Good news, Sakurai has declared that he and his staff will work on Ultimate remotely, so the DLC should remain on schedule, while they stay safe at home at the same time. All that's left is the issue of third-party approval, although that depends on how many first-parties this pass has, and whether or not said third-parties shifted entirely into remote communication.

Oh, yeah, I remember those codenames! I remember thinking of multiple characters aside from those codenames, like a military fighter with tank treads for arms which I called Shell Shock, the Man-Artillery. As for the codenames, I always imagined Plant to have an ability that heals them over time at the cost of rooting them into the earth, like a more versatile version of Master Mummy's shield-healing.

Of course. I think thats why she may have the best chance, as really no other fighter has some very close range attacks. Otherwise the fighter would be purely mid to long range with no way to deal with rush down in your face fighters

Well, E3 has just shot themselves in the foot, so just about everyone is going to stream their own Direct. With or without IGN.

You know...this got me thinking:

If Min Min managed to make it into Smash Bros, how will this affect her Spirit? Assuming they break their old habits, the normal spirit would simply not get a label, while the Smash render does, I guess.

Even if the fighter in question doesn't have close-range attacks in canon, the Smash staff can still make some up, it wouldn't be the first time.

I can just see the headlines right now: "Leaked ZOOM call with Sakurai mentions Min Min in Fighter Pass Volume 2 alongside many other names"

Now obviously, a single Zoom call might not reveal every fighter in the Volume 2 Pass, but honestly? That would be nice.

That being said, I don't think they'll use Zoom. After hearing all those stories about it (I won't get into the details, but let's say it's...rather nasty), I'd say they'd find other ways to communicate remotely.

What system does Beenox use? We completely stopped hearing about any concrete Nitro-Fueled leaks (aside from some bread crumbs), after the staff started working remotely.

I'd honestly be surprised if the embargo is lifted this Summer, our Summer vacation plans have already been cancelled so that I'm not going anywhere for yet another year in a row.

Sabi is currently suffering from an unspecified illness that hurts their throat, so they haven't been tweeting much. Even without that, they retired from Nintendo leaks permanently over a month ago.

MandyCan is...MandyCan, in other words, nobody worth hearing from.

LaxChris/Blocked Content, see above, but ten times worse.

Jon Cartwright hasn't explicitly shown any knowledge about leaks recently, so his otter habits don't mean anything now.

This leaves us with Jeff Grubb, who is pretty new at this leaking thing and probably won't do it much, because it is too stressful.

So, we might not hear anything at all until release in the next two months. If so, the second pass speculation scene will be the opposite of the first pass'.

It's likely that it could be a fake leak done entirely out of guesswork, based on what people want the most right now. Like all those times Cuphead on Switch was brought up before it eventually became real.

Also, with the entire industry slowing down to a crawl, it'll just make it all the more obvious that these text "leaks" come out of nothing but the anons' bums, and are desperate for attention.
