• You choose between Rowan and Lianna as the main character for story mode. The one not chosen becomes an NPC on stages (you might be able to play as the other on some stages though)
• At least for as much as they played (just the beginning parts), which character they chose didn't seem to have a huge effect on the game
• They said their playstyles are different, and that Lianna seemed lighter/slightly quicker than Rowan
• You can change from Classic to Casual, but you can't change back from Casual to Classic
• There will be three difficulty modes to choose from (not Casual and Classic)
• The early parts of the game feature the twins, Chrom, Frederick, Robin, Lissa, and Cordelia
• The story and animations are supposedly very interesting and good, and they said "the battles might not even be the best part of the story mode"
• The weapon triangle might not be too noticeable in the beginning, but later on you might find that "man, this enemy is tough!" Better use of the weapon triangle later on is key
• They tested how weak fliers are to arrows, because they thought surely fliers can't be as weak as in mainstream FE Games.
  • They were wrong haha, one arrow to Cordelia brought her close to death, and another took her out (said resemblance to original FE games is scary)
• Frederick can dash at high speeds and mow down enemies while moving
• Quotes and such from the main series will be in (like how Frederick doesn't like bear meat and as we already saw the pebble talk)
• When two characters do a dual special attack, they may say quotes. For example if Lissa and Frederick do one together, Frederick will say "I will protect you, Lady Lissa"
• Thieves with keys will appear on the battlefield sometimes and loot treasure chests like in original FEs

I mean, it's not like people play Warriors games for the story anyway. When i hear people talk about Warriors, it's always about the gameplay. Story is rarely brought up, if ever.

Oh, yes, definitely. I'm probably going to make fun of the story a bit when the game releases, but I probably won't actually be angry about it. I'm just a little bit upset they're trying to get everyone hyped over the story. It's a good thing they don't seem to be getting people excited over that, because last time it did work (Fates), the backlash was really nasty.

But hey, maybe I'm wrong and the story will somehow be incredible. I seriously doubt it, but it could happen.

I doubt the story is going to be anything special, regardless of what games are involved. I doubt people played Hyrule Warriors for the story, and I sure didn't care about it.
I doubt this story will be anything special. Unless the writing is on par with Xenoblade or Persona 5, I don't expect much.

As far as story goes, well yeah. It's KOEI (pretty much a **** game company imo). I can't speak from crossover games but they're known for screwing characters up in DW. No better than Fire Emblem in the story department. Though I heard they did an magnificent job in Spirit of Sanda recently.

That's still unimportant compared to their iconic hack and slash though, which more than enough makes up for it.

I actually only want Innes from this banner, despite recently playing Sacred Stones. As much as I like Seth, I am disappointed with how he's a glorified Stahl from the looks of it...

I'm surprised Joshua and Lute are not a part of this banner considering how well they did on the Choose Your Legends poll, but hey, I'm glad we're getting Seth and Innes in this. Tana is also worth getting too for Moonbow.

Here's hoping we get another Sacred Stones banner in the future featuring Joshua and Forde!

Yeah, i was really surprised to see him wielding a Ruby Sword of all things. Especially since i always associated Seth as a Lance-user.

I'm glad we're getting Seth and Innes in this. Tana is also worth getting too for Moonbow.

Don't forget Amelia, who is the first Armored unit we've gotten in the game since Zephiel.

I think I've expressed how much of a SS fanboy I am in this thread a few times. I'd be happy with any of the characters from this banner, but here's to hoping for Amelia in particular for those monthly armor quests.

Edit: I actually got her! And yikes...they really did give her that villager/trainee bst boost. Her maxed out stats are terrifying. Mine is a +HP/-Res, so she can make the most out of Earth Boost to. Well, I guess it's time for me to 5-star Zephial to make use of armor march.

I spent some money and I got the character that I wanted, Innes! Unfortunately he has a minus speed IV, but he is plus attack. He will require a lot of investment to make good and I don't think I'll use him for a while for that reason.
I'm not hurting for Tana, Amelia seems interesting but I don't like Armor Emblem, and Seth... what did they do to Seth?
Hopefully Lute will be added in a later banner. I will definitely whale to get her.

I guess they gave him that to make getting a Ruby Sword easier since there is no one at 5 star rarity that has that, other than making Stahl or Hinata 5 stars.
Unfortunately, making him Ruby Sword and Fortress Defense fodder is all that he's good for. Despite being a monster in SS capable of soloing the game, he's easily the worst unit on this banner.

Man, I've been having absolutely terrible luck with summoning all month! I was dumping all my orbs into the Nohrian Summer banner in hopes of pulling Summer Corrin, but instead have just driven the pity percent up to 4%. I took a break from that to try summoning either Ninian or Julia from the Hero Fest banner, but that's been driven up to almost 6% now. Doesn't seem like I'll be afforded the opportunity to get to summon from the Sacred Stones banner at all, even though I'd really like to get Amelia or Tana...

Hope everyone's been having better luck than me!

I'm a free player, and I've never rolled a Hector even once - much less twice. I think Zephiel will still be viable with the help of Amelia's armor march, however. That low movement is the thing that really holds most armor units back.

Yeah, that's what I meant when I said I was pulling for Corrin. I only summon from the colors that have the focus character I want; I actually don't remember the last time I've done a full summoning set. Probably early spring? I have plenty of characters, so I want to maximize my chances of getting the ones I specifically want most. It also maximizes my chance of getting more Subakis. Ugh, so much Subaki...

As expected of the Radiant Hero, he is pretty powerful as a unit.

I cracked today I dropped 20$. I know I've mocked the orb prices time and time again, and while I do still think they're overpriced, I just really had to get this out of my system. I blame the timing of the banners - the temptation to try my luck on the Sacred Stones and the summer banner was killing me. It was hard to decide if I should throw my orbs into the Sacred Stones banner to try to snipe for S!Corn while she was still available, so I decided to spend all my free orbs on the SS banner and use payed orbs for sniping.

Much to my surprise, I actually got her. She's -Speed/+Defense, but she's still salvageable with flier emblem buffs. It'll probably only be for a little while, but I feel a lot less pressure to spend money on this game now. I'll give it a month or two before I start getting tempted to spend money again.

Yeah, thats how gacha works. But I'd honestly just waited till the banner runs out.
But then again... choose your legends banner comes soon, and I only have 22 orbs saved...

Interesting thing i just found out. So you know the four Cipher mascots (Emma, Shade, Randal, Yuzu)? Looks like they'll be getting two new allies in the form of Alice and Valjean.

She's got a pretty nice design. Because of her appearance, i thought she was Jugdralian (the new Cipher series is focusing on Thracia 776, Heroes, and Fates again) but she's actually from Fatesland. She appears to be a Strategist.

He's Valjean and he's the one who's Jugdralian. And this design is uh...interesting. It looks sci-fi. Heck, he looks like Fudor from Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Here's Fudor for comparison

Now that i think about it, Valjean also reminds me of Silver Chariot, Polnareff's Stand from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure

I actually thought Valjean was a tease from FE16 because of how unique his design was. He's a Sword Knight but he looks so different from anything we've seen. But he's obviously not an FE16 tease.

Interesting thing is that he's Alice's retainer, despite the two being from completely different worlds.

But is Valjean even human? Every other Knight we've seen, we see their face. We don't see Valjean's face. Is he human? Is he a magic robot. I'm headcanoning the latter because him being a magic robot would be really cool.

Anyway, what are your thoughts on these new additions to the Fire Emblem cast?

I know i said Alice was from Fatesland and Valjean was Jugdralian, but they might also be from Zenith, making them Heroes OCs. Because these two are also listed in the Heroes catagory for the new Cipher series. But then Alice is also listed for Fates and Valjean is also listed for Thracia. But not the other way around. I'm confused. Guess we'll wait and see.

Either way, i suppose these two will be playable as DLC characters in FE16. Or, if they are Heroes OCs, then we'll see them in Heroes, hopefully.

Ugh, my bad luck continues. I didn't manage to get anything from the Summer Fest banner, despite spending a ton of orbs on it. I just went into the summer banner, and there were no blues. I pulled from a green, really hoping not to get a 5*, but, if it had to be a 5*, perhaps a Summer Elise, since she's a good green mage. NOPE. Got a Summer Xander instead, and now my 4.25% pity rate is reset. Sigh.

At least I did get a 5* Odin from the free summon on the Blade banner, so if I ever do manage to pull the elusive Summer Corrin, I can immediately give her Blarblade+.

My free Summon gave me a +atk -def Seto Kaiba. (Innes)

He is now the 4th member of my best team, and I haven't lost since.

+Spd -Hp Julia with distant defense. She survives whole matches without taking damage!
+Def -Spd Azura, gave her swordbreaker, and called it a day.
+Atk -Def Innes, aka Seto Kaiba, aka I really love this dude. He is so stupid strong and fast, and he has the first legend bow that doesn't suck.

All in All, I love this team. I just wish I had Swift Sparrow for Celica.

Will they release a banner with only sword-users, or give them each an interesting twist? Like Roy a dragon, Lynn an archer, Ike axe-wielder and lucina with a spear? (Since tome-cina kinda excists already)
