I actually agree with you. Technically they were never officially confirmed cut. So unless too many Pokemon is deemed a good reason, I feel they have as much a chance as anyone. Heck, I'd like to see them come back because I hate seeing characters cut.
That said, eight characters from one series is a lot for a roster under 60. So I won't hold my breath. If anyone got cut, those two seem likely.

I honestly heard very little in regards to Roy until today, actually. After Ike's reveal, of course.

New page, new experimental Prediction/Wish Roster!

I think I should explain my new choices.

Anna: It's become increasingly apparent that uniqueness is a major factor in newcomer selection. Which is why I can't see them adding Chrom by himself. It would be, quite honestly, a waste of a slot.

I think Anna is a viable candidate on her own for many reasons. One of the reasons Awakening was so successful is because of it's DLC, and all the present FE characters represent that. Anna would too, as she's featured extensively in the DLC chapters (including as a boss) and is basically it's mascot. Besides, she's been present in every game in the series. I don't think she's a mascot or anything, but she stands out and has history, and I think that she has a good, viable chance to get in.

Pac-Man: Pac-Man represents the Arcade era, which is where Nintendo's business really began. This Pac-Man doesn't speak; he uses sound effects from the classic arcade game.

I like the roster, although Mewtwo and. Jigglypuff could easily coexist.
I personally don't think Takamaru will make it anymore, but that's just me.
I would say cut Dee but we all know that'a not happening.

Not necessarily as that was Ike's move in Brawl. The intent isn't necessarily relevant. I mean, it would be a piece of evidence against him, sure. But I wouldn't assume anything at that point.

I don't think you know what I meant from talking about Mewtwo.
He isn't as popular, iconic, or relevant as Mewtwo. Or Ike.

I was using Mewtwo as a base. They are polar opposites in actuality.

For example, one will be in the game and the other will not.

Eruption was intended for Roy; but imputed to Ike, unlike any of those other moves that are merely similar (or intended for both). I agree that it doesn't mean anything, but his assertion wasn't necessarily baseless.

-Luigi is typically the same as Mario in most aspects within any game he's in, which include the ability to toss Fireballs.
-Toon Link is Link and Boomerangs and Bows are iconic Zelda weapons.
-Mewtwo and Lucario are both known for energy ball attacks (Lucario more so), Shadow Ball and Aura Sphere have different mechanics (namely Aura Sphere is directly tied to Lucario's Aura gimmick), and Mewtwo might not even have Shadow Ball this time around considering the probable chance of getting a rehaul.

Ike's Ragnell is not known to be a sword with magical fire capabilities like Roy's Sword of Seals is. The only reason Ike would have a move that not only has the same ignition properties as Roy's sword, but the same exact function as Roy's Flare Blade attack would be because it's a throwback to Roy.
Ergo, Ike having Eruption again is not the same as the Mario Bros. having Fireballs, two versions of Link having the same type of weapons, or Mewtwo and Lucario tossing energy balls.

Oh I din't know that point, but whatever. But there still have characters that have moves that doesn't belong to them, like Ness. But it's really strange Roy being cut and Ike having this move... Sakurai is pretty tricky sometimes (I mean... EVERYTIME)

Just saw it, I admire your roster. I think it is pretty realistic, too. I really like the inclusion of Pac-Man, Mewtwo, and Palutena.

Looks pretty good, I think. Although I still question Anna and Ghirahim... And I don't think Pac-Man would count as a retro.

I think if any character should be cut, a Starfox rep is the obvious choice. Almost every other character in Smash Bros. draws its inspiration from their series. The Starfox characters, well... don't. Fox was entirely made up, and Falco and Wolf are basically just clones of him. There's really no reason to have three Starfox reps all with virtually identical made-up movesets. None of them even use Arwings!

There's a lot of stuff to draw inspiration from in the series, but most of it isn't really utilised. If they all come back, they really need to be further, if not totally decloned.
