Try to avoid coming down in the middle of the stage while recovering. You do it at 1:05 in the first vid and 1:38 in the second, and get punished both times. Other times (2:58 in the fourth vid) it is a good thing. Stop using dancing blade if they aren't in it or shield - it's not going to hit them. I noticed that sometimes you dolphin slashed the wrong way (first vid, and your second death in the third vid) so try to work on that too. Nice shield break in that fourth vid.

Those MK videos were harsh, you've got a couple of things to work on against him.

The first is getting the timing for your grab release down, there were several times when you missed those due to improper spacing or just not dashing out of the release. This is probably our biggest weapon against MK mains, a non-diminished tippered fair can destroy MK since he's so light.

Second is challenging MK's b moves, most of the time it's just better to stay away. Instead of trying to counter his tornado, get out of it and wait on him to finish, then punish him during the afterlag. It's the same thing for his drill, just wait it out and punish him. If you miss the chance, no big deal, you'll get another one, we all know how b-happy most MKs are.

Finally, try to incorporate counter into the match just a little bit more. After you play MK for a while, you learn that a lot of his moves are very easy to predict, especially the glide (you challenged that, too). And if you can't get the counter off, you can just shield through a lot of his moves and retaliate with an up-b since most MKs follow up one attack with another, and another because of his speed. Abuse those invincibility frames.

MK is a hard match-up for Marth, just be patient and wait on him to make a mistake. Once you get the timing of his moves down, it'll be easier, but until then, play it safe and wait for openings.

They are the epitome of evil.

That and there is no point in critiquing them since it's a ditto and you have to play very differently then you normally would. Plus dittos for any character are just really dumb.

hey Chaos i live in Fairfax too. wut high school do/did you go to?

On topic: really nice Marth. I only watched the first match, and my only critique would be that a couple of times you do some unsafe attacks at bad times and get punished for it. overall great job though.

Is your name Rich by any chance? I remember someone in our school named Rich was supposedly really good at melee, but I never actually got to see him play. I believe he graduated the same year as you.
