I would TOTALLY read that now Jam if I was not downloading the entire metal gear soundtrack discography.

This song Calling In the Night on the Portable Ops game for the psp is BEYOND good.

Will read later Jam

After playing Brawl for the first time in about a week today I learned that Toon Link and GAW are great teammates.
hmm so that's why you guys were teaming up on me in those 3 mans? lol yeah jk I had to go immediately so ggz CT peoples

Something lately has been bothering me and a person on another anime board brought it to my attention during his pseudo-rant.

Heres a story that was once told to me, it proves the point of my annoyance.

The story goes on to say that the survivors go to the church to prey for their lord in thanks for saving them, then the church falls on them.

But thats not the point my point is it seems to me that today almost every member of an Abrahamic religion preys for either selfishness and sometimes they seem to prey out of arrogance.

The story I pointed out such points to arrogance in thinking god has bless them, what exactly made them so special and the other 90% not so fortunate? It just baffles me to think that anyone would have this sort of mentality.

Even looking past that preying out of selfishness just to me seems to defeat the whole purpose of a prayer at least from my perspective. I can't tell you how often I've seen or heard people prey to god to let their favorite team win, or prey to let them win the lottery as if god owes them some special treatment over the other millions of people who are in your exactly same situation.

/rant

I just wanted to get that off my chest and I'm to lazy to go to live journal and do it. No offense to anyone who actually preys and is of an Abrahamic religion since I know many of you are lol.
prAys. unless it was an intentional typo lol.
I've never ever ever ever heard or knew someone who prayed for teams winning, lottery winning, ect. The most selfish thing I hear people pray for all the time is healing someone who's sick, probably related to them.
Pretty much every Christian I know would pray for the families of those who died in that situation, and donate $$ (or themselves if they were there) to help. Well I mean you can do both though, right? Be thankful that you survived and be sorrowful over the tragedy? I guess thankful is different than *proud*.
Praying out of selfishness is not good you're right.

Religion was hardly an economic tool. >_>

anyway I'm sure a lot of religious members wouldn't appreciate calling it dumb, religious tolerance goes a long way. (I'm sure cog is gonna lol @ me saying this. )
lol

So last night, my friend Franky and I, after waiting at the bus stop in the rain for 30+ mins, ended up walking to TBG from Bob's. After we reached our destination, he played Halo, and I looked through my friend's Magic cards. About an hour and some change later, a car sped onto the highway (84 West, right behind the store) ramming through the fence, Hitting The Transformer That Ran The Whole Strip Of Stores, AND KNOCKING IT OFF OF ITS FOUNDATION. While the car hit this, no one heard it, and everyone was still playing their consoles/computers, including Franky. The only way people got attention towards this was because some people went out for a bogie break. And because of the transformer getting wrecked, over 20 of Mike's computers got fryed. This was upsetting to everyone there. And considering the fact that no one could run any thing, and the cops told Mike he had to, TBG had to close early. And we were almost stranded in Vernon, 2 towns away from home. But thankfully, a gamer there was from EH, so we managed to get a ride home for $10. Even though his car smelled like "behind your ears after sweating from gym class", it was worth it.

Trademark, I would strongly encourage you to post about the African Diaspora. Alot of people will never learn about those types of things unless someone tells them.
i will have one written sometime during the week when i'm in one of those moods

2 things about this post

1. "pray" and "prey" are 2 completely different things

2. your looking at religion from a very bad angle: the individual. people are people and they will *** up
Religion was an excuse for war. What is wars purpose?
conquest.

Lol really? Don't live near the Boston area too? I would imagine there would be a lot of hardcore Red Sox fans who would swear on their mothers ashes God is a Sox Fan.

The story I offered was simply an over exaggeration on how my mom and many people in her generation feel. I'm sure it's no surprise that I'm an atheist however this doesn't stop her from telling me god has blessed her and our family through tough times.

Then again all I have to do is mention Ethiopia and she goes away for a month.

Praying out of selfishness is not good you're right.
I never understood the whole meaning behind prayer it just seemed like something that would promote selfish actions.

lol

Yeah I'd thought you'd like that. LOL

I wrote that up very quickly, when I do that I get words mixed up. >_>

I understand a community as a whole will often times be in better light then an individual I mean look it smashboards. as a whole we're alright but take just one random member and you often times wonder why the **** you even come here.

But I'm sure you understand what I was getting at though right?

conquest.

Wars happen from lack of resources, when theres lack of resources there's only one logical conclusions. Take over the area with those resources. LOL
