The motorcycle is Mach Rider's main thing though. I just think it'd be insanely cool for him to always be riding it.

By the way, I don't think worrying about pornography is exactly a priority, mainly because that sort of thing pretty much effects everything anyway. Lip won't be much different from Bowser for example. In the worst case scenario, there is always the option for redesigning in order to create less controversy.

I hate the internet for this reason alone. The first and most famous female protagonist in all of gaming. A heroic badass space warrior. Now an unfiltered sex symbol for mouth-breathers.

Of course, whereas Lip would be popular overseas, she'd fare horribly in USA since she's not dirty...

I would consider Lip a loli. I would consider Ness and Lucas shotas. Fox and Wolf are furries. Bowser's got some scalies. Link and Marth have yaoi, and Zelda and Peach have hentai forms.

None of this is relevant to Smash.

I know you all love your smaller franchises, but I'm most interested in existing franchises being expanded.

Don't know his stance on Toad (The only thing said about Toad was Sakurai mocking someone's misspelling of Toad). But it could simply be an oversight type thing, where he simply doesn't see the character as fighting material and thinks being one of Peach's moves is more fitting for his character.

On the subject of retros, a user on GameFAQs named CAW Evolution kind of made an interesting point on retro characters. Thoughts?

Sakurai's never included a retro character for the sake of including one. With the Ice Climbers, he wanted someone to represent the NES and was left with the Ice Climbers after eliminating all other plausible options. Mr. Game & Watch represents the Game & Watch handheld devices, obviously. Pit represents the Famicom Disk System and R.O.B. represents... well, R.O.B.

I really don't think we're going to see someone like Mach Rider because we already have the Ice Climbers representing that particular part of Nintendo history. The Ice Climbers' inclusion would seem less important if another NES-only character was to be included.

With Kid Icarus having been resurrected on the 3DS, Pit's no longer considered a retro character. Takamaru, who recently appeared in Captain Rainbow, Samurai Warriors 3, and Nintendo Land, could easily take over as the Disk System representative.

Alternatively, Nintendo's early history as a producer of arcade games isn't represented with a character. Sheriff and Donkey Kong Jr. both work as arcade-only characters, but I'm not sure how feasible either of them would be in Smash Bros.

In summary: Takamaru is my personal bet. I wouldn't count on a second retro character with 100% certainty.[/quote[

I wouldn't exactly say that, considering she'd be no different from Peach.

Plus, it helps that those sort of characters are more lenient due to the rise of moe.

Difference between a sex symbol and Rule 34... sex symbols didn't need Rule 34 to be turned into sex symbols. Bayonetta already is one... Krystal wasn't really created to be one... the furries turned her into one... Lip wasn't created to be one... Rule 34 is responsible for that.

But even still, I don't think Bayonetta wouldn't be in included in Smash, because she is a sex symbol.
