****it dude.. I wish I knew all that stuff you know on Fox. I mean sure I can beat all my friends easily they dont even bother learning any pro or mildy advanced stuff.. But when it comes to facing people in tournaments it's horrible.

To think I played this game since Day 1 of Smash bros on N64 and yet to learn about this site 2 month's ago. Suck's.. but i'll keep going at it.

Anthony, you should make some videos of your hands doing advanced Fox techniques like a few threads in here are doing. It would be useful for guys like me who can't even waveshine 1/3 times.

Man, I have already written incredible long threads and e-mails, but this here is..... like crazy! But doesn't mean something bad! Seems like Fox is everything for ya! I couldn't read all of this, that would take days! But all you're saying is my opinion. If you are a hardcore-Fox-user, no one can beat you. I'm doing so. In SSBM speed is everything, so doesn't need high-power. But what makes you writing this Fox-reference book? Doesn't it take weeks to write something like this? As long as it's done for the greatest character ;P

Thanks for mentioning this, because I want to, but could you please tell me, where i exactly have to upload them? And some info about what kind of video-data it should be (type, bitrate and so on). I really want to show my skills, though it would be much greater to test it playing with others... But as Revolution comes out, I will be able! Then maybe we can do some fights? ^^

Nice

Wow, this is a really comprehensive review of Fox. Althought the beginning part is pretty useless, it's still good for show =D. I really like how you go into detail with wave dashing, movement tricks with fox, and shining especially. keep up the good work.

I think I have read this guide in its entirety 5 times. Its so good, I'm going to express my love for it in the form of Haiku.

This guide is so incredible
I owe my Fox to this guide
Thank you, I love you.

So there it is, hope that touches your heart. Lolz

Edit: I think that Haiku deserves to be with the guide, to let everyone know how special this guide is. And add a percent once you add the Haiku, thus completely this guide even further. :laugh:

This is a wonderful guide for people who are just picking up Fox. Because of you, people will be playing like Azen within the first hour of reading.. Just kidding. But seriously, they will.

96% Mark!

The percentage is obviously determined by a highly scientific, highly accurate means of measuring words and whatnot.

And such.

Anyway, character match-ups for the top three tiers (that is, the characters most likely to be encountered in tournament play) are completed. They run on average about 8-9 paragraphs each in length, with the top tiers receiving the most emphasis. That's a lot of info, folks. Naturally, the remaining 14 characters will receive more abbreviated match-up info since a) you are less likely to encounter them in tournament play and b) this really needs to be released in due time since it is a beast, to say the least. I will have the completed version up on DC++ in my shared before it is posted here since that obviously will take some time, and I may also create a Word-formatted version for looks and print-out-ability.

JFox's haiku has been added as a testimonial! ^^

Edit: 4/24/06. Mid Tier match-ups completed.

CunningKitsune said:
This is a gigantic plus for the shine. Shield grabbing is an easy yet very
effective technique, and every player can do it if they know of it. Again, due
to the shine's crazy come-out, you can intercept an arm just as it appears from
underneath its protective shield and zap the body to which it belongs, a very
useful tactic to say the least. This has the advantage of not only stopping the
shield grab but also allowing you to waveshine into a combo. Try to follow most
of your L-canceled aerial attacks with a jump-canceled shine in order to
counteract shield grabbing. It makes life so much more difficult for your
opponent and a lot easier for you. If you are adept at shining shield grabs, it
will not surprise you that you will rarely if ever be grabbed within the course
of a match (remember to rotate out if you are grabbed, though!).

What does he mean by "rotate out" of a grab?

Cunning, why does the first post not have these character match ups you speak of?? Where is the update?

I suggest you organize this a bit. Make the beginning of the guide show titles of each section, and the order they are listed in the guide, this way people can find things.

For example- this is from the Falco guide:
- Who is Falco Lombardi?
.....- About Falco
.....- Falco vs Fox
.....- Pros/Cons
- Technical Stuff I:
.....- Common Terms
- How the bird moves!
.....- Groundplay
.....- Aerial play
- Technical Stuff II:
.....- Shuffling
.....- The SHL
.....- Teching
.....- Grabbing
.....- Edgeguarding
.....- Wavedashing
.....- Final notes on the C-stick
- The Falco Technique
.....-Approachal
.....-The setup
.....-Aerial comboing
.....-Shinecombos
- How the bird plays!
.....-Mindgames
..........-Approachal
..........-Dashdancing
..........-Invincibility
.....-Other tricks
- Character Matchups
.....Marth = teh_edgeguarder
.....Fox = teh_lightning
.....Falco = teh_spiker
.....Peach = teh_dsmasher
.....Jigglypuff = teh_*****
.....Bowser = teh_fortresser
- Closure
.....-Final words
.....-Credits

I guess that I neglected to mention this, but the percentage in this thread's title refers to the progress of the version on my computer. I will be posting the entire completed update all at once. Heh, and you read my mind, JFox; that very same organizational outline has already secured its place at the head of the guide quite a long time ago, but good suggestion, nevertheless.

Graduation and approaching AP tests may make completing the final 8 character match-ups difficult, but I will try my best.
