i was watching M2ks sheik in friendlies at smashtastrophe and he was giving vidjos peach some gay wall of fair work with frame perfect retreating full jump fairs anytime vidjo attempted an approach, i noticed that he would switch to a claw grip and just start spamming the **** out of it.

, i knew about the hitbox but i never really used it cuz i used A to get the aerial out and i would end up over shields due to run momentum and easily punished with a bair, and cstick was too slow, i was messing around with the claw but i feel it is too slow to be able to switch ur grip on the fly. A much more convenient way is to use some queendvs style full-hop control stick jumping. run up to opponent slam the stick up then back, cstik to the side. u can easily hit taller characters like peach/marth/falcon, and i was even able to hit fox, albeit inconsistently.

another use is some fullhop crossover bair work. u can hit even a standing jigglypuff, with the nonkicking leg of the bair during a rising fulljump bair, and u can follow with a falling bair.

edit- i also find control stick jump real useful for run off dj fair back onto the level, u can get the fair uber crispy and low to cover the sweetspot and lower, same with ledgehop bair

control stick jumping makes it much easier to get those frame pefect full jump aerials with neutral, or retreating DI. Happy spamming:)

its easier to hit shields, so u could at least use it consistently for shield pressure, and it will hit fox if he tries to jump. ive been using it as a safe transition from defense to offense as opposed to just spamming double fairs which isnt to hard to get around with a fast character

also, why Z, that has the same spacing problem as A, if u arent careful with the spacing and endup over or behind foxs shield u will easily get uair/baired.

also a lil trick i started to do is after the first fair many people will simply roll away from the second one if u spaced well, u can dj fully charged needles them out of their roll. or fastfall waveland into a grab.

. if u fastfall as soon as possible u cannot get a 2nd fair out, but u can waveland.

u CAN hit fox with the rising crossover bair, and the lingering bair hitbox gives u some protection as u cross over(if u hit a shield) as opposed to fair. i remember seeing amsah using this out of shield in some old vid

i used to use A, but the problem is u cant do them retreating, or with neutral DI, ending up directly over a shield is bad news

so let me get this straight, this is just hitting a standing enemy w/ two fairs in one full jump while moving away from the enemy?

I havent found this very practical so far, even if it connects which is hard to time u dont have much of a followup... its better with marth.

thus far after extensive practice i've hit fox with the first fair three times in a row and then couldn't do it all for another 2 hours.

it's pretty ridiculous. stupid fox being so short.

its prolly most practical vs ice climbers cuz direct shffls can be cced at low percents, u can just grab luigi.

i can do it but it seems like the percentages where they stay in range of the nair after being hit by the fair there is not enough stun and i get shieldgrabbed
Yeah it doesn't really combo but if you do a SH fair and it misses your opponent will sometimes run in to attack you and you can nair. Or you can do retreating SH fair => nair and they may attack you after the fair thinking you're vulnerable.

Only time it really seems to combo is if the fair knocks them down and then flub the tech, you can often hit with the nair. It's pretty situational.

im sad i didn't find this earlier to say

this is like the first thing i learned to do when learning the character

you can space nair to where they can't grab you (except with characters with stupid grab ranges)
