You say that now. But a LOT of people weren't as sure.
Being the huge Punch Out fan that I am, I knew that very well. But a lot of people thought it was a generic wrestling ring, for starters.

Which further proves my point. Sakurai's not going to leave an obvious hint in the shape of a SYMBOL of all things, to hint at a stage or character. Which is exactly why the Little Mac trailer cleared up all confusion on the Boxing Ring stage.

Yeah, we know Captain Falcon's in. But we've known this through other hints before and outside his symbol in Samurai Goroh's reveal.

I've said it before Little Mac's reveal, and I say it now.
Aside from that, there were more people that believed it to be Punch-Out related than a damned wrestling ring (especially since wrestling rings only have 3 ropes; boxing rings have 4)

As for your point, it adds literally nothing to it. The stage, regardless of lacking Punch-Out decorations (which many attributed to it being a special "Smash Circuit" as opposed to a specific Circuit from PO) wasn't given any label whatsoever. Saki? Was given the generic Smash symbol like EVERY OTHER non-staged, non-character represented franchise. Just. Like. In. Brawl.
If that doesn't drive the point that Sin & Punishment is not getting anything higher than an Assist, then it's clear delusion.
I mean, even the Isaac fans have more ammunition with Isaac not being present in that clipshow.

Regardless of the validity of the leak, I still firmly believe Palutena's inclusion is imminent. Based on the clever Palutena troll Sakurai threw at us in the Nintendo Direct, it'd be a cop-out for her to not be playable at this point. It's interesting really, because Sakurai never really did this kind of thing in past Smash games (R.O.B. aside) but Sakurai seems to be hinting towards playables more this time than he did in the past. Both Toon Link and Little Mac had things relating to them shown off before they were announced (Spirit Train and Boxing Ring respectively), yet were both kept under wraps. Similarly, Sakurai's trolling with the trophy, plus the Palutena's Temple stage seems to make Palutena an obvious choice at this point in time.

Palutena, regardless of the leak, In my mind has always been a likely addition. It makes too much sense at this point that if she was not included, I would be very surprised.
  • The removal of her from Pits FS is a good indicator that her FS is potentially Pit's from Brawl, which I am okay with. There are other options of course, but that seems likely.
  • The alluding/trolling done by Sakurai regarding the character, not only in the direct, but previously in the PoTD's is only surpassed by Ridley's teasing.
  • The timing of KI:U being complete and Sm4sh being initialized makes me think that Sakurai had put consideration into a viable moveset for her, not necessarily by choice, but subconsciously created a plan for her.
  • KI has blown up from the release of the new game.
  • One of the few series left that could actually add one or more characters.
  • Her personality would be great to have in Sm4sh, just imagine the possible codex happening with her and Pit.

Anyways, there's too much other stuff that practically confirms Palutena besides this leak, so I don't even care if it's fake, there's just too much other stuff:

-Palutena's Temple
-Pseudo-Palutena
-Pit's final smash changed

and that's off the top of my head. pretty much, she's in a better position than what Little Mac was in. and Mac's confirmed.

EDIT: didn't even read the post above me, lol

Almost every leak pertains to characters. There's a difference between discussing the chances of those characters and the validity of the leak.

People will be vewy mad if Genesect gets in over Mewtwo.

Not sure about the chances of Mach Rider, Dillon, and Vaati.

I assume Marshal is there because of leak?

And who is that Mii in the bottom-right corner? Don't know who it's supposed to represent.

Not sure about the likelihood of this roster. Maybe...4/10?
It all boils down to personal opinion, anyway.

If you're going by the leak, replace Marshal with the Chorus Kids.
Then it will be accurate.

I beg of you; do NOT remove your unusual choices in Dillon, Vaati, Genesect(as unlikely as I think he is), Jr. or Mach Rider.
At least having oddball choices leads to discussion rather than "Has Ridley, King K. Rool, Palutena, Mewtwo, Little Mac and Takamaru; 10/10" responses like we were plagued with in the past.

And haven't we learned already that "unlikely characters" have just as good of a shot?
I thought we already threw "chances" out the window with WFT, then reinforced by Rosalina and Greninja.

Because they don't adhere to the norm? Well, neither does Sakurai.
Not trying to insult here, just trying to make a point.
Seriously before her reveal WFT would've been bogus.
Before his reveal, MANY people would've called Greninja bogus (at least by himself).
IF the leak is true, then Chorus Kids are "bogus".

This is the problem with predictions, everyone assumes a general mindset and any other suggestion outside the norm is seen as oddball, when the pattern itself is oddball.

You know, Stair Fax doesn't revolves around that one game.
You've only looked at that as a prime example, and then completely ignore their more prominent roles in the other games. You do realize there's more to Star Fox than just Adventures right?

She's also important to the StarFox series. In her debut game, Wolf was completely absent, while Falco didn't show up until the very end. More importantly, she hasn't missed any game since her debut. (Before you say StarFox 64 3D, that was a remake)

Literally the same argument could be given in Brawl's time (and for the most part was) since the only thing SINCE Brawl is 64 3D.

I'm in no means a Krystal fan, but to be honest people use this and her as the scapegoat for that game being awful, when there were plenty of more important things than just the fact it was her debut that made that game so very bad.
