Who Chrom, Shulk, and Chorus Men.What if the remaining three newcomers are secret characters?
Massive amounts of realism.Precisely my point, massive amounts of pessimism all over this thread. Stop bumming me out guys.
Yes, but okay maybe just Chorus Men.Who Chrom, Shulk, and Chorus Men.
I find it kind of unlikely.
Sakurai said there will be less newcomers than before, expect just that.Precisely my point, massive amounts of pessimism all over this thread. Stop bumming me out guys.
Rhythm Heaven is a pretty popular franchise, I don't think they will be the G&W secret character of this game.Yes, but okay maybe just Chorus Men.
Honestly, I never heard of Rhythm Heaven until somewhat recently. It just never caught my attention.Rhythm Heaven is a pretty popular franchise, I don't think they will be the G&W secret character of this game.
False, he said not expect as many newcomers as Brawl. Brawl had 18 newcomers. With the gematsu leak we'll have 12 total. That leaves a possibility of 5 more newcomers. Optimistically speaking of course ;D.Massive amounts of realism.
Sakurai said this roster would add less newcomers than usual.
Quality > Quanitity.
Well Miis are 3 different movesets.False, he said not expect as many newcomers as Brawl. Brawl had 18 newcomers. With the gematsu leak we'll have 12 total. That leaves a possibility of 5 more newcomers. Optimistically speaking of course ;D.
I never even heard of it until Gematsu, and they have what three games? Plus they would be WTF! characters.Rhythm Heaven is a pretty popular franchise, I don't think they will be the G&W secret character of this game.
That looks like what they're doing.I'm still baffled why there won't be too many newcomers this time around. Especially with a large company such as Namco-Bandai helping with the development. I hope they pay more attention to balancing due to there not being as many newcomers.
With Mega-Lucario, Mega-Charizard, Giga-Mac, and Mega-Mewtwo (X or Y) in addition. That makes it 20 newcomers if we go even more technical.Well Miis are 3 different movesets.
So that's 14 newcomers.
Maybe a new Ganondorf set and Mewtwo returning, technically speaking that can be 16 "newcomers".
Well it's actually decently popular in Japan and in America while you weren't looking.I never even heard of it until Gematsu, and they have what three games? Plus they would be WTF! characters.

Neither of those are newcomers so no, and the mii fighters take up one slot so also no. 12 newcomers.Well Miis are 3 different movesets.

The Miis do technically count as 3. Pokemon Trainer counted as 3 in Brawl. Sheik and ZSS were also considered separate. Sakurai, despite the 35 slots, said that Brawl has 39 characters.Neither of those are newcomers so no, and the mii fighters take up one slot so also no. 12 newcomers.

I absolutely agree with you.Honestly, this argument sounds kinda pointless, we get however many newcomers we get, simple as that.
Speculation in its entirety is "pointless", but that doesn't mean it ain't fun......most of the time.Honestly, this argument sounds kinda pointless, we get however many newcomers we get, simple as that.
Actually did Sakurai actually say exactly that there will be a lot less characters than Brawl, or was it just implied?Sakurai said this roster would add less newcomers than usual.

-Mechon (Xenoblade)Lets talk about something different. What characters are you hoping to see appear in smash run as enemies? Here's my wishlist:
-Metool from mega man (confirmed)
-A really unfitting pokemon (Confirmed via Petil)
-SSE enemies (confirmed)
-Risen from FEA
-Ghosts from Luigi's mansion
Doubt it. It's in Nintendo's best intention to keep the momentum now that the Smash 3DS release is 3 months away (in Japan at least), and not revealing a newcomer from here on would kill it.We only had four unlockable newcomers in Brawl, one of which was accidentally leaked by Nintendo.
It wouldn't surprise me if the three remaining Gematsu characters were all unlockables.
New character?
I'm not too sure. We'll see, I mean I have no idea when tomorrow and Sunday it is, but I guess we can see what happens.New character?
....On a weekend?New character?
No one ever said reveals had to be on weekdays. Hell, they don`t even need to be opportune.....On a weekend?
I don't believe that for a moment.
Okay.Everybody's here talking about what if the last 3 unconfirmed Gematsu characters are the last secret characters or not, and I'm just sitting here refusing to believe in the leak until Chrom is revealed.
There's a lot of different ways to differentiate him. Personally I'd like him to be a pressure character that can kill defensive play.To be honest how would Chrom even play like? Would he just be a hybrid of Marth and Ike? I don't want that! Why cant we have Simon Belmont? He has been in loads of old Nes games, has a good moveset and another character that could rival Ike in manlyness further expanding my Dong.
Still this week huh... watch us see Falco then.New character?
So you're asking for a Megaman counterpick? Plus Ike and Marth already pressure opponents but in different yet balanced ways if we just add in someone that just outright kills defensve play then whats the point of zoning characters like Megaman? There's a lot of different ways to differentiate him. Personally I'd like him to be a pressure character that can kill defensive play.
Marth is more about spacing (Especially now) and Ike is about getting reads. Poor wording on my part, but by defensive play I meant shielding. I'd like it if we get a character that is especially good against shields. So you're asking for a Megaman counterpick? Plus Ike and Marth already pressure opponents but in different yet balanced ways if we just add in someone that just outright kills defensve play then whats the point of zoning characters like Megaman?
We got greninja, Charizard, sheik, Zero suit and Yoshi on a Sunday. So I believe it.....On a weekend?
I don't believe that for a moment.
