DLC pack will be released. TGC 2 will support the DLC for its Mario Kart 8 event so it is in your best interest to get the DLC and train on the new stages before TGC 2.

To see what you get in the DLC pack, go here: http://www.nintendolife.com/news/20...around_the_legend_of_zelda_x_mario_kart_8_dlc

Also, for those of you that want early practice on the final WiiU version of smash 4, GameStop is doing a smash WiiU demo from 6pm-9pm on Nov 14th. This practice, along with the 15 days of practice after the release of Smash WiiU on Nov 21st is a decent head start in preparation for TGC 2.

To see a list of locations that have the WiiU smash demo, please go here: http://www.gamestop.com/gs/pages/events/SuperSmashBros_Demo/

The Road to TGC 2 is 12 days away and i have 2 very big updates to give you all.

1. The rules to The Road to TGC 2 have been updated. Stage list has been add. Event times have been change and a food break period has been added. Pikachu+Mr GW are legal in teams. Custom moves/miis/equipment are banned (temporarily). For a full rundown on what rules have changed, please go to the Road to TGC 2 thread and check it out.

2. Two brothers, Illmatic (the best American Peach in Brawl) and Kadin (the best Brawl Metaknight player at his pre-school) are going to do a $150 MM at The Road to TGC 2. Pikachu (illmatic) vs Diddy (kadin), 3/5 and customs legal. The set will be recorded and posted in every corner of the internet. Who do you think will win?

In 2 days The Road to TGC 2 is happening in Houston, TX. Here are some final bits of information you need to know before attending this event.

1. I am in great need of full set-ups. WiiU/Smash 4 or Mario Kart 8/TV. If you bring a full set-up, i will compensate you at the next TGC with half off venue fee or a drink coupon or something. Remember, if you want plenty of practice before/between matches, we need full set-ups. There is no other way.

2. Obeying the time slots are a MUST. I will make no exceptions this time around because i want this event to start/end on time.

Xyro arrives to set-up @ 9:00am
Registration/Practice @ 10:00am
Smash 4 1vs1 (WiiU) @ 11:30am
Smash 4 2vs2 (WiiU) @ 2:00pm
Food break @ 4:00pm (your only chance to eat without being DQed)
Mario Kart 8 (WiiU) @ 5:00pm
Leave the venue @ midnite

3. Be sure and read/be familiar with the rules to this event. Many things are different than they were at TGC 2. The more educated you are on the rules the better prepared you will be on the day of the event. The rules can be found on the tournament discussion page.

4. The weather will be in the low to mid 70s on Saturday but please bring a jacket just in case. We wouldn't want people johning about being too cold, would we?

5. Though not mandatory, it would help me out a ton if you all bring $5 and $1 bills when paying/registering for events. It speeds up registration and makes paying out players easier. Again, just a recommendation.

6. Like last time, the free food is limited to first come first served. So the earlier you get here and the earlier you get in line, the more "guaranteed" you will be to get food.

7. If you need housing before or after TGC, please contact @Sync. and or @Leaf. they will help you.

8. Finally, due to be being extremely busy today and tomorrow, i have already created the results thread for TGC 2. Please go here to further discuss this event, make predictions and check on bracket updates/results...etc. It can be found here: http://smashboards.com/threads/the-road-to-tgc-2-results-on-12-6-2014.381295/

The Official TGC event #1 has been announced for Feb 28th, 2015!! There are pot bonuses for Smash 4/Kart 8/Pokemon R&S!

Event caps, venue times, event order, payouts and other things have changed since the "Road to TGC" events so please read the rules very carefully and ask any questions that may come to mind. If you would like, you can contact me here on SmashBoards (Xyro77) or on Facebook (Allan Sims)

Important things to remember:

1. Purchase your venue fee online to guarantee your spot. Player caps WILL be reached.
2. Print out receipt/confirmation email or show us these on your phone for a smoother registration process.
3. You may only enter 3 events at max. This helps make all brackets run correctly.
4. We need 20-30 full setups. There is compensation for those who bring a full setup (Tv/WiiU/Smash or Mario Kart 8).
5. I am the best Smash 4 Samus user. Deal With It.

Hey everybody, Xyro here. I'm dropping by to remind everybody that my Smash 4 tournament series, TGC, is hosting its first official major event on February 28th 2015 at the Le Jardin reception hall in North Houston.

If the two "The Road to TGC" events taught me anything it is that these events keep getting bigger and bigger so i project that this first official TGC event will easily cap out. In order to guarantee you a spot in the venue (and thus a chance at entering events) it is highly recommended you register online as soon as possible.

For full details on registration, fees, rules, events and times, please go to the Smashboards event link
http://smashboards.com/threads/feb-...-200-pot-bonus-for-smash-4-houston-tx.384812/ or the Facebook event page
https://www.facebook.com/events/1033314033352371

And as always, if you have any questions, please feel free to ask me by posting here, on Facebook or in private message. I will always respond. I hope to see you all there :)

Hey DFW smash brothers, it's been forever since I've posted or let alone been interested in smashing in tourneys. I played a lot before the turn of the decade. I'm here in Waco, and I came up with a bit of an idea:

I have access to a good sized warehouse in downtown waco that is quite literally on interstate 35. There's lots of electrical outlets and sufficient power to run a tourney here. Would DFW be interested in me organizing something if we also got the interest of the Austin community (seeing as how I am just 100 miles away from both areas)?

We have abundant space and the building itself is a bit older, with an ancient brick wall that lends itself to a neat atmosphere. Less than 1/2 mile away there is a smorgasbord of restaurants (McDonalds, Wendy's, Taco Bell, Sonic, Fazolis, Whataburger, Subway, etc...).

Help me gauge y'all's interest in this,
thanks

Hopefully we can see like a national tournament in Waco if the scene gets big enough. Keep us in the loop about the venue, thanks :)

TGC 2 SmashBoards Tournament Page
http://smashboards.com/threads/apr-25-2015-the-official-tgc-event-2-houston-tx.394551/#post-18744580

Hey, guys! Xyro here. Houston/Texas largest tournament series (TGC) is having its 2nd event about 34 days from now. For this event, i am doing several major changes so PLEASE PLEASE read this post. It is VERY important, dont skip over it.

I have opened online registration for TGC 2 so please click here to register/pay for 1vs1 smash wiiu (be sure to include your gamer tag when you register) https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=PJ92WLG8SCW5S you also need to pay the venue fee and that can be found here http://airbrushking.net/tournaments/tgc2

So with your venue fee and 1vs1 fee paid for, you are 110% entered into TGC 2 and i will post your pool/bracket a few days before the event so that you can see who you face and be able to prepare for it if need be. If you do not pay online, you can still pay offline but you will not be seeded and you will be thrown into pools/bracket at random. This means you may play your best friend round 1.

The purpose of me doing online registration this time is to get you guys seeded into pools/brackets ahead of time so that you can walk into the venue, check-in and start playing matches much soon than before. This also means we can leave the venue earlier than before too.

One final thing, the rules for TGC 2 have gone through a MAJOR change. Wireless controller rules, stage rules and much more have changed. PLEASE read the rules asap because these changes have to do with every person entering TGC 2.

If you have any questions, please post in the TGC 2 thread on smashboards and/or in the TGC 2 Facebook group.

Introducing the Mewtwo/DuckHunt Challenge!!

Go to the TGC 2 thread and check out post #26 for more info about the challenge. While you are there, don't forget to pre-register online for 1vs1 (please include your gamer tag when registering) and venue at the top of the page so that you can be correctly seeded and placed into pools/brackets before you walk into the venue. Pre-registration will end 3 days before TGC 2. In person registration with no seeding will commence on the day of TGC 2. If you have any questions about the challenge or registration, please post in the TGC 2 thread.

So in a little while, I'll be hosting my Monthly smash tournaments again.

So I would like to know if you want to still do brawl.
I was going to do Smash 4 , Project M and Melee, but I was reluctant to do brawl but I will do it if the people want it.

Your thoughts?

MY FRIENDS, THE TIME HAS COME! The largest Smash 4 event in Texas, TGC 3, is tomorrow (6/20/2015 aka Saturday)! Please read this post for last minute info and instructions. Very important stuff.

1. I will be at the TGC venue around 9am. If you wish to be there by 9am to set-up/register/check-in/practice or chat with the LEGENDARY Xyro, please feel free. 2vs2 starts at 12pm and singles will start at 2pm. The registration/check-in lines will be long (TGC events always get 100 or more players) so the earlier you are the better things will be. Once an event starts, you will NOT be allowed to enter. I will NOT hold a spot for you. Leave your house EARLY.

2. Please please please bring a full set-up (WiiU/Tv/Ssb4) to TGC 3. The more set-ups we have the faster this event will end and the more time you will have for friendlies/MMs …etc. If you bring a full set-up you will get half of your venue fee back and/or free soda/water/energy drink. If you cannot bring a full set-up I beg you to bring anything you can. All equipment will help TGC be a better experience.

3. Though not required, bringing $5 or 10$ bills will help me out tremendously. So if you can, please bring 5s or 10s. I accept all bills though.

4. Make sure you have all the DLC (mewtwo/ryu/roy/dreamland 64/suzuka castle/miiverse) and the latest patch (1.0.8) for Smash 4. The DLC characters/stages are not REQUIRED to be on your WiiU but they are HIGHLY recommended. The patch MUST be downloaded no matter what. We would like everybody to be on the same page.

5. There is an Ike/Lucas/Wario challenge at TGC 3. If a player reaches top 5 and ONLY uses 1 of the 3 characters (Lucas/Ike/Wario) the entire tournament, I will personally hand you $50 on top of what you will make for reaching top 5.

6. Please be familiar with the rules of Smash 4 for TGC 3. The rules, events, fees, food menu and everything else you would like to know can be found here: http://smashboards.com/threads/jun-...-lucas-wario-ike-challenge-houston-tx.402642/

7. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me on Smashboards (Xyro77) or Twitter (Xyro77) or FaceBook (Allan Xyro Sims). Remember, what I type/say is the OFFICIAL word. So if you are getting mixed info from other players/users, please run it by me and I will clarify.
