I know these matches are old, but you put them up and wanted advice so here you go. Even if you've gotten better, I only have these matches and they're what I'm basing this stuff on.

Match 1 (marth fox FD):
- practice comboing and regrabbing and stuff more. You need the Fox to be really afraid on this stage.
- i liked the part where you ran off into fair out of his illusion lol
- you throw out nairs and fsmashes too much with nothing in mind but hitting them. With Marth, you've often got to think about what you're doing so you can get grabs and such. use fsmash sparingly, or else he'll read into it and start ****** you for it. vs sheik, a missed fsmash is sometimes your stock.
- you're too willing to get up into the air. True, Marth's aerials are good, but he's vulnerable in the air, especially vs Fox (usmash/uair). Try to stick to the ground more and be fast there. Lots of moving is good.
- try to do more sheildgrabbing/CC grabbing vs Fox. crouch cancelling into grabs is really good when they're nair SH nair spamming. you definitely need to grab more, because that's one of Marth's strong points.
- chaingrabbing is really necessary for marth on this stage. just go into training mode and practice the timing/what to do at certain percents and try to invent stuff.
- the ending was too good lol

Match 2 (marth fox FoD):
- make sure to keep moving. What you're doing a lot is moving in for an attack, then just sitting still and trying to land more utilts or something. a good example of this is at 0:12. With Marth, you don't have to move all the time, but just attacking constantly leaves you really open (ie. they can run in, sheild, grab, usmash i dunno; he's got so many options).
- i dunno lol, he picked it up towards the end and started taking advantage of your mistakes and openings. just keep in mind what i said earlier.

Match 3:
- wait this is the same match

Some non-Marth-related things:
- remember that everyone has EXACTLY two seconds of invincibility time from the time they leave the respawn platform, so count it out in your head and don't attack them until it's over. I saw you try to nair him after his first stock.
- if you see your opponent land on the stage, don't roll up. just get up quickly and try to grab.
- - you're just sort of randomly trying to throw out moves hoping they'll hit. try to focus on where you are and how to make the best of your situation.
- you guys remind me a lot of me and my friend back in like 2006 (marth vs fox, a lot of similar things in terms of playing) i dunno lol, sorry for going off topic.
- remind your friend to practice tech skill some other time than during matches. it's really awkward otherwise lol
- also tell him that the ken combo magically stops working when you hold away on the control stick

Final note: Don't take anything I say here too seriously. Remember that what's most important for your improvement is practice. Go over these matches and try to find out why you're losing, because while I can tell you all sorts of technical things, only you can have a truly intimate understanding of yourself and how you play. The game has its own language, in a way; something that can't be put into words, but you understand slowly as you get better at it. As Forward said, "Just let the game speak for itself." With experience, you will gain a true understanding.

With that said, I hope this helped you somehow :)

Thanks for the advice on me and my friend Grmo, :) appreciate it

Definatly not newb. You've got potential. I'm not quite a high level play (about the same as those vids or around there) but there were a few things that caught my eye.

-Edge guard more. There were some times where better EG skills would've gotten you a win.
-If you're up by 2 stocks ( 3you, 1him) don't be afraid to run off and spike him. The point is to show no mercy and make sure they have little chance to make a comeback.
-You're Marth just doesn't seem as aggresive as it should be. Aggression: need moar.
-I'm not sure what throw you were using whenever you threw Fox behind you, but dthrow works a whole lot better than bthrow (except for certain cases).
-Spacing could be ever so slightly improved.
-Be unpredictable. The first match I watched (don't remember which) you spammed those naris like crazy. Mix it up using dashdances for an approach.

I'll add again (2+2=fish...) *aside that* two other things I forgot to mention was more comboing. This is why we find Marth at Top Tier =). Another thing, when I start a fight with while playing as Marth, I envision a half arch showing where Marth's power is. Let me help you by making bad text art <_<

M > Marth (facing left)
|,-* > Said arch

,-*
| M

^That is where his power is at the whole game, whether in the air or on the ground. But don't take that into account with his spike. Of course when you think about it, this is where the majority of characters power is, but with Marth I think like this because his sword swings in this pattern almost all the time. I dunno, it's like trying to see the hitbox the whole match. Or maybe it's just me...

sword > sword > sword > STRONG sword!!!! best combo there is.
haha jkjk
i remember when i first started playing melee, i thought all of marths moves where the same n___n
lol, same here. As for combos, I tend to use utilt, uair (SHLCed) mostly on faster falling and heavier characters. As for floaties, go with weaker attacks so they can't DI out then finish strong. Also note I'm more experinced with FF characters.

I'm really suprised only one other person has given advice. Where is everyone? =\

Inside the hitbox of Falco's Up-Tilt.
SHLC...
hmmm..
more common term is Shuffle'd (SHFFL'd = ShortHopped FastFalled L-canceled)

chaingrab > u-tilt > regrab > u-throw > u-tilt > shffl'd u-air > f-smash
The Perfect ChainGrab :):):):)

i'm more experienced with FastFallers too. I'm the one who uses floaty in my crew n__n

you have a good marth
Some things I would work on are:
-Your chaingrabs- practice grabbing fox once and then using utilt, uthrow, and uair to get him to 50 or 60, then fsmash
-You love fair. It worked here, but some foxes might learn to jump over you and then falling nair or wd back to grab.
- You never fast fall any regular jumps just sh aerials. This could speed up your game.
-It looks like when your regular approaches don't work, you just start to fsmash a few times.. punishable
-You don't combo to the ledge much. Maybe you don't like to, but fair>fair>fair>dair works a lot at lower percentages.

LOL grmo ***** this thread...but ur marth *****...its good honestly...my advice personally is dont spam ur nair to much...try using ur tilts more like a Fair to Utilt or Fair to a poke...ummm...try not Fsmash a lot to...cuz he has a lag not a big one instead trying using ur Ftilt more)..but for good players..its a chance for them to get u..and use ur grab more...take advantage of that...marth has awesome grabs especially against fox so practice using ur grabs more in battle. ummm....thinking...oh ur edge hogs and edge guarding is good..but for future references, try learning how to wavedash and fast fall on the ledge, u can get to the ledge faster if something happens like instead of fox using his Up-B going in the ledge he'll forward-B im just saying it cuts time away from them...if anything else...umm...just ur basic stuff to practice like L-cancel, grab cancels, pivot grabs, double fairs..a lot of those things u can practice to help give ur marth more of a variety to it but dont spam them, u have the rite mind set which is good...the entire match looks like u kept ur focus, but other then that ur good.

Good luck
