*dies*
I swear if you don't get on aim, JC
Chill out bitty, I don't get home till 5
Ask JC for more info, he's the one developing it/hyping it. XD
Just one of many, but I can answer most questions.
I heard you cant Wavedash out of shield
and if this is true
and you guys aren't planning to fix it
I'm sticking with brawl minus
Dude don't be dumb. Obviously we wouldn't leave something like that out on purpose. And that's a terrible reason to not play a game.
So basically the deal is, Sakurai dumbed down the controls massively for Brawl to accomodate Wiimotes. This is why DI is off. Instead of an analog circle of directions you can move the stick in, it's a square that fits inside the circle. So 2/3 or so movement of the stick counts as full movement (horizontally or vertically), which is why it's easier to screw up tapping vs tilting in Brawl.
Also, holding the stick at exactly 45 degrees counts as full up and full sideways. Thus holding the stick at 45 degrees away is always (yes
always) optimum DI in Brawl. It's not perpendicular to the launch angle like in Melee. Thanks again Sakurai for dumbing Brawl down even further
Back to the WD OOS thing, it feels off because L and R count as the same button in Brawl. You can't press one while the other is being held down, unlike Melee. So if you are shielding with L and you try to WD out with R, it won't work. That however doesn't mean you can't WD OOS. If you let go of the shield button before you airdodge, or if you use the same button for both (which is what I do and why I've never had this problem), it works just fine.
Sadly, our coders have not been able to figure out how to fix this mess yet. But as big as these things may sound, the game is perfectly playable now. I'd love to see these things get fixed but I could very easily live with it if they never did.
Wow! Seriously?! Oh, I am so hyped now! X3
Unfortunately for me, I haven't touched Melee in years, so assuming I get my hands on Project M when it's finished, I'm gonna have to relearn Melee's mechanics and feel again. XD
Playing Melee is a fantastic way to get ready for Project M. Many Melee pros have told us that the transition is nearly seamless (aside from a few specific issues, most of which we have fixed).
Well, considering PM isn't really going for originality, that it is bent on imitating Melee down to the minutest of possible details, playing Melee in the meantime isn't too bad of an idea.
Just wanna say, this is Melee 2.0, not 1.1. We are keeping some of the (very few) good ideas from Brawl, like RARing and glidetossing.
I really wish I could just play this **** on my own time tho...Jceas lives to far away from me to be driving to play everyday and I always have something to do on the weekend
Could you make it to UMBC on Wednesday afternoons?
Sounds like a great idea. By the sounds of it, Project M looks to be user-friendly.
A rhetorical question, but will it have wi-fi capabilities?
You can play it on wifi but I don't know why you'd want to. Sakurai built a mandatory 6 frame button delay into Brawl's wifi and Melee is far too fast-paced for that to work.
