I predict Nus will be in my pool at EVO.

I think we'll be busy or over Chris' on Sunday.
:(

I have SAT's on Saturday next weekend... but it lets out around 2ish...which is basically when Mike wakes up. So, are you doing anything next Saturday?

EDIT: 1111 post!

Bleh, I can tell I suck at this game even worst than before. I mean I could always tell I was bad, but playing today really showed that I am even worst than I used to be. I did ok at evo but I just got lucky in all my matches. There turned out to be no pools so that Cort couldn't **** me in it cause he would obviously be in my pool. >_>

I gotta step it up again, I don't think I should be anywhere near top 5 in ct right now... but stepping it up will occur after I surpass my little brother in leveling... in ms. ^_^ This will take a few months... that is if he doesn't level at all from now until then. So I most likely will be doing no stepping.

Squam, that's what i said to Cort, and he said No. Now I no longer need it for aerials. Plus I think it's virtually impossible to shorthop double fair with the c-stick. though I do believe I'll still use it for the OCCASIONAL fsmash lol.

I never said that. It's easy with practice.

Guess who beat Chu Dat and Cactuar today and made top 8 at EVO? 8D

To clear some things up...

Cort, when I was at your house I said "don't you need to use the c-stick to space fair with marth if DIing backwards" and your reply was "No, I just use A and the control stick" that was all I said, and I'm pretty sure that's accurate.

Aesir, the original statement I made was half serious half facetious, I still use Marth, I no longer use the C-stick with Aerial attacks, I will obviously still use it for smash attacks of the forward variety.

Whatever happened to subtlety?

Cort: "No cheering"

We just have to wait a month xP

Nus...did you ever win me a CTcon pass? Hahahaha.

Good **** Cort!

I may be bringing Cort and Forward to Smashtality...I'm not sure if I can yet, though...because my friend is coming from PA to visit me that week, and staying at my house I believe. Though, I'm not 100% sure yet.

^ lol its easier though, why would you make it harder for yourself? lol
Getting better at the game is also harder than sucking, so why would I want to go on sucking is the question. But seriously, Aiser, if you can Short hop Double Fair with Marth using the C-Stick, then kudos, but I have tried relentlessly and cannot, however, I can do it every time with the A button, also, every one of my attacks now come out faster by using the A button because it is closer to the jump button. So, although the C-stick might seem easier to use when shffling aerials, it actually hinders the speed at which the attacks come out. I've play-tested the he ll out of both ways, and the A-button, for me, has a way higher success rate.

Appreciate your concern lol.

Dorf on aiser's account:
Everyone stop saying Eric, because that's me. If you aren't me and are being called Eric tell everyone to stfu.

Chewman I challenge you to an Eric MM.

Aiser back on his accout. >_>
Lol I'm better then you, you should listen to me. >_>

Who cares about shdfair? seriously its not useful really unless you're already comboing then the spacing really doesn't matter as much. And it really doesn't hinder the speed at all I'm loads faster since I switched >_>

Hey, are there ever any local smashfests in the central CT area? I'd like to play some actual humans instead of CPs but it just seems like maybe 5-6 people here get together and play.

I went to Evo on Sat. and it was kind of fun but terribly organized, i.e. 5 TVs, no warmups, no friendlies, horrible seeding, half-@ssed rule enforcement, no chairs etc. although it was fun to see some pros play live. I got knocked out after 3 rounds and had to play Lord HDL's Marth 2nd round.......I thought his tag seemed familiar........ 3rd round I went almost dead even on a Falco w/ Marth but lost......my first time playing a Falco that could SHL decently......:psycho: It was a good learning experience and not too bad for going in cold and almost never playing anyone besides my brother. Also funny to see Mew2King and PC going "auto-pilot" as Wes called it. Funny how such a badly run tourney attracted so many good people.

I really liked the sportsmanship of the smash players in general, nobody was an *** to me. It was annoying paying 30 bucks to play 8 games of smash on blurry discolored TVs but at least I got to see a lot of decent matches......including that ridiculous Pika win vs. Chu where Chu lost a stock 3 secs into the match from a neutral B.

Anyway, I'd like to know if anyone has regular free smashfests for fun where I can play lots of friendlies and get some experience. If not, someone should get some going on the weekends or something b/c it sounds like the regular players just all go to eachother's houses and blow tons of $$$ on gas. If you have any info PM me please.

Name: Tak
Chars used: Fox/Falco, Marth, Falcon, Doc, Link, etc. anyone but Pika/Pichu/Mewtwo/Kirby

Central CT doesn't usually have smashfests, we just play together.

I believe the dojo website has already said CT was top tier in brawl, no need to nominate, silly bailey.

DAYUM BLUE
So you guys just go to eachother's houses all the time? I guess there's not too many players here.......looks like maybe 10-15 regulars. Are the local tournaments or smash gathering dates posted in this thread?

Also I just had to say that pic is disturbing on so many levels but I give you both respect for the costume detail...........you even grew a Snake beard.

What part of CT are you from? Only a hand full of us post and only Cort and Brookman are good, but there are tons of CT smashers.

Have you been to any of the Manchester tournies or any of the ESTICLE series?

bloo's an awesome snake. he'll be an even better snake in brawl. ultimate frisbee rocks, especially when you play with good people. And people never argue about the rules.

Someone needs to drive me to Smashtality so I can keep beating Chu and sometimes Cactuar.

Blue, what are you doing next weekend? Nus?

I'm in the burbs near Farmington about 30 mins south of Hartford. I went to Evo (1st tourney and actually 1st time playing humans besides my brother) for fun to see what competitive smash was like so now I have the itch to play more people. Evo was frustrating with the disorganization, no freeplay and bad TVs but still cool to see some top players. I think I saw some people from CT.......I think I heard someone say "Aesir" to the guy screaming joking around and having an aneurysm playing a Samus, I remembered seeing that name on the boards. Also good to see how I played under pressure.....I noticed I held back a bit much, and stupidly counterpicked Marth w/ my garb Sheik instead of Falco.

Anyway, hope to play some of you when I get the chance. I wanna know if I'm any good or not, can't really tell from no warm up and an hour or two between sets.
