Another problem is they keep making lords the same old super nice agile swordfighter. its why hectors my favourite lord in fire emblem as he has an interesting personality and plays differently to all other lords.
Well, to be fair, swords are traditional and historic symbols of military leadership and noble office, both in the West and the East. They're, of course, weapons of war, but they would also be used in ceremonies and would be worn as part of a uniform, or to indicate a noble office. So it's rather expected that lords would wield swords as their weapon of choice.
That said, it would be nice if they added more flavor to the personality of the main lord. Ike had more character being a mercenary, and he played more like Hector, focusing more on strength. It would be nice to have an even larger deviation from the traditional FE formula than those two.
I guess my problem with Corrin is that he has all the problems of an avatar AND of a lord. He's Robin mixed together with Eliwood, and the world revolves around him to an even greater degree than either of those two. I don't mind Eliwood, and while I don't like Robin he isn't that bad, but with Corrin its just too much for me. It completely breaks the illusion for me and I can't take him seriously as a character at all.

I for one want to see more lords with legendary spears, we've seen that most lords can wield spears and swords but I would like to see the spear as a main (divine) weapon and the sword as a secondary referencing being apart of a uniform or indicating noble office like you said. Heck it would be cool to see a protagonist use a cool weapon like Bölverk (Garon's Axe).
Magic Boon won't hurt Kana's potential. I married Corrin with Azura in my Revelation playthrough, and even with Corrin's Magic boon, Kana still performed very well because of the growths Azura passed down. The Magic boon can also benefit Kana's Dragonstone potential while still keeping the Strength stat at acceptable levels.
As for the amiibos, I don't own a Lucina amiibo, but Marth performs pretty well as a unit.
Yeah, after messing around with the online growth calculator for Kana, it seems like she functions pretty decently as either a Hoshido Noble or a Nohr Noble with the Magic Boon. I'm kind of torn about who to make her mom, though, as I could either go for offensive healer Hoshido Noble with Sakura or Azura, or I could go full on caster with one of the magic moms.
Oh, and for those who may be curious; I ended up going +Mag/-Lck Nohr Noble Corrin with Dragon as my talent, mainly so I could get the awesome skills Malig Knight offers.

Ephraim's main weapon was a lance, and he had Siegmund. We've had lords who could use swords, lances, axes, dragonstones, and magic. It's about time for a change, and it's pretty obvious what the next lordly focus should be. I'm sure we can all agree that this is a great idea: the next lord definitely needs to be staff-locked. Wouldn't that be awesome? They could do awesome things like go around curing people and getting OHKO'd by the enemy.
I really want a Bow-exclusive Lord. That would be great. Actually no, this would be great: A Lord who uses only his fists. We need a fist fighter in Fire Emblem. Their "weapon" would be stuff like brass knuckles or punching gloves. Some of them can be elemental.

So i have a question for all of you. If you remember Awakening's development, you might remember that it was originally going to take place in Mars. So the question is: Would you play a futuristic Fire Emblem game?

Ok, so i was watching a video called Character Main Stereotypes Part 5, and i think i found you in the comments section. Is this you?

I'd probably give it a try if it's any good, but I'd still much rather FE kept its fantasy setting.
I wouldn't have issues with a spin off of that style, though. TMS#FE is already ridiculously crazy, so a spin off that takes place on Mars doesn't sound so far fetched.

Charlotte is actually capable of fighting only with her fists. In her A-Support with Xander, she takes down an entire hoard of Faceless using only her hands, to which Xander asks, "Why you even carry an axe?"
But yeah, I'd love to see a fist fighter in Fire Emblem some time.

That would be pretty cool to see. I think Intelligent Systems did a great job adapting feudal Japan into the Fire Emblem world, so I think it'd be neat to see them try some sort of futuristic theme, but instead of using guns, maybe they all use cyber swords, cyber lances, cyber axes, etc.

So I bet most people heard about a really cool part of yesterday's closing ceremony in Rio: the Prime Minister coming out of the pipe Super Mario style, and before that, we even had references to Hello Kitty, Doraemon, and Pac-Man.
Watching this already makes me believe that we are bound to see tons of anime and video game references in the Tokyo Olympics' opening ceremony considering how both played a big role in shaping Japanese culture, so it got me thinking of an idea regarding how one part of the opening ceremony could look like:
If Fire Emblem doesn't use a Japanese-theme in future games, but it becomes an even bigger franchise four years from now and it finds a way to be referenced in the Olympics, I'd love to see the Hoshido characters make a cameo (since Hoshido is basically Japan in the Fire Emblem universe). Perhaps in a video presentation, we see Takumi fighting in an archery competition, Pegasus Warriors like Hinoka or Subaki racing above the stadium, Samurais like Ryoma, Hana, or Hinata facing foes in fencing, ninjas like Saizo or Kagero racing against athletes in Track and Field with their fast speed, Oboro throwing a Javelin in the Javelin throw, and maybe Sakura healing injured athletes behind the scenes.
I know this is very, very, very, very, very unlikely that this will ever happen, but that would still would be awesome to watch.
A Fire Emblem game based on Native American culture would be cool to see, don't you think? We kinda have that with Sacae in the Elibe games but let's expand on that.
I don't think that's really a problem. Swords have always been the signature weapons of heroes. It doesn't just apply to Fire Emblem, but other games too. Look at the Tales Of games. The main protagonist usually have a sword. Look at Link, he's got a Sword. Look at Cloud, he's got a sword. Look at Shulk, he's got a sword. Look at Pit, he technically has swords.
And even outside of games, heroes still uses swords. Look at Star Wars, all the Jedi (and Sith) use swords. Look at Rave Master, Haru has a Sword.
Even in myths, you've got people using swords. Look at the myth with Perseus and Medusa, as well as literally every other myth about a hero.
So, regarding Lords in Fire Emblem, it is cool when we get a non-swordfighter, but i can guarantee that FE15's Lord (assuming FE15 isn't a remake) will be a swordfighter. So i don't really see it as a problem when its FE tradition, just like the tradition of making the Lord's hair color blue. And in a game where's multiple Lords, the first Lord you get is a swordfighter (the only exception being Radiant Dawn where Micaiah is the first Lord you get but seeing as Ike is the other Lord and was the Lord of Path of Radiance, it gets a pass).
The funny thing is, Hector gets swords after promotion. Fun fact: the only Lords who don't use swords at all are Ephraim and Micaiah.

my problem is less to do with the fact that they all wield its that they all play the same way which leads to the formula becoming boring and annoying when you are forced to field a unit you find boring. i get its tradition and symbolic but i just find doing the same thing over and over again to be boring.

What do you mean by they all play the same? As far as i know, that isn't the case. Ike uses his sword differently than Roy. Roy uses his sword differently than Celica. Celica uses her sword differently than Sigurd. Sigurd uses his sword differently than Lyn.
It looks like some of them meant to be for the petting mini-game, but due to the feature being cut in later development, some of them audio clips ended being unused. Some of the voice clips in the game actually do appear in other parts of the game. Saizo and Rhajat's are said on your birthday when you talk to them, Azura's is a generic voice clip that is played when you talk to her in My Castle.
The "I love you" sample from Flora plays during her death scene in Birthright.

Completely forgot to post about this yesterday, but one day ago, it was the birthday of a certain future king of Hoshido. Happy belated Birthday Shiro!
i mean in terms of stats a lot of the ones ive played have the lords have alot of speed skill with poor strength and def. its an exageration to say they all ply like that considering a lot of the newer ones from tellius onwards switch it up a bit which i didnt really think about so my bad.
That hasn't really been a thing since Blazing Sword, though? Lyn, Eliwood, and Hector brought the full gamut from fast/weak to strong/slow, Eirika played the classic fast/weak while Ephraim was balanced, Ike was death incarnate, Micaiah was squishy mage, and then we had the boon/bane mechanic for Robin and Corrin.
Anyone ever wonder what kind of Disney-style song you could come up with regarding Fates? Here's a good one that sums up the many behaviors of playing Fates in a nutshell.

Different strokes, I suppose. The balanced ones aren't that interesting, true, but several Lords got character or class locked weapons that granted effective damage to certain enemy types to give them strategic use. I remember debating to myself when to use Lyn's Mani Katti and Eliwood's Rapier way back when, since they were so powerful against armored and mounted units but were lost forever once they broke.
(Meanwhile Hector was just over there being Hector, Wolf Beil or no.)
On a Smash related note, would you consider Corrin a counterpick to Sonic? I hate fighting that hedghog, but if I play lame with Corn, I find him his spindash much more tolerable than with Mewtwo and Charizard.
So fun fact, on my first playthrough of Blazing Sword, Hector actually sucked. I was never able to promote him because he couldn't level up past lv.10 because he kept missing everything. RNG was brutal. And his Resistance stat tho.

I hate fighting Sonics as well (who doesn't think Sonic is terribly annoying?), but I do consider Corrin to be effective against him. Corrin's counter catches Sonic with his spindashes (both the ground and the air ones, I don't know their names), and DFS will paralyze Sonic mid-dash. This neutralizes some of the cheesier play styles that Sonic players all seem to love.
Yeah, the paralysis was a big part of that. I didn't think of Counter though. I tend to forget about that move, which is a really bad habit of mine because a well timed one could be devastating. It might also be good to remember that move when I'm brought up to the top of the stage. I also found Nair covered a lot of options. If I shielded the spindash, I could often Nair out of shield, and it'd protect Corn from a lot of the hedgehog's follow up tricks.
Well, now I have an excuse for using Cornmui as a secondary other than "I like dragons".
It's almost the end of August, and perhaps most people here are returning to school. With the end of summer vacation ending for almost all of us, I thought I'd do a special "end of summer" discussion topic.
That said, the topic I want to bring up is this, and one I think is a great way to end the summer: Who are your top 10 favorite characters from Fire Emblem Fates and why?
You are open to leave some honorable mentions if you'd like. I'm going to count down as I go through my list, meaning I start from 10 and go to 1, with 1 being my favorite character in the game. Let's begin!
My Top 10
10.
While there are times he can be too stubborn to the point he may be blind to the truth (as well as having some questionable morals, I thought he was a very enjoyable character. What really draws me the most is his backstory, which is explained in his supports. He may be a serious and strong individual now, but when he was a child, he was actually meek, shy, and not very strong. It took him a long while to become the expert swordsman he is today, and when he had to speak in front of large audiences, he imagined talking to bunnies to ease the anxiety.
To be honest, Xander feels pretty relatable. He's like me when it comes to speaking in front of an audience, where I can get pretty nervous due to the circumstances. Yet, he is clearly a dedicated individual not only to his nation but also to his skill, so his story of improvement is pretty inspiring for me. Xander even had moments in his life where he just overworks himself after getting reprimanded by someone, and I tend to be like him when it comes to those situations. He's also a pretty admirable father figure not only to his siblings, but also to his retainers.
As a unit, Xander really carried me through many maps thanks to his reliable tankyness. He carried me through many maps in my Conquest, and he was even pretty clutch dealing with some difficult child paralogues in Revelation. He has an awesome signature weapon too that not only hits hard, but also looks pretty menacing.
In all, Xander is definitely my favorite Nohrian royal. He's an awesome unit in battle, and his character is pretty enjoyable with some pretty good depth. I've been attached to this character since the later chapters of Birthright.
9.
The moment she encountered Corrin again in Chapter 5 was when I became pretty attached to the character. I was moved by her reaction in that scene, and it became one of the main reasons why I wanted to play Birthright first. Her attachment to Corrin feels pretty natural and not an unhealthy obsession. I think its very admirable how she became a warrior in the hopes of bringing Corrin back. Siding with Nohr is especially painful just thinking about that.
Some of her supports show that training to become a Pegasus Knight wasn't easy for her. Her rash behavior made it hard to control her pegasus at times. Again, this is something that I can relate to considering I had moments in my life where I felt pretty impatient while training to be good at something, thus affecting my performance.
What I also like a lot about her is that she breaks normal conventions of a princess. She is determined, strong, and capable of fighting on her own if she needs to. She's a tomboy with a soft side, and I think that's what makes her pretty likable as a character. She even knows how to give a good smackdown when necessary (like her A Support with Takumi).
When it comes to gameplay, Hinoka did really well in my playthroughs of Birthright and Revelation. In the latter, she made an excellent pair-up bot for Xander, improving his speed issue tremendously. Xander also made a great pair-up bot her in return, allowing her to hit harder than normal while still giving her improved bulk. She too had some pretty clutch moments in a variety of battles, such as being an excellent mage killer.
I really wish she had more of a story presence, but other than that, Hinoka is a character that I really like because her tomboy personality mixed with a sweet side while proving to be a strong and reliable unit in the battlefield.
8.
A character who I grew to like as I read more of his supports. He does have a sadistic and vulgar side that gets him into trouble on multiple occasions, but he also has some pretty funny dialogue at times. He can also be rude, but it's usually done to prove some sort of point (like in his supports with Camilla and Mozu). I also really like Niles' backstory of how he struggled to live in the slums growing up, but eventually found more content with his life once he encountered Leo. In fact, Niles' dedication to his superior is pretty admirable to see.
I can't say much about how he performed as a unit. Although a bow-user, he makes a solid mage killer, and he was also really clutch in Conquest when dealing with those pesky Master Ninjas in the later chapters. There was a moment in my Revelation playthrough where he became pretty devastating with a Shining Bow thanks to a Magic Boost from Felicia, and he ended up having the highest mobility out of everyone in my army thanks to Felicia's Strategist class. This made him pretty useful for reaching chests or reaching other things (such as allowing Felicia to move close enough to use a Rescue staff on Shiro during his paralogue without having her get slaughtered by enemy units).
Niles may've not be one of my best units in both my Conquest and Revelation playthroughs, but he got the job done when he needed too. He also has a pretty enjoyable disposition and a good backstory to back him up. I kind of wish he had some supports with Azama. The two are pretty much known for being rude on occasions, but I think both could learn from each by sharing their philosophies.
7.
Prior to playing Conquest, I thought this character would be pretty disappointing because of her design. Turns out I was wrong. Yes, she is a gold digger who constantly flirts with other men, but she has a good backstory to back that up. She comes from a poor family and wants to provide sufficient income for them, so she tries to get with other men in order to marry into someone rich that can help fund her family.
Many of her support conversations are fantastic, and she has lots of memorable dialogue as well. Her reaction upon marrying Xander is gold (pun intended), she can be pretty funny at times, but she also has a caring side. Her kinder attitude can be seen in her supports with Kaden where she actually feels bad for him once she learns that he is shaving parts of his tail in order to sell some fur to fund, or her supports with Nyx where she tries to make her feel more appreciative about herself.
Charlotte made a pretty good Berserker in the battlefield. She was landing crits most of the time, and dear lord are her critical quotes enjoyable. If she wasn't killing units, she did pretty well as a pair-up bot thanks to her high Strength boost.
Her design has way too much fan-service, but at least she has reason she dresses up like that, unlike Camilla. It's a good thing Charlotte does gain a better design when she turns into a Berserker. Aside from that, I still enjoyed Charlotte quite a lot. Very memorable character overall who knew how to land crits like a boss.
6.
As a unit, he isn't the best. His luck isn't good, and that can mess him up quite often. It's also one of his defining characteristics, but the one thing that's admirable about him is that he always stays optimistic no matter the bad luck. That is something I really admire.
But that's not the only thing that makes him a really enjoyable character. His "justice" attitude is the reason why he's so lovable. He acts like an American superhero, and this leads to him making so many memorable quotes such as "taste justice."
Probably one of my favorite moments in Conquest was in the Endgame where he murdered hordes of Faceless that were rushing toward my units. He was dropping critical quotes left and right, and you could say he really did feel like a superhero at that moment. Luck was even on his side!
I really don't have much else to say about the character. His personality is a big reason why he's one of my favorite characters in this game.
5.
Despite the children being shoe-horned into Fates for no reason, I actually enjoyed a decent number of them, but none of them stand out compared to Shiro IMO. To me, Shiro is the least one-note out of all the children. He has varied supports that don't necessarily revolve around a certain gimmick. That's not the only reason why I like Shiro so much.
Shiro is a really great contrast from his father. While Ryoma is serious all the time, Shiro is very laid back and even reckless at times. This makes him very sociable, friendly, and open-minded. It even allows him to have some memorable dialogue, such as how he refers to his father as "the Big Cheese of Hoshido." Generally speaking, he just feels like the kind of bro you'd want to hang out with.
His relationship with his father also felt pretty genuine. It's one of the more realistic interpretations of the effects of the Deeprealms, and props to Shiro for being one of the few to call out how dumb it is. Once he learns more about his father, he becomes rather insecure about inheriting the throne, and I think it just makes his dynamic even more interesting. He admits the reason he picks up the naginata and not the sword was because he wants to surpass his father. I like that not only because it shows how relatable his relaxed nature is by wanting to take the easy way out of life, but it also shows a human side to him, one that wants to prove himself.
Shiro also performed really well for me as a unit. Spear Masters are generally amazing units, and Shiro capitalizes that similar to Oboro. He can tank really well with the Guard Naginata, and he can hit hard at times with other lances. Much like some of the other characters in this list, he has some cool battle quotes. My favorites include his critical quote, "ready for this", and his victory quote, "next." Both capture his disposition pretty well.
Without a doubt, Shiro is my favorite child unit in the game who also earned to make it in my top 5 favorite characters in Fates. His chill and sociable personality flesh him out to be a pretty enjoyable character who also displays a very interesting relationship with his father. I'd even argue he is the best written child character in FE: Fates.
4.
I first saw this character in the pre-release days in the months/weeks before Fates was released in America. The Birthright preview footage showed the Chapter 13 battle, and it was there I saw how he played. He seemed like a pretty funny dude. His voice sounded like a cross between Yarne and Henry at the time, and he had a sense of humor that reminded me of Henry's but without any reference to blood or hexes (and as you probably guessed, Henry was one of my favorite Awakening characters). He also had a pretty neat design, and I was pretty much counting down the days until I could experience the character myself once I played Birthright to see if the hype for the character was worth it.
And boy was the hype worth it. This character had a great introduction in Birthright, establishing himself as a kind and humorous fella'. As I read more of his supports I began to like the character even more. His most defining trait is how he wants to repay people for the kind acts done to him, and I think that's a pretty sweet quality. He thinks of others very much, and that makes him one of the nicest characters in Fates. He's also a really funny character. One of his best quotes has to be the one from his C-Support with Rinkah where he calls her "grumpy-pants," but words the sentence in a humorous light.
Kaden can also be pretty narcissistic about his appearance at times, but to me, that's pretty relatable considering there was a point in my life where I was as narcissistic as he was when it came to body image. The idea of repaying them and keeping his appearance in check is like he wants to be a good role model. He reminds of Inigo, one of my favorite Awakening characters, in a pretty good way: a character who cares about making people happy.
As a unit, despite Keaton being a better unit because he is a very reliable and speed tank, Kaden can still perform pretty well. With his high Speed, Resistance, Skill, and decent Strength, he makes a great mage killer, and he can even handle mounted units pretty well. I also tend to compare Keaton and Kaden with Xander and Ryoma. As Keaton is to Xander for reliable tackiness, Kaden is to Ryoma for being a very dodgy unit with low Defense that could be trouble if he gets hit. Luckily, Kaden's Defense improves big-time (at least in my Birthright playthrough) once he turns into a Nine-tails and gets the Beastrune, so getting hit by a physical attack isn't as troublesome compared to when he is first obtained. Much like other characters, I enjoy many of his battle quotes. His laugh during the critical animation is my favorite one.
A solid unit and with a really great personality overall, I think you can tell why I like Kaden so much. I even like all of his support conversations.
3.
Like I previously mentioned when I discussed Kaden, Inigo was a favorite of mine back in the Awakening days. In addition to being a great mercenary-unit, but I also thought his character is enjoyable. He flirts with plenty of women, but once you learn the reason he does so, you realize that it is way for him to deal with his crippling shyness. He also cares about making others happy, and it really shows in his supports with Lucina. Admittedly, he could be immature at times, usually in an S-Support where the girl tells him to not flirt with others now that they are together, though Inigo reacts with disappointment (Cynthia's support is a good example).
I was pretty happy to see him come back in Fates, and my goodness, he definitely improved from Awakening! Not only did I like his design much than the one he got in Awakening, I also think he matured the most from the returning Awakening trio. He doesn't act immature when he's told he can't flirt, and he gains a bigger perspective that makes him even more kind and open-minded to whoever he interacts with. Whether it be making the army by introducing them to a fireworks show in his supports with Orochi, being a great counselor in his supports with Peri, using his flirtatious tactics to capture assassins in his supports with Beruka, accepting the flaws in relationships in his supports with Charlotte, discussing dance moves with Azura, or displaying an admirable father-son kind of dynamic with his relationship with Xander, he has some of the best support conversations out of everyone in Fire Emblem Fates.
He wasn't the best Hero unit in my playthroughs, but he still performed pretty well and got the job done when he needed to. His personal skill was also very useful, being a rallying skill for two stats.
I grew to like Laslow even more than I did in Awakening. He has definitely matured, and he is as lovable as ever. While flirtatious, he has a good heart deep down, one that wants to make people smile and inspire others through dance similar to his mother, Olivia.
Killing Laslow in Birthright was really painful too because of how much I like his character, not to mention his death quote hits the feels hard for those that played Awakening (and it's even more painful in the Japanese version).
2.
Oboro caught my attention in the pre-release days when Fates was released in Japan. She has a really great design, and I guess that's because of her choice of clothes. That could be explained by her good sense of fashion. I also even learned she had a crush on Takumi. I thought "that's cute" at first, but I also got worried about that. Cordelia's crush on Chrom and Tharja's crush on Robin weren't handled very well because too many of their supports emphasized it way too much, so I had a feeling Oboro's feelings will be a repeat of that.
When I played Birthright, boy was I wrong. We do learn about Oboro's crush on Takumi when she is first introduced in Chapter 9, but it turns out this is one of the very few moments in Fates where it is even brought up. In fact, the only times this is even raised is that, her S-Support with Hinata, her S-Support with Takumi, and...
when you kill her in Conquest Chapter 23
By not emphasizing these romantic feelings too much, this allows Oboro to have more character and development to her, as well as having plenty of excellent support conversations. Her supports with Takumi are also really good, and the S-Support between them is one of the best in the game and not something cheesy like some might initially expect. We also learn this crush isn't an obsession like with Cordelia or Tharja, but rather a cute and dream-like kind of crush; her S-Support with Hinata best explains that. Even then, I still ship Takumi with Oboro because of how adorable it is (and I'm sure plenty of others have done the same).
Ever need that fancy suit for prom, homecoming, or any other formal dance, or maybe you're just looking for some new clothes to make you look fashionable? Oboro has you covered. She has a great taste of fashion, and she even makes clothes herself. Takumi is pretty lucky to have her as a retainer, because he gets free access to the most stylish clothes in all of Hoshido from one of the nation's best tailors. Compared to other Fates characters, this gimmick doesn't make her too bland; for me, she felt like one of the few characters who supports wasn't the result of the gimmick telling her to act that way.
Then there's her other distinguishable trait: her hatred for Nohrians. At first, it seems to make her unlikable. She is racist because her parents were killed by Nohrian bandits when she was little, so it looks like a bland backstory. Turns out there's more to this trait than meets the eye. For one, she is capable of maintaining her composure and not letting her racial attitudes dictate her. This is best seen in her supports with Silas and Beruka. With Silas, Oboro turns down his training offer because she tells him that she will probably kill him and cares for his safety, and you see how she opens up to Nohr as the supports develop.
With Beruka, Oboro learns about the person who murdered her parents: Beruka's foster father. When Beruka offers to let herself be killed because she took out the "root of [Oboro's] hatred," Oboro has a really great response. She refuses to kill Beruka because she knows that killing her will only lead to more hatred. Oboro then states the "cycle of hate ends today." You know, for someone who has animosity towards a nation, this is a HUGE step. It is actually pretty difficult to learn to forgive enemies like that, so you have to give major props to Oboro for taking this massive step.
Even in Conquest, she isn't as racist as one might think. When Corrin fights her in Chapter 10 to trigger a special dialogue, she surprisingly doesn't erupt into a racist rage. She actually stays pretty calm as she talks to Corrin. She is more angry in Conquest Chapter 23, but that's a bit more justified considering that the Nohrian forces have been proceeding deep into Hoshido at that point in the game.
As a unit, dear lord is Oboro amazing. She was one of my best units in both my Birthright and Revelation playthoughs. All I had to do was give her a Guard Naginata, and she turned into one of my most dangerous tanks in existence. Being a Spear Master, she even has solid Resistance, so she's isn't murdered by mages compared to other physical tanks in the game. With her high Strength, decent speed, and the Rend Heaven, she was KOing units left and right. while taking very little damage. If I needed a unit to rely on if the going was tough, Oboro was the character to do the job. Her usefulness even earned her a place in my final team for Revelation's final boss, and she did her magic there. She was also one of the few units that never died and thus forcing me to restart compared to others.
Over the past few months, Oboro has become my second favorite character in the game, and I think she will stay that way. She's definitely one of the best written characters in Fates who has plenty of great support conversations that flesh out her character, showing not only a playful and kind side, but also a mature attitude. Her crush on Takumi is also handled much better than the crushes in Awakening, and her fashion trait also makes her lovable (which also explains why she has a great design). She also has memorable lines, whether it be her adorable laugh or her critical quote, "You are SO last season!" The fact she was one of my best units also solidified into the position she is now.

Anyone who has followed my posts for quite some time should have seen this one coming. Not only is Takumi my favorite character in Fire Emblem Fates, but he is also one of my favorite video game characters of all time. I've already written two essays in the past about why I really like Takumi as a character, so I think I'll do my best to keep this one short and sweet.
For one, he is one of the best written characters because of the amount of depth he has. He's one of the few characters in Fates that doesn't kiss Corrin's feet right away. When he is first encountered in Chapter 5, he is pretty rude to be exact. For most people, this made him pretty hate-worthy at first, and was likely a reason why some wanted to play Conquest. The way I how I viewed this scene, I'd say he had the most human reaction to Corrin's return. If someone you know was kidnapped and raised by an enemy nation and later showed up unexpectedly in a time of war, wouldn't you be suspicious? He also doesn't have a favorable attitude towards Nohrians similar to Oboro. In his case, it's because they murdered his father (and eventually Mikoto as well), and forgiveness is a very hard thing to do, especially for his age.
He also suffers from an inferiority complex. As the middle child, he feels inferior to his siblings, and it can effect the ways he interacts with others. He can be rude at times, but deep down, he is actually pretty kind; he even apologizes for his actions in Chapter 5 when you beat Birthright Chapter 10. He even has relatable anxiety where he worries about how he interacts and how others think of him, which could also trace back to his inferiority complex: he trains really hard because he wants others to know how strong he can be.
In Conquest, he does become pretty angry, but as it turned out, most of his actions were the result of a certain demonic being messing with his mind. He became a prime target for possession because of his inferiority complex and the anger over Corrin's betrayal that was ultimately causing him to lose his sanity. We even see he still is a really kind dude by the endgame of Conquest.
As for why I relate to him so much? Like Takumi, I tend to worry a lot about how others think of me. There was even moments in my life where I suffered from an inferiority complex similar to him. In my case, it was an inferiority complex amongst my friends. In high school, I felt inferior to them when it came to academics because a lot of my best friends were better, so I studied hard because I felt like I needed to prove I really was smart. When I had a moment of failure in this path, I sometimes became pretty expressive about similar to how Takumi can get vocal about his inferiority complex. This led to friends and acquaintances giving me the smackdown to not be so caught up about it.
Leo also suffers from an inferiority complex, but he tends to be more quiet about it compared to Takumi, who is expressive about it. That's why I relate to Takumi more than Leo: back then, I was very expressive about my failures similar to Takumi. That's also a big reason why I actually like Takumi's supports with Hinoka. It's one of those dialogues that shows how Takumi's inferiority complex issue affects him, and the way he expresses it is similar to those darker times in my past. Hinoka giving the smackdown in the A Support was much like the people who gave me a similar talk.
I no longer suffer from an academic inferiority complex that I had in high school, but Takumi is a character who I can relate because I was just like him one time, and thus I can understand where he is coming from with his behavior. I still feel concerned about what other's think of me though, to the point it can make me feel anxious and awkward similar to what Takumi goes though, so I guess that's one Takumi trait that I still have.
When it comes to the battlefield, Takumi is an absolute beast. He is hands down the best archer in the game thanks to his bow. He can perform many reliable kills with his Fujin Yumi, both for high damage or a good chance of a critical hit. With the right skills, he can even become even more deadly than he already is (such as giving him the Point Blank scroll).
All in all, Takumi is a really well-written, as well as a highly relatable character. He even makes an awesome unit in battle. All of that should tell you why I'm really attached to the character.
...Wow, I actually wrote much more than I expected. I guess that just comes to show how much I care about the character.
Honorable mentions
At first, I thought he was pretty bland, but once I read more of his supports, I came to really like Hinata. His backstory may not be the most interesting ever, but his real charm comes in with the ways he interacts towards others. He actually has a large number of fantastic support conversations: Azura, Felicia, Odin, Takumi, Kaden, Kagero, Oboro, Hana, Rinkah, Sakura, Hinoka, and Hisame all come to mind. His charm comes from the way he interacts with others. He may get a little carried away with women (best seen with his shopping tactics), he is capable of learning from his mistakes in a positive light. He is even capable of improving individuals for the best and make them appreciate themselves more, and that's seen in his supports with Kagero, Felicia, and Hinoka. Those two even experience excellent character development because of him.
He also acts like a fun dude overall, and the way he approaches others reminds me of Vaike, one of my favorite Awakening characters. He feels like a bro that you'd like to hang out with. He also has some really enjoyable dialogue with Takumi and Oboro. The trio really look a group of best friends because of the amazing chemistry they have; I honestly wonder if all three were childhood friends because of how well they play together.
Sadly, he isn't the best unit. He doesn't compare to Ryoma or Hana when it comes to Samurai usefulness. However, he was still an alright unit. He was an alright Blacksmith in my Birthright run, and a surprisingly decent Swordmaster in my Revelation run (I also think he has the best Swordmaster outfit out of everyone: that black and purple combination is too good). I've great things about Master of Arms Hinata, so I think I will try that out next time if I decide to do another Birthright run. I can definitely see why he does well in that class because of his stats reflecting a more physical orientation.
If I had to be honest, Hinata has become my 11th favorite character in Fire Emblem Fates. He can be foolish at times, but he is a lovable jock that makes him a pretty good character IMO. One of the reasons why I'm interested in those Fates drama CDs is to hear more about Hinata, and I hope that those CDs could even provide some backstory how him and Takumi developed that special kind of chemistry (perhaps even provide some backstory for Hinata too).
IMO, I think he is the most interesting of the three ninjas. Not only does he have a cool and edgy personality, but he also has the most interesting supports compared to Kagero and Kaze. He's also one of the few characters that doesn't trust Corrin from the get-go, and that made him even more enjoyable for me. Yes, there are times when he can be pretty rude, but he is pretty dorky, which makes him pretty funny at times (such as his birthday quote). He even has a fairly interesting backstory.
As a unit, he stands out for being the bulkiest of the three ninjas and being a really good user of the Flame Shuriken. He wasn't my most used ninja, but he's still decent.
This is a character I can definitely understand why many think he is one of the more interesting Hoshido characters, and even I will admit he's pretty cool.
The archetype isn't anything new, but I like characters who are gentle giants. I also really like his love for nature, which is something I can connect since I am a nature lover myself,
Gameplay-wise, Benny was great. While Effie had the edge in Strength, Benny had better Defense and Resistance. This made him a pretty reliable tank, and when paired with Rinkah in Revelation, he could pretty hard.
Hey guys! It's been a little while since I've been on. How is everyone doing? I'm on Chapter 20 of Revelations and let me tell you, I have never had more fun playing a game. I've also been playing Smash 3DS alot. I'm getting really good with Corrin, Robin, Roy, and Mario. My Mewtwo is amazing.(Not to brag xD) But I'm really sick of For Glory. I hate the people who play it. Some people are good, but the rest is just, God bless the people who actually have it, the rest of the people are just cancer. There is no other way to put it I'm afraid. I also married Camilla btw. I married Kagero too, but she was...eh. She was a little depressing. If anyone wants to play Smash 3DS with me , let me know. So yeah it's good to be back.
I'm at the point where hearing someone say they like Revelations triggers me. I feel petty for that, but at the same time, that game was a huge disappointment for me.
...Seriously though, it's clear to me that they didn't put the same amount of polish into that game that they did with Birthright and Conquest, at least in terms of map design, which is the most important part of an FE game for me. I'm really mad at IS for that, and I regret spending my money on what I consider to be an unpolished cash-grab.
But if you're just in it for the characters, I guess it is the best version for that. Honestly, that's probably the game's one saving grace. But then again, I could always just keep separate Birthright and Conquest files...
I'll do a Top 5 as I am more comfortable with that.
My TOP 5 FATES CHARACTERS
5)
Returning from Awakening, the main reason I feel that he is here is because he has aged the best from game to game. His improved maturity definitely shines through in many supports, yet still celebrates being the wannabe rogue that he was in Awakening at the same time. His introversion/extroversion issues was always something I found relatable, and his natural growth from that is what gets him on this list.
Not to mention, his new design (as well as all the mercenaries) is fantastic. It looks smart, practical and visually appealing, something I can't say for a few outfits in the game. I also like how it gives the impression of a waistcoat, which I seem to have a fetish for (see below).
4)
Keaton makes for a good contrast to Kaden below. Born a day before halloween for a reason, his child-like obsession for all the trinkets he collects is a fun trait to follow, along with his massive amount of enthusiasm for it that he demonstrates in many different supports. His main flaw, that is his liking for combat and killing, stems from his love of the macabre and fits him well. There's also the fact that he is very friendly otherwise, and so is the character I would most want to sit down with.
His design is great also. I like the irony of the country guy with an obsession with trash deciding to wear a waistcoat he probably got from a human marketplace. I kinda wish his Wolfskin form looked a bit more like a traditional werewolf, given that Keaton is a traditional Kitsune.
Also, waistcoat.
Finally, I feel that Keaton has the absolute best English voice in the game. Provided by Gideon Emery, it gets across his entire personality, from how serious his love for creepy trinkets is to his love of fighting and then his friendliness once you get to sit down with him.
3)
Oboro, the fashionista and Takumi's retainer. I feel that the main reason she is here is that her personality is very well rounded and likeable. Her love for fashion feels like a natural expression of her character rather than a gimmick, helping her friendliness feel more real. Even her flaw feels reasonable given what she went through, and she learns to grow past it through a few supports. Her crush on Takumi being a minor fact is another example of a small detail being used to add depth to someone.
I also feel that her design is really cool and understated, fitting in with her love for fashion while still feeling practical for her job. I also like that her default expression isn't a blank stare or slight smile, just gives her something else to stand out with.
Like Keaton, I also appreciate the improvements made to her English voice. Her Japanese voice was strangely out of place, but Marisha Ray's English version gives it a likeable and friendly quality that suits her really well.
2)
Kaden, the narcissistic Kitsune. Funnily enough, before release I preferred Keaton for certain reasons, but when I got the final game I was won over more by Kaden. I get the feeling that it is maybe because he reminds me of myself more, but I also feel that he is a bit more grounded and down to earth, something I tend to prefer characters to be.
His personality as a kind, true to his word person makes him likeable alone, but I feel that his supports often bring out the best in other characters too, or give them hidden depths of sorts. His narcissism is a fair trade-off for this, and even has a well-meaning reason behind it. Erureido above mentioned that he is similar to Inigo in that aspect to some extent, and this possibly explains why both are in my top characters. The fact that Kaden manages to essentially date Corrin in their C-Support may even imply that he is actually the true ladies man of Fates.
I also love his design. Maybe the blue/orange contrast just works well specifically on him, but his casual chioice of clothing not only makes for a good contrast with Keaton, but it also fits his laid back personality well
Finally, he can be an absolute monster of a unit, as he happened to be in my game.
1)
Niles, the thief turned retainer. To start with, I like his backstory of a guy who was living with nothing, before finding redemption in becoming a retainer while still putting his skills to greater use. I feel that there is a nice contrast to be had with Corrin: Corrin grew up sheltered from society, while Niles was exposed to the very worst of it. While Corrin was simply born into a position of power, Niles had to work his way up from the bottom. In Conquest there is even a moment reminiscent of Leo's decision to spare Niles, with Corrin being given the choice to execute or spare Shura. Even if you don't like the two as a pair, I still feel that they make good foils to each other.
In his supports with other characters, Niles' other traits get to shine. Being the jerk with a heart of gold, his 'jerk' side is often fun to observe and rather understandable given his background. And on a good day, his supports can be touching and make him a character with good hidden depths.
Another thing I want to touch on is the decision to make him the male bisexual option in Fates, and the controversy surrounding that. Some people complain that making the sole option a lustful sadist is doing a disservice and that it is negative stereotyping. In my opinion however, I honestly appreciate that sexuality is not inconsequential to the rest of the character, and actually has an impact on his main personality. When he gets his humble moments, he comes off as someone who is just being himself while also having fun playing up certain traits.
As controversial as this opinion is, I legitimately argue that Niles proves that Intelligent Systems is capable of writing homosexual and bisexual characters better than some companies who have been doing so for longer. I hope they continue to improve from this point on rather than taking the easy way out.
Finally, while I don't love his design as much as some others on this list, I still like it for giving him his own distinct silhouette. Also, what is with Fates and giving male characters noticeable cleavage? I'm not complaining too much, but it seems a bit funny that it is a repeated design cue.
HONOURABLE MENTIONS
Mozu was probably the biggest surprise for me. I find her personality relatable and love how it ties into her actual stats as a unit.
I already talked about this before, but she comes off as legitimately caring about her siblings in a realistic and selfless way. She unfortunately hasn't done much gameplay wise for me so far, but she easily makes up for it in her character.
He's cute.
I’m not the biggest Takumi fan, so I didn’t expect much of his son. But within a few minutes after his recruitment, I realised that he is completely impossible to hate. He is just so happy and enthusiastic about everything he does that his smile will forgive anything.
His personality may not have much depth beyond being a straightforward nice guy, but as some of my other favourite characters demonstrate, that doesn’t need to be a bad thing and he is a fun, powerful unit to keep around.
My Top 10 Favorite Characters in Fire Emblem Fates
At number 10, we have Elise. Elise is actually one of the main reasons i chose to play Conquest first. I'm sure she won a lot of people over with "ONI-CHAN" (it even became a meme), but that isn't necessarily why i like her. I know a lot of people chose Birthright first after watching Hinoka cry onto Corrin's chest after reuniting with him/her after so long, and yeah, betraying Hinoka after that would certainly make you feel guilty. But for me personally, i would feel more guilty betraying Elise. Elise is the only Nohrian sibling who didn't know about Corrin's Hoshidian origins since she was born after Corrin's kidnapping. So for Elise, Corrin was her brother by blood, until finding out the truth. So betraying her would make me feel more guilty than betraying Hinoka. In terms of her personality, she's just so innocent. She's always so optimistic and is always ready to have fun. She reminds me of Nowi in Awakening. Fun fact: Nowi was the first character i married in Awakening. Elise also makes for a good early game healer, and her Magic is really good. So yeah, Elise is number 10.
"OHHHHHHH YESSSSS!" -Niles.
At number 9, we have Niles. Niles was one of my MVPs during my Conquest run. At first, i thought i wasn't gonna like Niles. When he was first revealed, we were told he had a sadistic nature, and i felt that i wasn't gonna like him because of that. Boy, did my opinion change when i played the game. I love that his sadistic nature actually has origin and he isn't sadistic for the sake of being sadistic. His backstory of growing up in poverty and being happy when the rich had to suffer the same way he did growing up actually makes sense. And the thing is, i can actually relate to him. From 3rd Grade, my family has been poor.In fact, in 7th Grade, we lost our home and had to rent a room in someone else's house. That went on until just recently actually, when my mom was able to afford a one-room apartment during the final months of my 10th Grade year. And even though i have a home now, its not exactly the most comfortable, since it only has one room (my Mom decided to sleep in the living room so i could sleep in the bedroom more comfortably). And this is just the American side of things. My family in Venezuela is living through much worse, and i have experienced that first hand whenever i would visit. So i can perfectly understand how Niles feels and that's why he's number 9.
Takumi comes in at number 8. Even though i played Conquest first, i didn't hate him like most people did. Yeah, he was in the process of being possessed during most of Conquest but the way he acted still sort-of made sense. I also love the Fuijin Yumi. It reminds me of the Palutena Bow, the way that there's no physical arrows. I think its the best divine bow in the entire series. Most divine bows are just really powerful, some have an elemental property to them. But the Fujin Yumi just looks the most divine out of all of them. In terms of personality, i can definitely relate to Takumi's inferiority complex. I may not have any older siblings (or any siblings really), but my inferiority complex comes from the fact that almost all of my IRL friends are more successful than me. Three of them are amazing artists (with one of those artists even designing a small game), one of them is an intern, two of them do well at Smash Bros tournaments (although admittedly, i haven't gone to any), and those same two have had a girlfriend in the past. Meanwhile, here i am, and i haven't done anything. I've tried, but it almost never works. For example, when i try to draw, i can never get it to come out right. I'm sure every drawing looks better in our minds rather than on paper. Oh and all of my friends have better grades than me. So, yeah, Takumi, i can definitely understand how you feel. Oh, and his "DIE ALREADY" critical hit quote perfectly sums up how i feel when fighting the final boss in JRPGs.
At 7th place, we have Leo. Leo, in my opinion, is the coolest looking Nohrian. I heard in an interview that the development theme wanted Nohr to have a sort-of vampire motif and Leo fits that to a T. I would love to cosplay as Leo sometime. In my opinion, he also has the best divine weapon out of the royal brothers. There's just something about beating people with a tree. In terms of personality, i like how he's a perfect mix of casual and serious. In some ways, he reminds me of Gray Fullbuster from Fairy Tail. And anything that reminds me of Fairy Tail gets the Official Armagon Seal of Approval. Despite being a Dark Knight, i do feel that Grandmaster suits him more.
Yeah, children were shoehorned in but i like most of them anyways (and by most, i mean all except Rhajat). So, while i admittedly didn't use Shiro a whole lot, i do like his personality. He's so casual. He doesn't care about formalities or anything like that. He doesn't care how he looks. JUST LIKE ME! Seriously, this guy probably matches my personality 95% of the time. His reckless personality also reminds me of another Fairy Tail character: Natsu Dragneel. BTW, i know that i just said that his personality is closest to mine but i'm not reckless. That's actually all i have to say though. Again, i didn't really use Shiro a whole lot so i've got nothing to say gameplay wise. Fortunately, i did recruit him before the paralouge difficultly spike.
BEST MAGIC USER IN THE GAME! Kicking of the Top 5, we have Ophelia. I love how she has her own take on her father's theatrics. Gameplay-wise, as mentioned before, she's the best magic user in the game. I also reclassed her into a Witch, because it fits her better than Sorcerer. Also, i love that her personal Tome is a reference to her father's personal Sword.
Number 4, we have Soleil. Why do i like Soleil? Because she's the most casual person in the entire game. She's also among my best MVPs in both Conquest and Revelation. She doesn't care what people think of her. Here's the evidence, from her supports with Seigbert: "I think a really strong woman would be herself, and not be ashamed of her ways. If she feels something, she acts on it, without worrying about anyone else!" Gameplay-wise, she makes for a surprisingly good Dread Fighter, especially if her mother is Mozu. Plus, it fits her. While she doesn't care about what other people think of her, she does want cute girls to see her as cool, and Dread Fighter Soleil is cool. And continuing with the Fairy Tail reminders, she reminds me a bit of Cana Alberona when it comes to casualness.
At number three, we have Laslow. Laslow seems to be showing up in a lot of Top 10s, and i can defenitly see why. Out of the three Awakening characters, he has matured the most. Yeah, he's still the Fire Emblem version of Brock from Pokemon, but he also has a new, more serious side to him now. And he can tell when people are going through the same thing he did when he was in the apocalyptic future. One of the best examples of this is his supports with Mozu. Laslow x Mozu is easily among the Top 3 best supports in the entire game BTW. In it, he at first tries to flirt with Mozu (as usual) but when he hear's about Mozu's destroyed home, he stops flirting and becomes more serious and tells Mozu that he knows exactly how she feels right now, because he's gone through that too.
At number 2, we have Shigure. When i first saw him, i actually thought his class was gonna be a male-equivalent of the Songstress class and i was a bit disappointed when he just turned out to be a Sky Knight. But, that didn't stop him from being a great character and a great unit. He has great love for painting, which honestly makes me wish there was a feature where Shigure would paint stuff and you could decorate My Castle with it. And, like his mother, he loves singing, and Matthew Mercer did a fantastic job with Shigure's singing voice. I also like that Shigure has a slight British accent (note: i'm not British, so if he doesn't actually have a slight British accent, please forgive me). Heirs of Fate definitely increased Shigure's character.
Anybody who knows me probably saw this coming. Yep, Azura is number 1. From the very first trailer, i knew that i would like her, and i even decided that i would marry her in the game. That was long before S-Supports were confirmed. From her dancing, to her songs, to just being a unique character in general, Azura deserves 1st place here. Controlling water is something rarely seen in Fire Emblem and its great to see good use of aqua-kinises with Azura. Lost in Thoughts All Alone is one of my favorite songs ever, right up there with Masayume Chasing (Fairy Tail OP 15), Beyond the Blue (Azure Striker Gunvolt) and Indigo Destiny (Azure Striker Gunvolt 2). In fact, i have three versions of Lost in Thoughts All Alone downloaded on my phone: The Official English version, the Amalee version, and the Japanese version from the FE 25th Anniversary Concert. Also, you can pretty much tell that Corrin x Azura is canon. She's the only character to have three different sets of Supports with Corrin that depend on the path chosen and that even extends to her confessions quotes. And also, this is official art from the Fates artbook (not the 4Koma one)
Now this is just gold (pun intended).
Now, I would add honorable mentions but my mom's telling me to go to sleep so good night. I'll add honorable mentions tomorrow.
I don't know how to do that spoiler thing. But my top 10 characters from Fates are:
Female Corrin (On the cob)
Azura
Ryoma (Who doesn't love Lobster Boy?)
Takumi (I have Takumi on this list because I actually used to be somewhat like him. I still am kinda. Always trying to prove himself. I used to be insecure but I honestly couldn't give a rat's ass what people think of me. Also, his skill level is ridiculous)
Leo
Nyx (Because she is a beast with the Witch class) (Also, I DO NOT USE WARP)
Kaze
Camilla (I'll say it again, I do not likeher because of her breasts. She's honestly a pretty awesome character once you see it in her support conversations with Corrin, her retainers, and whoever else she supports with.)
Arthur (He's pretty hilarious with his Gung-Ho attitude. "In the name of Justice!" - Arthur)
Keaton (I've always preferred Keaton over Kaden. Don't get me wrong, I love Kaden because I found out how much of a beast (Lol get it? Beast?) he is in Birthright.
Honorable Mentions:
Gunter (Because he is underrated)
Felicia
Flora
Jakob
Laslow
Fuga
Xander
This list actually got me Lost in Thoughts all Alone. (Get it?)
Not gonna put 29032453 words for each one because that's gonna take awhile lol
Tbh I didn't really like her character at first. She just seemed like a selfish gold digger.
Then I looked at her supports and I realised how much she cares for her parents and why she does what she does. And I find that really caring. She's not like Mr. Krabs where she'll do ANYTHING for money as shown with her and Kaden's support.
Plus her crits are honestly the best pffff
The best royal child right here.
Kiragi's cute. Forrest is cool and kind, but he didn't really pop out to me other than he looks like a girl. Siegbert is just genericly boring and that he wants to be a good king. But Shiro is just a dude that just wants to chill and have a good time. Those types of people are cool. Plus, I'd love to friends with a chill dude like him. Also his name is 'white' in Japanese, which is also my favourite colour/shade so that's another plus~ And the fact that he took up lances just to beat his dad is funny, albeit a bit cheap
I like sleeping. She likes sleeping. It's perfect. I just find her really charming. She really likes poems, specifically haikus. And she's got a little bit of Azama's personality too which is a VERY good thing. She literally doesn't care about anything except sleep, haikus and friends and I just really like that for some reason.
This girl is a recent addition, but I just don't understand why. I think it may have been my brother's influence that I like this character so much now. Caeldori's ambition to become the best like no one ever was is pretty cool. And she's also humble about it, which is something I really like.
"Cha-ching~!" She just has so much charm in her~ I really liked her in Awakening and in Fates it's still the same deal (hehe) She just has that charm in her and that's why I like her~
I'm sorry they have to share a spot I can't choose between them cricri.
Tbh who doesn't like Leo or Takumi?
I find Takumi to be one of the more realistic characters in the entire game, with him being suspicious of the avatar and being angry at him at first. But on the inside he's just a lonely child that just wants someone to notice him because he feels inferior to his siblings. Sakura is the youngest so of course everyone will love her. Hinoka is busy training and Ryoma has oldest sibling rights.
Leo is like this but in a different way. Since he's a genius, everyone thinks that he doesn't need help, even in the hardest times. And then Corrin arrives and no one pays attention to Leo anymore because "omg new kid"
I guess I can relate to these 2 because me being the younger sibling, I feel inferior to my older sibling. My brother is really good at school and all that. Especially math. And me? Not so much. And I try to be as good as him, but I end up failing or my brother just ends up doing much better than me and I just feel like I made everyone disappointed. Especially the teachers who had my brother before and have me now. I was pretty good at drawing and art, but that's really it. Now when I think about it, of course I wouldn't be as good as my brother, he's 4 years older than me. And i'm me and me is pretty cool.
I'm literally Nina irl I'm not joking.
When I first recruited Nina and looked at her dialogue I was honestly surprised at how much I had alike with her Of course, I'm not a Robin Hood, but I day-dream a lot.
Like, a lot. It's really what I do when I'm bored, which is a lot because I didn't have too much to do at home.
And Nina may be this day dreaming girl, but she's also pretty mature and knows when she should be in serious mode. I find this pretty relevant in Heirs of Fate. And her death quote in the last chapter is one of the more realistic and mature ones.
Also fates made me this yaoi loving trash girl so thanks
The best girl right here.
There's is NO way you can say to my face that Soleil isn't adorable. I'm not joking, his girl made me question my sexuality when I first saw her in her paralogue ironically lol. She just wants everyone to have a good time and smile.More people should do this. Smiling to someone who's having a rough day can really change them. And the fact that she's not shy really is another plus for me. She's not afraid to make friends~
Also Severa!Soleil best Soleil
So a little bit of trivia about me is that Awakening was my first Fire Emblem game, with Fates being my second. I've only played 2 so I'm like a mega fraud lol.
But it took a lot of persistence from my brother to play Awakening.
Like, A LOT.
My brother loved Awakening. It was his first FE and was actually the second person on Youtube to do a classic Lunatic+ when the game came out. I'd look over his shoulder during car rides and see him playing Awakening. I didn't know what was happening, but one thing that really caught my attention were the shape-shifters. I was like "Holy **** that's actually really cool and their voices get warped omg I need this they're so cool and they don't use swords to stab people holy ****" One particular one was Nowi and she's still my favourite Awakening character because who doesn't like shiny dragons?
So now I really like shape-shifters because they're unique and all that jazz.
I remember when I was looking through the characters, this fluffy dude caught my eye. Kitsunes are already pretty cool on it's own, but actually making one of a character is even better. (pffff) He was actually the reason why I got interested in Fates.
So this dude gets special shape-shifter rights lol. But I still enjoy his character. He may seem narcissistic, but he's also about returning favours and being kind. All in all, just a comical, fluffy guy
Tbh I didn't even know he was a shape-shifter until I saw a couple videos and I fell in love with him.
His personality is adorable, with him being super interested with trash and his reaction when he sees some. And with him being a tsundere, but his tail shows otherwise. His design makes him look like some, classy wolf, but that ain't the case lol.
Even though Kaden is the one that made me interested in Fates, Keaton was the one that made me play the game. I didn't get my soul consumed by Awakening, so I wasn't too interested in Fates. But then this dude came in. I sorta wished he look more like a wolf, but then he'd look really similar to Kaden sooo.....
