Haha thanks. I like to think my Jiggs has gotten better, but dunno. Your Marf has gotten better though. Good stuff at the tourney!
Thanks man, I appreciate it. :) I want to play you more.

I'll put it this way, Poffy Style:

HEY GUYS!

WHO WOULD PAY $5 VENUE FOR A TOURNEY IN WATERBURY? I NEED TWENTY NAMES.

/pof
You love me for doing that and you know it. :)

I'd go.

Chris, as if I don't say this enough, you continue to amaze me. De-loused is arguably the best cd of the last decade.
You actually don't say it enough.

Nobody says it enough.

Because I can't get enough. Can't get enough of your love, Max.

But yeah. The later albums were kinda meh but De-loused knocked me off my *** for almost a year. While I still prefer At The Drive-In, Mars Volta proved themselves with this album. The Santana vibe on half the tracks doesn't hurt, either.

Yo Matt. To make your searching a lil easier for you:

The Mars Volta - Deloused in the Comatorium
At the Drive In - Relationship of Command

Two different bands, two very distinct styles, has some of the same members tho. Also, if you're interested in my fave song by Volta, youtube "Cygnus.... Vismund Cygnus" or something like that, it should pop up. ****ing crack cocaine.

So I was trying to teach Demetri how to jc grab from shine with Falco and this was our conversation:

Me: *in extremely condescending tone* You seriously can't do it?

Demetri: Yeah, or at least not consistently

Me: Can you jc grab consistently?

Demetri: Yeah of course *Demetri shows me like 20/20 times he does it.

Me: Alright, then you should have no problems.

Demetri: Why can't I do it RAWRRRRR

Me: Dude, it's not that ****ing hard just jc grab on frame 8 out of your shine GAWWDDD

Demetri: *in silly voice* Oh. Hey. Mewtwoking

US: LOLOLOLOL for long period of time

I want to expect better of you, but I know not to
Normally, I'd call Cog a music snob and laugh at him here, but aside from small doses of Owl City, LP and Alien Ant Farm... uhg that's a pretty awful batch of music

I really don't get how MSI has any sort of following, they're so unbelievably unbearable to me...

street light manifesto, goldfinger, and new found glory are all decent, lay off
new found glory actually released a hardcore album under a different name, and it's ridiculous that it was legit and hardcore kids went to their shows knowing it was really just nfg.
the rest of that list i can't defend.

i facepalm at most people's suggestions here anyway, no offense. i know musical tastes are completely subjective and everyone's aesthetic understandings are different, but people posting boring crap and making fun of other people's boring crap amuses me greatly. what i mean is...silly hipsters, elitism is for pop music.

The International Superheroes of Hardcore? (or whatever)?

I will give that band this: one of the dudes used to be in Shai Hulud which is kind of amazing lol

In/Casino/Out was a great album, but I'll agree with Max that Relationship of Command really was a masterpiece. I think I actually wore the CD out, if that's even possible.

Also, normally I'm down with Matt on music, since we're both D&B heads, but man, all those bands look terrible to me. Hadouken! ain't bad though. At least, when Noisia remixes them. >_>

I'm not a musical elitist; I just have no patience for good music.

EDIT: Oh wait, Cake is legit.

I once met a hipster who read Pitchfork Media daily and insisted that I know nothing about music because I don't think Joanna Newsom is avant garde/amazing.

i can't remember the last time i used avant garde POSITIVELY, anyhow. usually when something is revolutionary/creative enough it speaks for itself. and often when something is trying to hard it's avant garde in the worst way possible.

speaking of shai hulud, cog, one of the members is from my hometown and just moved back here. apparently someone i knew from highschool is in a band with him now, because he answered a craigslist (or something) post from the shai hulud guy asking who wanted to start a hardcore band. hilarious.

De-Loused is ****ing beast-mode.

My old ska band opened for Streeylight Manifesto like 6 years ago. They put on a sweet show.

Cake is definitely legit.

In college my jazz theory professor had a horrible Boston accent and said "avant garde" many times each class. I'm sure you can all imagine what that was like, but don't think about it too much... I can never think of it the same way again.

I love music talk:

Zoso; I'm with you. I really only like a handful of songs from the rest of their repertoire (although I like most of Bedlam in Goliath). Yeah, not really a big Volta fan nowadays, just a cynical old douche.

Wes; Anthology is so underated, AAF all day nucka.

SleepyK; I saw "The sound of animals fighting" on that lastfm link, The Tiger and the Duke is like, the most **** cd ever (or at least 'changing suns')

@ Cog: ****.
