Step aside spacies! This thread is for technical stuff that you can do with sheik just for fun. Im making a tech video with sheik soon and I wanted some cool ideas, I only got a few just screwing around on a few stages. so far...

Corneria fin, jump>walljump>turn around needle cancel edge hog on fin
Mushroom Kingdom, Hang in gap, do turn around needle cancels and keep grabbing ledges.

If it makes you feel better Tec0, I can't do it. Then again, I can't even turnaround edgehog consistently. I don't bother since shorthop reverse needlecancel is so fast
LOL

Haha if you mean the PC hog its really simple, its less useful with sheik but I think PC is a trick that I can see quite a few uses for.

That or I'm obsessive because its my favorite thing to do.

How is it less useful with Sheik?
It's the fastest way you can (realistically) grab the edge. :embarrass

It feels more clunky with sheik if you know what I mean.

Not saying its usefulness is obsolete but to me anyway it seems like its a lot slower than fox's and needle turnaround is better majority of the time.

I'm trying to space running off the edge and doing the up b trick to an area where I can platform cancel the lag. Only successful one so far was on FoD and it happened mid platform rise so it was pretty much an accident -_-

is it me or is sheik boring to pracctice (by urself)
-no tech chase practice
-the combos arent fun to practice alone (they are fun against ppl)

im consider myself 7.5/10 in tech stuffs, n i find myself practicing fox/falcon, although my main is sheik.....
so is it cause its boring to practice ur main or just sheik

I'm fine practicing my tech skill with Sheik.

For me personally I just practice my movements with her so they feel more natural to me.

I don't really practice anything in specific cuz I feel like I'm able to use all of the necessary technical things about her.

hey listen!

ok so u know how fox/falco/marth can do that stuff where they walk behind u (n u shiekd) and then attack u with f-smash(cause u drop ur shield)
i find it useful when ur playing well enough that it further mindgames ur opponent cause they are shielding trying to be defensive
but obviously u can get it once or MAYBE even twice on a top player (considering ur not abusing it and making it obvious)

so is there a sheik equivalent to this?
i dont like doin it with her f-smash cause its gay
im trying to do this but with d-smash, but its kind of tricky(hitting with it, not tech-wise)
doing it with a f-tilt is ok at high percentages

and even with the f-tilt i dont feel the "POW" that u feel when u f-smash with fox/falco/marth

Omar (aka BloodoftheFallen) aka the best Sheik after DSF and Isai on the west coast until like 2007 used to do slap (on shield) then run behind and fsmash. It would work back then cause it was back then. It might still work now and fsmash combos pretty good sometimes. You could do upsmash too, i mean all of her smashes are like equally punishable in that situation anyway

Also Sheik really doesn't have that "POW" move. It pretty much sux which is why i like falco.. dair to fsmash just feels so right (dair on the ground ofc)

a few things i wanna try is,

- continuing combos with weak bair (front part)
- tech chasing with fsmash (i think it could work like falcons dsmash.. but in both directions)
- killing with upsmash tip more often

will report back after this weekend

Kira - killing with upsmash isn't actually that difficult.

I've caught quite a bit. I'm sure if you go for it more its easier.

Try going for it by landing a dair. ;)

so true on that falco thing, even though i dont main/secondary him, doin it feels cool
i like killing floaties with upsmash tip, sometimes OOS i think (i remember samus approaching from the air n me doin it)
and up-smash is pretty cool in teams
ive never done f-smash with sheik ON PURPOSE, NEVER
but techchasing with f-smash MIGHT be pretty **** cool, now that i think about it
but wont the timing be a little tricky cause it has laggy startup? (i think)

Fsmashing with Sheik actually works in some situations....

Proper mindgames make it somewhat viable. You just have to put them in the position where them CC'ing is a bad idea.

- needle store onto platforms (like shine landing)
- f-air on platform -> shield drop -> f-air

I don't know if this is common knowledge -- I just found it today -- but if you have some needles stored and you're about to die, you can transform into Zelda and your needles will still be there when you respawn.

If they're scared of CC for some reason, I'd think a tilt combo would generally be more valuable.
Hence it being "somewhat viable."

I'm also sure the needle store -> die as Zelda -> still have needles when you come back is common knowledge. It's pretty much obsoleted by the fact that you lose your respawn invincibility if you down-b.

I fsmash when I know they are expecting a grab and will spot dodge, that way the second hit gets them and the positions are either neutral again or in my favor.

I'll admit that whenever I do it, it's because I meant to Ftilt or run off FAir and am trying to play faster than my technical ability will allow me to. I just find that it works in some of the situations I've meant to Ftilt in. lol

Them trying to spotdodge my ftilt is one of them.

If the first hit gets them, you're pretty well screwed though if they're not in the air.

Fsmash is obviously never a desired outcome for punishing a mistake.

ok so i was doin the "walk by opponent and fsmash" the way fox/falco/marth do
i did it against ppl BUT i noticed that since it is has some startup lag they are able to see it comin
cc for them definitely punishes this if they are at low percents
if it hits its pretty cool as most of the times u get a free tech chase

its a nifty little trick thats unnexpected, so feel free to pull it out once in a while casue if u spam it, its ery punishable

Fair enough.

I've F-smashed intentionally and had it work out for gimping about twice in my entire life because the first hit is untechable but it's also awful for hitting any decent sweetspot effort so it's pretty useless even for that.

I wish her F-smash was just the second hit.
