So does auto-battle actually work? I dunno, it feels unreliable for the later stages.
What you do is autobattle on one of the lower difficulties. It's unreliable and not very stamina efficient, but it's far less tedious than doing it manually. I did most of the trial by autobattling, and I still managed to get every last reward.

Following the guidance provided by the RNG Goddess, I am currently on Team Soren. There are plenty of multipliers, plus, the team seems pretty small, so ranking is easy. That'll be good for feathers!

I did it on the Lvl. 30 Hard tier, and it worked fine. My team of Tiki, Ike, Brave Lucina, and Deirdre would usually be able to complete it just fine, netting a score of 441 per run. It helps to do it with strong characters that have skills to restore their HP, like Aether. I thought about giving Tiki one of the healing skills, like Sol or Noontime, but she usually was fine because of her crazy Def stat.

Doing it like this was actually also a lot faster than doing the harder runs manually too, I think.

Definitely saves on the tedium of it. It's a nice feature, I'm glad they added it.

I was wondering if anyone wants to add me to their friend list, my code is 2916382323. I'm currently supporting Takumi, but if you just want to add me that's fine!
Just let me know if you added me and I'll add you back. My current lead is Sigurd, but I'll change him to Ike or someone else if he's not too helpful.

I disagree with Effie being S+ Tier. I mean, she CAN be S+ Tier with Skill Inheritance, but so can (mostly) everyone tbh. But that's not my main point. My main point is that the only thing Effie really has going for is high Def and Wary Fighter. Something Zephiel also has, except i'd sooner make Zephiel an S+ Tier instead of Effie because at least Zephiel has a Legendary Weapon.

Both are amazing with Distant Counter, of course, but Zephiel will hit harder.

If you notice, everyone you listed has Legendary Weapons except for Effie and Amelia. But Amelia, i'd rank S+ Tier because of Armor March.
I ranked Effie in the S+ tier because of her absurd attack stat and she runs two effective skillsets.
Her default kit is incredible; all she needs is a Brave Lance, a special like Bonfire, and either an armor support skill or Threaten Defense and she's good. These skills combined with the default Death Blow and Wary Fighter makes her scary to deal with. It's hard to OHKO her and she can retaliate on the next turn.
Her other skillset, and most likely her better one, involves Distant Counter and Quick Riposte; she was even able to survive a +Attack Death Blow Reinhardt and kill him.

She's in a class of her own and I think she'll be a permanent member for many Armor Emblem teams.

As for Zephiel, I would rank him a bit high... maybe A to A+ tier. He has more bulk and one more point of attack than Black Knight, but he suffers from his speed stat and his legendary weapon is mediocre. Black Knight outclasses Zephiel by having an amazing speed stat (meaning he can run something other than Wary Fighter, which is incredible), Distant Counter built into his weapon (freeing his A slot), and Black Luna.

Ah ok. I remember doing the auto-battle thing but feeling like i wasn't getting enough points unless i did Lunatic. But i'll try it again in the next Tempest.

I can see that argument, yeah. Though i've never seen a Distant Counter Effie yet.

I have encountered one just this morning and she was difficult to deal with. Her budget set is effective, but Distant Counter makes her more scary as an enemy phase unit. I think she also had Ridersbane, so this one was made specifically to check Reinhardt.

Distant Counter is a very rare skill for obvious reasons, but I know several units do benefit from it (Effie, Eldigan, Ayra, and Amelia just to name a few).

Wait, Eldigan? How does he benefit from it? Aside from the obvious "can counterattack at range".

I'll go ahead and put out my ID too: 7672157243. Same user tag used on Smashboards and Discord. My avatar hero is Anna.

Please feel free to add me for whatever purpose. Having more friends is never a bad thing. As such, a friend request has been sent to @Xeno610.

With his bulk, he can check archer units not named Brave Lyn and can even check magic units.
I personally wouldn't give him Distant Counter, but it's a popular skill to give him. He can basically be like Xander, a more offensive Xander that is.

Not Fire Emblem but who here watched the Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Direct? Here are my thoughts
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Direct recap
  • We got some backstory on the world of Alrest. Everyone lived on Elysium but then they got banished and sent to live on the Titans. However, even the Titans don't live forever and it looks like the main objective of the game is find a way back to Elysium.
    • Living in paradise and then banished, where i have i heard this story before...
  • Japanese voice pack confirmed. So, for those of you who complained about the English dub, you're saved. Personally, i lik the English dub but now there's an option for everyone.
  • Story trailer. It looks very cool and there may have been a spoiler there but putting spoilers in their trailers is a Xenoblade thing appearntly. They did it with XC1, they did it with X, and now they're doing it with XC2.
  • The spoiler is that Pyra has a form called Mithra. On a gameplay standpoint, Pyra can switch between Mithra at any time, effectively giving Rex four Blades at a time (Pyra/Mithra+the other 3 Blades). Pretty cool.
  • Zeke and his Blade, Pandoria are the newly revealed playable characters. Zeke definitely has my favorite design of the party. He's the black-clothed, eyepatch guy seen in the trailers and wallpapers.
  • They also showed off some of the villains.
  • Whenever a unique monster is defeated, a tombstone will appear when they fell. By visiting these tombstones, you can challenge them again. I think that's a really neat touch and it's better than having to wait for the unique monster to respawn like in previous games.
  • Map in your way? Art names in your way? You can customize the UI to remove these to take in more of the scenery.
  • As Poppi is an artifical Blade, she can be customized with special parts. You ca acquire these parts by playing a special retro Nopon mingame. My only worry is that Poppi will be to customization to the point where Tora never has to switch out.
  • Three different types of combos: Driver Combos, Blade Combos, and Fusion Combos. I'm loving this combat system more and more.
  • DLC confirmed. I can already hear the salt but i will say, it's basically following Breath of the Wild's DLC. The game will be supported with DLC all the way up to Fall of next year. It contains:
  • Some new items
  • New quests
  • New Rare Blade (i actually don't like this part)
  • New Challenge Mode
  • Brand new story.
  • The brand new story has me really hyped.
  • Biggest surprise though is that on Nov.9th, Breath of the Wild will receive a free update. It contains a quest and, upon completing it, you'll recive Rex's clothes for Link to wear. This cross-promotion is really cool.
  • Heart-to-Hearts still exist but the more time a Driver spends with a Blade, the more abilities the Blade gets.

And here's some newly revealed artwork of the game (SmashBoards, i swear, if you don't show them, i'm gonna MUDA MUDA someone for an hour).

She is best girl

He looks amazing. Can't find Pandoira's official art tho

She's the Blade of that one lady with the dual rapiers

My team bst is high enough in rating that I run into armor emblem all the time. Distant Counter Effie is terrifying and surprisingly common in Ward Armor teams.

Ah, I forgot about that direct. I'll have to go watch it. It's almost a shame there's so many games coming out. I still haven't picked up Samus Returns or Mario Odyssey, and I'll probably wait on Chronicles to.

...Look at me, prioritizing Missed Opportunity Warriors over Mario Odyssey. No shame, no regrets.

Edit: Okay, just watched the direct. Here's my thoughts on it.

I'm not a fan of the character design at all. Rex and Pyra I especially dislike, which is a shame, considering they're the main characters. And we might not be able to change the clothing blades wear, which would mean that Pyra is going to be stuck in that silly outfit.

Combat looks like eh. I'm not a fan of Xenoblade style combat at all, really. Customizing skills is fun, but actual battles don't feel as strategic when you only control one character out of a party. It strikes a weird balance of action RPG and turn based RPG combat that doesn't really mesh well in my opinion. But I guess that I'm the minority in this.

...On the other hand, the world still looks like an absolute joy to explore. That's what sold me on X, and it might just sell me on 2 here. I might get the game just for that. BotW has been out for almost a year now and I still can't believe the Switch is able to handle games like that in handheld mode. It's crazy.

If i may offer my perspective on the matter...
I'm actually really like the character design in this game. I know Rex's design looks silly but it does actually make sense when you consider that he's a Salvager who dives under the (cloud) sea. Pyra, i won't argue. I like her design but i know it's probably the most controversial one. I do like Mythra's design more. I like Rex and Pyra's designs, but the other characters do have better designs. Zeke's design is my favorite of the playable characters and the villains have good designs as well. They even got Tetsuya Nomura, character designer of Final Fantasy, to design some of the villains. Then there's the Rare Blades, who each have a unique design due to them being designed by various artists from across Japan. I'll link to a gallery of that here.

As for the combat, well, i can't speak of how it was in X, as i've never played. But in the original Xenoblade Chronicles, the combat was just mashing Arts. At least up to a certain point. Once you reached about Makna Forest is where strategy starts to really kick in.

Regarding Xenoblade Chronicles 2, i do like how your other party members won't use their Specials unless you tell them to, so there is a feel of teamwork there. It definitely does look to be more strategic than XC1, thanks to the Blade mechanics.

And yes, i have to agree with you on the world. Xenoblade Chronicles was always full of beautiful environments and XC2 continues that trend. Everything we've seen about XC2's world is so gorgeous and i can't wait to explore it.

I heard Xenoblade talk so I decided to join in.
Reposting from another thread because laziness.

I kind of wish they didn't spoil that one bit at the beginning, even though Xenoblade trailers have had spoilers in the past.
Watch that happen within 3 hours of the game and being as much of a spoiler as saying "Fiora dies" or "Roxas is Sora's nobody".

As for the characters, I think the cast so far looks a bit interesting. I'm still not a fan of Pyra's design, but I think Mythra looks a bit better. (As for Rex's design, since I haven't said this before, I, surprisingly enough, don't mind Rex's design that much. Must be because it somewhat reminds me of Sora and I've recently become a huge fan of KH) Zeke has my favorite design outI of the main protagonists so far. I really like the designs of the villains in this game (totally not biased because Nomura) and they look like they could be interesting.

The world in the game looks pretty nice.

Being able to rematch Unique Monsters at their graves is really nice.

I'm really liking how much depth there is in terms of how the Blades function. I especially like how Poppi can get stronger by playing that one minigame that they showed off.
The depth of the combat as well seems to be pretty interesting.

The BotW costume is kind of cool.
As for DLC, I'm fine with it since BotW had it as well (I haven't played BotW's DLC yet, but the only problem I have with BotW DLC is if it's for a limited time, which I don't think it is, so I think XC2 should be no different).

It's really just a matter of my personal taste, I guess. None of the characters they've shown have really resonated with me. In my eyes, they're okay at best and silly at worst.

I guess I do kind of like Dromarch, but I have a huge bias towards animals.

Edit: I do want to mention, though, that I'm not so shallow as to let character design hijack my opinion of a character. I really don't like Lissa's design at all, but she's still one of my Awakening favorites. I might end up really liking Xenoblade 2's cast if I give it a chance.

Voting Gauntlet news:

Team Takumi beat Team Karel after a hard fought yet great battle. Takumi also got a key multiplier in the end to help secure the victory.

Last time I checked about an hour ago, I was in the top 2000 for Team Takumi, the highest I ever placed in a Voting Gauntlet. This was the first Gauntlet where I went all out with using flags; yeah, I was that motivated with participating in a Gauntlet compared to past ones.

All in all, great job with the first round victory, Takumi!

Meanwhile....
  • Amelia defeated Katarina in a hard fought battle.
  • Hinoka lost to Shanna in a very close battle.
And now the big shocker:

Remember the massive shocker in the last Gauntlet that led to quite the upset when Lyn beat Camilla at the very end? Same thing happened again with Ryoma vs Soren. Turns out Ryoma had a major edge with the number of teammates on his team, and he had a strong lead throughout it, but then Soren got the key multiplier at the very end to beat Ryoma in the final minutes!

Thus, the semifinals are looking like this:

Amelia vs Shanna
Takumi vs Soren

I predict Takumi vs Soren will be the main highlight of this Gauntlet, and I have a feeling it will be one heck of an epic battle!

Guess this means I must lend even more of my strength to support my man. Let's go Takumi! Avenge your fallen family members!

Well now... I got my first free 5 star summon with Elise. It's not the first time my first summon was a 5 star, that happened on the Ike banner with Olwen, but I'm impressed that I managed to get her again!
This Elise is marginally better than my other one, and by marginally I attracted yet another -Attack Elise. She is +Res, so I merged her with my +Def one. Well... looks like one of my Gennys will live for now.

I can't say I'm surprised by Soren beating Ryoma. When I saw the multiplier, I knew Soren had a chance to beat the High Prince of Hoshido. Using the multiplier to his advantage is a thing Soren would do. I am happy that he won because now Takumi has a better chance at winning!
Hopefully we can bring him to the finals! GO TAKUMI!

Free DLC update for Warriors.
https://twitter.com/FireEmblemMusou/status/928131701598928896
We get damaged armor sets, a new History Mode map, and new costumes for the twins. Oh, and the JP version gets English dual audio.

Oh, and after watching the XC2 Direct, i knew i had to make this

Amelia defeated Katarina in a hard fought battle.
Oh RIP. Well then, i'll just side with Amelia then.

Though, tbh, i'm kinda losing interest in Voting Gauntlets. Maybe it's because school prevents me from participating regularly but i only did one match in the first round.

So that free Warriors update looks...interesting.

Apparently the armor damage effect is only applied when you get a crit with a specific weapon skill, and it does lower the enemy's defense. So it's like Sophie's personal skill, I guess. I'd be a lot more disappointed if this wasn't a silly Warriors game. I hated using Sophie, despite liking her character design, because I could unequip her personal skill and the joke stopped being funny really quick. But this is optional, and it's fine.

I do like the twins' new costumes. Heck, I actually kind of like Rowan's design in this color scheme.

Edit: Oh, it looks like enemies might be able to destroy your armor even without having that weapon skill. Okay yeah whatever.

Voting Gauntlet news:

Victory has been achieved for Team Takumi in the semi-finals! It was quite the heated battle against Team Soren, but Takumi prevailed, even getting a multiplier at the end to give him an edge. He has successfully avenged his brother's loss!

Meanwhile, Shanna managed to beat Amelia in a surprising victory.

Thus, the stage is set for the finals: it's Takumi vs Shanna!

Time to bring home the gold, Takumi! We're in this together!

Shanna beat Hinoka, my second pick, in the first round. She beat Amelia, my first pick, in the second round.

She better win this for that, danggit. I'm hopping on Team Desperation now for hopefully what is the funniest upset in gauntlet history.

A brand new FEH channel is coming on November 14.
Honestly I expect something big to be coming. The fall log-in bonus is just odd to me. Why have a fall log-in bonus when there is one month of fall left? Sure it was so that F2P players won't get deprived of Orbs, but it made me suspicious. I am expecting another "power creep" banner to happen, one with Radiant Dawn units. I believe we are getting Radiant Dawn units for how popular Micaiah is and her calendar was released this month.
But that's not the only thing I expect... I think Hero Fest 3 is coming soon. It seems about time to have another one. From the Katarina banner to now, I think we'll get a Hero Fest banner with Sigurd, Innes, Nephenee, and Sonya.
No Brave Heroes: I feel like they want to make the Brave Heroes much harder to obtain than any other unit. These are some of the most powerful units and I feel like the next time they're in a banner will be much later down the road.
Sigurd: Elincia is on a banner again, he's a popular character, and he's a very powerful unit. I bet people who missed him will come here to get him. Ayra is a close second for the red spot.
Innes: Other than Brave Lyn, has there been any other good 5 star exclusive non-seasonal colorless unit in the past few months?
Nephenee: No Tana so that there isn't a second Sacred Stones character and Nephenee is a unit with a pretty good skill in Wrath. If people aren't pulling her for her character, they are pulling her for Wrath.
Sonya: We currently have two Armor March units on banners with Amelia and Halloween Henry. I think Sonya will reappear for how popular she is and she's an all-around good unit.

As for the Voting Gauntlet... GO TAKUMI! I hope he wins this...
I'm surprised Shanna made it this far. I guess that's the power of the multiplier.

How was Shanna not eliminated in round 1? How did Soren beat Ryoma? The world will never know.....

Simply put, their teams used the last minute multipliers to their advantage. The multiplier was the reason why Camilla beat Lyn; if it wasn't for that multiplier and the fact that Lyn didn't get one afterwards, then Camilla would've lost.
Honestly, the last hours of the Gauntlet matter the most. 90% of the time the team with the multiplier at the very end will win. If neither has a multiplier, than it comes down to popularity and the size of the teams.

This might be a close final round. Takumi isn't clearly winning like Ninian was.

I feel like it's about time for them to announce a new game mode, even if its not releasing just yet. We haven't had one since Arena Assault, and a lot of people feel like the game is starting to get a little stale.

Personally though, I'm really anxious about the next banner. I really hope they learned from all the Ayra backlash and don't powercreep the heck out of any of the new characters.

I feel like it's about time for them to announce a new game mode, even if its not releasing just yet.
What new modes could they announce though?

I'm honestly just waiting for the story to be updated beyond just one chapter.

Well, I could throw all sorts of ideas at the wall, but it's difficult what they will make. The game could probably benefit from an infinite grind mode, maybe like the Tempest Trials but permanent. Obviously they wouldn't give orbs as a reward, since we'll probably never get an inexhaustible supply of those. Or maybe something a real reason to have a friends list (aside from the occasional Voting Gauntlet, that is). The game is still young and there's still all sorts of things they could do with it.

Even if they don't reveal something right now, I'm sure they're working on something. And I bet they already have plans for Chapter 2 as well. Maybe we'll see that at the 1-year anniversary.

On a completely different note my phone broke. RIP. Time to beg my sisters to let me use their phones for my daily orbs.

Extremely Important Edit: Shanna won the Gauntlet and she didn't even have a multiplier in the last round.
Best. Gauntlet. Ever.

Welp...

This was the first Gauntlet I actually took seriously, using up all my flags every round and using them strategically during multipliers. In the end, it came down to a very close victory for Shanna.

Man, I was really hoping my man Takumi would win, especially in the finals when he could've avenged his sister's loss as well. Alas, it didn't happen.

Looks like Ike still remains the only Fire Emblem male character to ever win a Voting Gauntlet.

Still, this was one heck of an epic final battle. Congrats to Shanna and her fans! Both teams really did give it their all.

I don't think I'll take a Voting Gauntlet this seriously again... unless Takumi shows up in a future Voting Gauntlet.

I want to see more Gauntlets like this. even though i didn't really participate in this one (i stopped after Katarina lost), it's still incredibly satisfying to see Shanna vs Takumi play out. Mainly because we've never had a battle that was this close since Ephraim vs Chrom and no, i'm not counting battles that were affected by the multiplier (like Soren vs Ryoma).

Whatever the next Voting Gauntlet is, i hope it has battles on the same level as Ephraim vs Chrom and Shanna vs Takumi.

I'm waiting to see how the Gauntlet memes will depict Shanna vs Takumi.

Well, this was the most random assortment of characters for a gauntlet, with a really quite unexpected outcome! Go Shanna! I didn't get the opportunity to support Amelia, so I was Team Soren and then Team Shanna. Although I wasn't terribly involved in this gauntlet, since I finally have a Switch and Fire Emblem Warriors! Might be a little late to the party, but Warriors really is quite fun. The story is pretty cliche and laughable, but that's besides the point. The gameplay is quite enjoyable. Also looking forward to finally getting to check out Breath of the Wild!

As for the Voting Gauntlet, that was actually a really intense final bout. Shanna went from pulling in about 150 million points/hour all the way up to pulling in 1.16 billion points in the final hour! No multiplier! Takumi was pulling in around 200-300 million points per hour, but apparently they didn't have as many flags, and, once the competition scaled up, they flagged behind, only pulling in 956 million in the final hour. I really wasn't expecting Shanna to pull it off, but wow! That's been one of the most fun gauntlets in awhile!

The SerenesForest community seems to be quite divided over this Voting Gauntlet finals. One half is salty over Shanna's victory and blaming the multipliers, while the other half is praising this Gauntlet finals as one of the best finishes around.

But amidst this division, the fanart has started, and already, we have a very sweet image of the two:

The two really did give it their all indeed. Now, they deserve some good rest.

Multipliers are kind of dumb mechanic but its not like the Voting Gauntlet was an amazing idea from the start. I find the fact that Shanna won historical, and that's more exciting to me than the super predictable gauntlets of old.

Even though Amelia lost in the semi-finals, I'm happy that Shanna won the gauntlet, whom I wasted no time putting my vote for her simply because I hate Takumi. No offense.

Well...
I am admittedly disappointed by the results, but it was still a close one. Congrats to Team Shanna for winning the Voting Gauntlet... hopefully Takumi wins the next one.
Just don't insult each other. Don't insult Shanna for winning and don't insult Takumi for losing. I hate Voting Gauntlets for the amount of salt and bickering that goes around.

I'm glad we have a nice, wholesome image of the two.
