"This thing called the Internet lets people do all sorts of wild things like look at porn and play RTS games over it. Pretty hip, really. "

That's the most ******** quote ever. The reason people play over LAN most of the time is to eliminate lag. They're ****ing stupid.

Also, I almost fell asleep during Transformers 2.

Ah no, I'd probably want to turn it off :(. Would it still work??

Also, my brother told me when you hack a PSP there is a chance of it "bricking" aka dying D:? Is this true?

Take notes? What on Earth for? I highly suggest you fall asleep during that middle part. And didn't you say you didn't like the first one? You're REALLY not gonna like this one LOL
#1 I've been talking so much trash about it I need to see it. I know this goes against the American precedent of ignorant outrage but oh well

#2 Notes: I'm making 2 columns: ******** and Offensive. I will make a mark in the appropriate column each time the movie corresponds.

edit My wife is writing a newsletter to 50,000 people. I'm trying to get her to put a subliminal "poop your pants this wednesday" message in it

Dude, the two robots that are walking stereotypes are going to make pages and pages of offensive checks for you lol.

Also, I'd only check the "cool" column three times. Yeah, this movie doesn't have much to offer haha

o.o Well, the hack lasts until you turn it off. You can set it back up in like, 2 minutes after you turn it back on.

And no, you can only brick it if you do something wrong. I never do it wrong.
Sometimes.

When they said "uhhh, we can't read lol," my jaw hit the floor. Did Bay seriously think that was a good idea?

I too almost fell asleep during it, I actually nodded off for about 5 minutes but never hit fully asleep :p

I held back a scream and began pulling my hair out and punching my friend in the shoulder during that scene. I slide down in my chair until I couldn't see the bottom half of the screen thinking, "This can't be happening, there's just no way", over and over until they stopped talking. The movie contains many moments that made me do this. Lots of cringeworthy stuff in here for very different reasons. Like Bay's shameless self advertising YET AGAIN with the Bad Boys II poster in Shia's room. If you recall, in the first movie when the Autobots land the fat kid with the camera makes a stupid reference to Armageddon, which of course is another Bay film.

i don't see what's wrong with directors/actors making references to their other contributions in a movie

when done in a film widely considered 'good', it's applauded and considered fun trivia

but when done here, it makes you want to fall out of your chair?

and yeah those two dudes were a massively stupid idea, but i don't see how anything like that should be considered 'offensive', considering the number of widely popular movies that pass ridiculous stuff as "artistic" nowadays

I think the only thing that really kept me watching the movie was that there was an annoying character named "Leo." I was waiting for someone to yell "SHUT THE **** UP, LEO," because it's a popular phrase amongst NE Brawl players >_>

When it's a bad movie, you start noticing other things instead of concentrating on the film because it's BAD. So distracting things like a Bad Boys II poster taking up a lot of the shot makes the experience even worse. It wasn't just that, there were PLENTY of other little things that were annoying and stupid in this movie that I probably wouldn't have cared about as much in a better film.

The temp thing is only for the 3000 series.
That can't brick.

The 2000 and 1000 are permanent and I won't brick it.

What are you talking about? Exactly? ??
any time anybody EVER alludes to "the **** scene"

and even garden variety killing (it's a 'shame' that killing can be considered garden variety) should be MUCH more offensive than illiterate robots

you want a more specific example?

anything by tarantino

i'm not actually 'offended' by any of his stuff, but i'm annoyed that people can line up to suck his **** while simultaneously being angered that two robots can't read an ancient language that is old enough that it can only be read by like 2 robots alive

'offensive' is simply a stupid term to judge a movie by, that is all; i already agreed that that **** was dumb

That would be true if the robots stated they couldn't read the ancient language. If you recall, they said "We don't READ" AND ENDED IT THERE. How much more offensive could you POSSIBLY get? Do you know how sometimes you can feel the general atmosphere and know exactly what the audience you're seeing the movie with is thinking even if they only express it lightly? WELL I COULD ****ING TELL EVERYONE IN THE THEATER WAS APPALLED BY THAT ****

edit- everyone wants that sign pakman

good lord, why would they ever have needed to read? (speaking of which, wtf do autobots do when they're not decepticon-hunting)

you haven't addressed why that's any more offensive than someone getting *****/murdered/tortured

Pulp Fiction is amazing.

It's more offensive because right when they start talking you know they're god **** walking black stereotypes. So you listen to everything they say with that in mind since it's pounded into your head with EVERY line they say. THAT'S why it's so offensive.

How on earth is someone getting *****/murdered/tortured offensive? WHO ARE YOU OFFENDING EXACTLY WITH THAT?

edit- Mogwai this isn't the only reason the movie is bad. It's one of the many, many things that contribute to it's awfulness. The Kill Bill example is no good because you'd have to name about 30 other things like that in the film to even come close to what we're arguing about Transformers.

did anyone seeing the movie think "wow those robots can't read; ergo, black people can't read" (besides you?)

you need to caaalm down grandma, you're probably the most PC-obsessed person on smashboards

of·fen·sive (-fnsv)
adj.
1. Disagreeable to the senses
2. Causing anger, displeasure, resentment, or affront

I could see all those things applying to ****, murder, and torture. I am not saying the robots were not offensive (haven't seen the movie), but offensive things are not limited to racism sexism etc..

There's a **** scene in Transformers 2?

Are you saying that modern audiences should be offended by the gratuitous amounts of carefree violence that litter movie screens? In that case I agree but two wrongs do not make a right.

Is Tarantino explicitly racist? ... All molestation/**** scenes are meant in his films are meant to be disgusting. He does glorify violence to a point, though. Though one could argue that cinema (AKA FAKE) violence shouldn't be equated in any way to the real thing.

The "we don't do much readin" line is just a small example, from what I gather.

Yes, because people who have been murdered will certainly complain about Tarantino films.
Well murder is pretty common place in film but **** and torture are generally more of a big deal.

I recently saw a crappy horror movie (Last house on the left I think) with my girlfriend where the main female character got *****. The shot was pretty explicit without showing genitals or anything but I would say I was a little offended. Like that is definitely something I don't go to movies to see.

Violence in movies is fine as long as it adds or is important to the story (i.e. Saving Private Ryan). I don't agree with explicit amounts of torture porn in garbage such as the Saw franchise. Movies like that should never be made.

Yeah, like racism in movies can add a lot when it is addressed within the movie. Examples include Crash and American History X. But when there a blatant racist undertone that goes unaddressed it can be pretty offensive.

no

I'm saying that if you're offended by the robots' accent/vocabulary/illiteracy, you should be more offended by the robots killing people and blowing stuff up

Is Tarantino explicitly racist? ... All molestation/**** scenes are meant in his films are meant to be disgusting. He does glorify violence to a point, though. Though one could argue that cinema (AKA FAKE) violence shouldn't be equated in any way to the real thing.
If we want to tread into more controversial grounds, I don't think there's anything 'wrong' with the idea of racism (this is a giant can of worms and will completely derail this discussion obviously)

On a simpler more 'rational' level, murder/****/torture is clearly a more significant issue than racism, and my only issue is that people get 'offended' by racism instead of other things

I personally am not 'offended' by any of it, as I wasn't exactly caught off guard when beatrix kiddo ripped out some chick's eye

The "we don't do much readin" line is just a small example, from what I gather.
Yes, the characters are clearly meant to be uneducated, inner city youths... i'm just saying that it is far from being the most 'offensive' thing in the film or society

In the current manifestation of entertainment and media, racism is more socially offensive then murder and torture. Whether that is morally wrong or right is another matter but I still think the statement holds water.
