Why should Sonic, ZSS, and Falcon be shafted like that? Why is Sonic only at 50% (a whole 25% less than Falcon, who is not that much slower than him groundspeed wise in the first place)? What makes Zamus so broken that we need to nerf her Physics?

What makes Falco deserve that 2% (how much does that even accomplish)? And Ganon? Do they play better with it? If so, why is it okay for them to get additional buffs (especially Falco who is not a terrible character), but not the above 3?

I can sort of understand the need to buff Ganon, but we should be buffing his moveset not his physics (unless we plan on optimizing momentum for every character, because anything else would be unfair IMO). Likewise, I don't think we should be using physics to nerf characters (or in this case, control how much they get buffed), because you are essentially changing their overall gameplay (or in this case, potential gameplay) by limiting their options. If we need to do nerfs after this, we can talk about nerfs to the characters' movesets (and maybe weight or something), not the physics that their entire game will come to revolve upon. Sonic and Falcon will thoroughly expand around the momentum code, because that is simply the nature of fast characters (to revolve around things that make you move fast). Limiting their potential early on is just going to stifle their metagame potential.

How about your try it first so you can get some firsthand experience in there?

Experience > numbers.

How do you put "80%" in the code?

I don't want to try it at Kupo's values yet. I want to try it at the default 80% and see what's so incredibly detrimental to Sonic's game that he must have it lowered.

Okay feedback.

Falcon can be left alone at 80% probably.

Sonic needs a slight increase from my current set (45%): 50 or 55% should hopefully suffice

ZSS: whats wrong with her at 80?

Everyone else played excellent. Also, v11 feels polished as hell!

He can jump across WW in a sh.

Its kind of stupid.
Yeah, I tried 80% and it did seem a little extreme. I honestly liked the off stage options a lot, it was the on stage game that was the problem. Though I kinda found ways to work around it, I just jumped too far, and in order to do a normal momentum jump I had to wait until after my initial dash (even though Sonic can side B->shield cancel. It still didn't work), leaving a big hole where he can't really hit.

Also, am I the only one who noticed that you retain momentum when you jump out of a shield? That honestly seems really, really dumb (crouching works though).

I'll play around with some values tomorrow, but 50% just seems too small. I'm mostly looking for dash cross up options, distance covered, combo ability, ect.

Right now I am testing the following:

Character Specific Momentum Code
55% sonic
70% ZSS
75% falcon
85% ganon
80% everyone

Samus is kind of ridiculous.

When you can combo Charge Blast to zair to Dair at 55% from across the stage. Its kind of nuts.

Samus is the bairplane.

Ok, seriously. We need to rework this code. Its way too high and stupid. It makes aerials unpunishable and really doesnt help combos.

Here are some new values:

2F46096D 146D2260
0660FF40 00000000

Falcon 85%
Ike 75%
Fox 75%
Ganon 85%
Sonic 55%
Everyone 50%

EDIT: I came to a realization. I DON"T feel that the momentum code bases anything from your dash speed at all. I think it provides a constant force to all characters which would explain the weird ZSS moving faster in the air than the run and why ganon doesn't get any momentum unless its 80. This is what I propose. We actually go through each character and custom fit the momentum to the characters dash speed.

Sweet. Someone else that agrees. Every char needs char specific momentum.

The initials at 80 were way too ridiculous.
