Akko is my dear daughter!
With the Gematsu newcomers in mind, we'll probably get 3-4 secret newcomers that won't be shown till post release.

So those trailers will just be hidden from the public and uploaded when the game releases? With the Gematsu newcomers in mind, we'll probably get 3-4 secret newcomers that won't be shown till post release.
Eventually some of the secret characters will be shown off as the days go by just like Brawl. So those trailers will just be hidden from the public and uploaded when the game releases?
Possibly. So those trailers will just be hidden from the public and uploaded when the game releases?
I think so. It's tradition, regardless of how soon it gets spoiled, it will still be a surprise to people.I keep wondering if the trailers include hidden characters as well. Furthermore, will there even be hidden characters? Insert "They all get leaked on Google anyway" logic here.
Eh, not always. Jill in MvC3 was very complex mechanically but she had to work too much for damage as opposed to Wesker or Sentinel. Firebrand as well, he could combo you for hours and still not outdamage a 9-hit Sentinel combo.See the thing about characters with big learning curves, that usually means they are good competitively. Just look at ice climbers. Though, whether or not that matters to you, I don't know, but all the most of the newcomers in general seem to bring something new to the table that the community will have quite a time figuring out. I'm just excited to play the game, as is everyone else.
I think the three Gematsu newcomers are it. After that is just unrevealed veterans. So we're not looking at any more than 3-5 more newcomers, correct?
Hence the word usually, and that's completely different type of fighting game. But, you are right. As for the the characters, Brawl had 13 newcomers. Then again, with the gematsu characters we would have twelve, and the seperate Mii movesets, so I guess Brawl wouldn't really tell us much. I don't know. I think we might get one or two after the gematsu guys.Eh, not always. Jill in MvC3 was very complex mechanically but she had to work too much for damage as opposed to Wesker or Sentinel. Yeah, but MvC3 is a completely different game than Smash, and we are talking in the context of Smash Bros.Eh, not always. What is that?Any one think it might be possible to add a character from Senran Kagura?!?!?!?
Welcome to bias world. So, I remember someone saying, before pac was revealed, that he would only be able to chomp. And people seem to hate that idea. But, Bandana dee could only use his spear, but people were saying it would be "so unique" I just, don't understand.
I heard that Ubisoft contacted Nintendo to include Rayman in Smash, but there were certain problems that prevented them to do so.When thinking about other third parties, Snake is the obvious first one to come to mind. He's been given more time, so I'm still hoping to see him return.
The other big guy is Rayman. Ubisoft had the falling out with Nintendo, but there's no telling whether or not Sakurai cares about trivial things like that. If he wanted Rayman, I'm sure he'd still go to the efforts of trying to include him.
Honestly, I don't think we'll ever need Rayman, he's not even close to being as famous as ANY of the guys in our third party lineup, which is fine already with or without Snake. When thinking about other third parties, Snake is the obvious first one to come to mind. After 3ds is out, I suspect they will continue to do daily pics up until the wii u version is out. They can reveal character trailers for the secret characters in the time after the 3ds version is out.So those trailers will just be hidden from the public and uploaded when the game releases?
If you are referring to Japanese public school, there most certainly is not a shortage of crappy equipment, I'll attest to that.I'm working with some pretty crappy PC's at my schools. There aren't any spell checkers to my knowledge. My laptop didn't have a spellchecker until I installed one. My problem with Japanese keyboards is when you make the switch from Japanese to English, the keys get switched around. It can get confusing, especially if you are short on time.
Back to characters...
It just occurred to me that Ganondorf could easily go the Palutena/Mii way and his different special moves could be a sword fighting play style. While not extremely likely, it could work.
Oh, really? Where did you hear this? I'd definitely be interested in seeing it for myself.I heard that Ubisoft contacted Nintendo to include Rayman in Smash, but there were certain problems that prevented them to do so.
I agree, which is why I doubt we'd see him in 4. But, when 5 comes around, I don't think there's much left that's as big as the 4 major gaming icons (+ Snake). While not quite comparing to those 4, Rayman still is able to hold his ground, and he has a ton of history, as well as a fanbase backing him up. This is also before taking into account how much fun he'd be.Honestly, I don't think we'll ever need Rayman, he's not even close to being as famous as ANY of the guys in our third party lineup, which is fine already with or without Snake.
It's just something I recall reading about, but I don't have the source to that, I only remember someone on some forum posting an article about it.Oh, really? Where did you hear this? I'd definitely be interested in seeing it for myself.

I always thought giving him his sword and giving him unique magic attacks would do the trick. Maybe even barrow moves from Ganon, like instead of a sword he could have a trident. I never just thought a sword would do the trick. But I agree with keeping his specials as custom moves.Concerning Ganondorf, I am interested to see what his alternate specials look like. Personally I don't mind if he keeps his purple magic in his specials, but he could benefit from introducing a sword to his A attacks. Many seem to think that de-cloning Ganondorf begins and ends with adding his sword, but I think it would make him more boring to limit him to sword attacks. The dude is a warlock, there is plenty to work with there.
Well, I'll be sure to keep it in mind. It's just something I recall reading about, but I don't have the source to that, I only remember someone on some forum posting an article about it.
Another 47 characters prediction with the Sal leak? I feel like that's too boring, and it requires 4 cuts like you have there to work. This is exactly why I don't like this number of characters specifically. (Also I actually like having hope for more than just those characters)My guess on the Final Roster
- 47 Characters
-Cuts: Squirtle, Ivysuar, Snake and Lucas
-Sal Leak Confirmed as well.
I'd say say ryu Hayabusa would be more ideal then Rayman. As he has the history and legacy that span all the way back to the nes. I don't think any non Japanese produced third party would ever make it honestly.Rayman and Snake are the ideal choices for our next 3rd party choices in future Smash games, but the real question is should Sakurai want that many 3rd parties in his game?
Ryu I imagine will be the next surprise character (a la Snake in Brawl) in the next Smash Bros.Well, if I could choose 3 more 3rd party characters, from outside already established 3rd party companies in SSB4, I'd go for...
Simon Belmont
Ryu Hayabusa (6 games on Nintendo, 7 if we count NGTrilogy)
Rayman
In an ideal world, I'd like to see Earthworm Jim as well, but that's much MUCH more unlikely, but hey, that's what the Miis are there for. :D Just hope I can create an extremely thin head.
I'm thinking 52 is a good number as I think 12-15 newcomers will be in the game.Calling it; at least 49 characters, Sal Leak is real, Lucas is not cut, Mewtwo is back, and possibly 1-2 other newcomers.
The E3 2014 Leak is true regardless of if Lucas is playable or not due to the vague wording. I think it's true, but due to the vague wording, I still think Lucas is in.This is all in belief that the new Sal leak is true mind you.
After all the game was delayed for a reason. The E3 2014 Leak is true regardless of if Lucas is playable or not due to the vague wording. I think it's true, but due to the vague wording, I still think Lucas is in.
I can understand that. If Ness had never been in 64, I would have never known about him.... and eventually bought EarthBound 11 years latter.I just want Snake back. If he wasn't in Brawl, I never would have played Metal Gear.
I mean if he wasn't in Brawl, then people wouldn't really have much of a case for him to be in anyway. But the fact is, that he was in. he will always be the first 3rd party we've gotten. Snake will always be a part of Smash Bros.
That's what would be done with ANY cut character, though, maybe even Ivysaur and Squirtle. My problem with cutting Snake is...if he DOES get cut, he's just going to spike in popularity for the next Smash. Just keep him to shut people up.
