I will say this real quick.
ROB's home stage in Brawl was "Mario Bros". So there are exceptions.
Are you contradicting me? Well...um...

That wasn't ROB's home stage, it was just the best place to put him, even though that stage has absolutely nothing to do with ROB whatsoever.

However, all of the stages in SSB4 related to Miis, like the Pilotwings stage, and the Find Mii stage, are very much related to Miis, yet they are all classified under different series.

Showing that those stages do not symbolize the Miis, and therefore, decreases their influence.

same, but at least staying positive.
Understandable.

Also is it just me, or is everytime as soon as one potential cut gets its name cleared, another one gets thrown into the danger zone? First Toon Link, then Sheik (by some people) and now Squirtle and Ivysaur.....

Oh and then there is Snake....

You're right.
Didn't you fight Ganondorf on Final Destination?

Then why doesn't the FD stage have a triforce instead of a Smash Bros logo next to the name?

If R.O.B had a stage,it would be Gyromite.

Well, besides that, I think the fact that all of their supposed "home stages" are from different universes, and an actual Mii was present in the Find Mii stage is working against them.

If you don't like them, you don't need to have them in your roster.
I was trying to make a prediction roster. And come to think of it, Miis wouldn't be the worst thing in the world.

I'm 50-50 on Ivy and Squirt. Snake... I'm not sure. Sometimes I'm thinking he's not cut, other times I think he's out. :ohwell:

Oh no, you're turning into one of them...guys, he's turning!!

I'm glad that they're cut and other gens got some representation in the form of Greninja.
Yeah, gonna be real honest here.

Ivysaur and Squirtle were the least fun or interesting characters in Brawl. There. I said it.
They just were. There was no incentive to use them when you had Charizard and his Rock Smash.

Oh no.... QUICK! Antidote, ANTIDOTE!!! :p

Actually, I don't think we need them, if anything, they'd sound like something Sakurai would do. But as far as being needed, they are not.

He's gone Hollow!!
If there's one good thing about Dark Souls, it's the memes.

No, considering what Sakurai has said about fighter criteria, and dispostion, I feel like Miis are the ideally one of the last characters he would choose.

Really? Come to think of it, he originally didn't want the Villager, did he? Meh, now I can't really see them getting in.

I always thought the Villager was Sakurai's way of killing two birds with one stone.

Offering the same playstyle Miis might have (my phrase to describe it is, "and-the-kitchen-sink-too") while still being a harmless avatar character, and representing Animal Crossing while they're at it.

About Miis, I think their chances are high. The Sal Leak has yet to be disconfirmed, and they simply make sense due to the fact that they are an important part of Nintendo's history and don't seem to be going away anytime soon.
That being said, the Pilotwings stage has a Pilotwings icon and Find Mii has a Find Mii icon. Until we see Tomadachi's icon I'm starting to get a little skeptical.

And I've been seeing Sceptile on a few rosters lately, so here's what I have to say about that. Even if a grass starter can "balance" out the rest, I don't see the real need, nor do I see Sakurai throwing in Sceptile just because we need a grass starter. He doesn't really make much sense either, unless we are getting a Hoenn remake, and even then Blaziken and maybe even Swampert would be pushed over Sceptile.

I'm not going to bother responding to the Mii it because I can't seem to get people to understand what I mean.

And yeah, I was talking about Sceptile as a joke. If they're that desperate to have a Grass Pokemon, here's an idea.
Why not keep the one you already have? Greninja and Squirtle are not mutually exclusive.

About grass type pokemon...

They may not be much of use, because most of the special moves involve fire, and grass is weak to fire :troll:

What is the 'Sal Leak'? Wait, don't answer that, I'll just go look at it on the Rumor Thread.

In fact, I have a theory about Pokémon representation in this game.
The 5 prioritized Pokémon characters will be Pikachu, Charizard, Lucario, Greninja, and Mewtwo.
What? Where's Jigglypuff?
Well I think that, similarly to last game, Jiggs will be a shoe-horned last minute addition, just like she was in Brawl.
Then we get everyone back. My only worry is that Jigglypuff sucks again.

New topic: Who would would you honestly rather have, the long awaited, demanded Mewtwo or the nostalgic, 3-time veteran Jigglypuff?
Mewtwo >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Random Pokémon >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Jigglypuff
Seriously though, I still think Jigglypuff didn't deserve to be playable in the first place and I think the only reason she's still here is due to being the original 12. She's not too nostalgic if you never play as her so I'm willing for her to be cut for a more relevant/popular Pokémon.
Other than Mewtwo, I personally think Zoroark, Genesect, and even Squirtle would be a good replacement for Jigglypuff.
But at the same time, I somewhat understand why people would be mad if they cut her. Especially if they mained her.

Some people predict that Ike will arrive sometime this month due to the anniversary of Fire Emblem coming up soon. Idk about that, because Sakurai didn't have anything planned for the 15th anniversary of Smash.

I like Sceptile, but I still think Mewtwo is the better choice.

I don't think Squirtle and Ivysaur will be back, but it's truly just a gut feeling I'm having. I suppose my whole thing is, why didn't they just reveal them separately in the same trailer? Obviously, if there aren't transformations, the three of them won't be together. But the fact that they weren't in the trailer, yet many many many others were, I just don't see them coming back.

Charizard, while being just as iconic as Squirtle or Ivysaur, is far more popular than either of the other two. By far. If one of the other two got in but Charizard didn't, that would be a big misstep for this game definitely. It's a no brainer for Charizard to come back, even if the other two don't.

I still think we'll get Mewtwo. Each Smash game, we've gotten two Pokemon characters, ironically, one from the newest gen, and then one from the first generation. Mewtwo is leagues and bounds over any other Pokemon at this point, so I think we'll still see him. He isn't the most requested character for nothing. Ridley didn't even have anything on him.

I can help.
Simply put, Sakurai didn't want them in the trailer, that doesn't mean they're automatically cut.
That's like saying Sheik is cut because she didn't coincide with Zelda's reveal, or ZSS with Samus's.

I'm still thinking that Squirtle and Ivyusaur are cut as well.
There just isn't enough room for them. Greninja out-prioritizes Squirtle and Ivysaur would just cause imbalance (because no Squirtle evolutionary line anymore).
Plus, Mewtwo and Jigglypuff are just more important at the moment. And 8 Pokémon characters? Yeah right.

The main reason I'm unsure of Squirtle and Ivysaur is because of how much space they would take now, depending on their implementation. We know probably that Charizard is standalone. We already have Pikachu, Lucario, and Greninja. How many more Pokemon could there possibly be? Jigglypuff? Mewtwo? Squirtle AND Ivysaur on top of that? Some kind of character that combines aspects of the two or more?

Pokemon's great, but it's far too easy to make it completely overshadow every other series.

The thing about Charizard is that he was treated as a newcomer on the trailer, with the "Charizard Flames In" If it didn't have that, Squirtle and Ivysaur could have had a chance, but alas, it didn't and they weren't even shown in the trailer, so I'm not betting on their return.

That was when Mewtwo didn't have everything going for him.
During Brawl, he wasn't the most popular character in the world. He didn't have 2 Mega Evolutions. He didn't star in two recent movies.
Now Mewtwo has all of that, which is why I really can't see him missing this opportunity.
Like I said, blame Sonic the Hedgehog.
You know, in reality it was probably Jigglypuff that snubbed Mewtwo out.

Didn't Zero Suit Samus, Yoshi, and Sheik get the same treatment too (They had the catchphrase as well mind you.)?
Guess they're newcomers as well.

They still fit into a pattern of sorts. If you can call it that.

It makes sense for Charizard to come back on his own. I think the backlash for him being cut from Smash, but the other two staying would be huge compared to the opposite. There are likely far fewer people who are upset with the other two leaving than there would be from Charizard getting cut.

Not that it means anything, but Sakurai talked about ZSS and Sheik as he revealed them. Yet, there was nothing said about Pokemon Trainer or what became of his transformation. He didn't even hint at anything in the trailer.

We can't definitely say either or at this point I suppose, but I'm going to stick to my thinking here. We've seen two added (2nd Gen, and 1st Gen) we saw two cut and 4 added (3 first gen, 1 fourth gen) and now we're in Smash 4, with 1 sixth gen, with the other possible newcomer slot untouched. It's highly possible that that pattern may continue with this game, and we might get Mewtwo again.

That said, I still find it hard to believe...I mean this is going to sound REAL stupid. But picture the character select screen, whichever method of organization (horizontal or vertical)...just picture Pokemon having 7 characters in their own row. That's nuts. Not saying it can't happen, but that's a lot of characters. It's hard to explain, but it just seems crazy to me.

Outside of Melee itself, Mewtwo had everything over Jigglypuff.

Personally, I want to know more about Greninja and Charizard next week. Thursday and Friday were self-explanatory pics (understandable), but I want to learn more about these two Pokemon. Maybe it'll shed some light on the whole Squirtle-Ivysaur situation.

And maybe we're going for diverse types on the roster! Electric, Fire-Flying, Water-Dark, Fighting-Steel. All we need now is a Psychic and Normal type and we're good to go. (Don't say Girafarig...)

You mean the leak that listed three of the most predicted characters for the direct only a few hours before it happened? It seems so obviously fake that I don't see why anyone would take it seriously. I mean come on, "X/Y Pokemon"? If it actually said Greninja, then I'd probably even believe it. But no. They listed a bunch of likely characters right before a direct so that if any of them got revealed, everyone would believe their little "leak". Of course, they had to play it safe with Pokemon because they didn't know which one would make it in.

Isn't Jigglypuff still Normal Type? Fairy/Normal?

Right! Oh, I forgot she's Fairy! Maybe she'll get some overhauls then. We've seen most of the characters on this roster get new moves (Link and DK's new dashes... thank Buddha).

Hoping she gets some fairy-type moves, and it gives me a lot of hope that Ganondorf is getting "decloning treatment".

I was thinking about type balance too. We have many types represented so far.
Electric
Fire-Flying
Fighting-Steel
Water-Dark

Add Psychic and Normal-Fairy and we have a great balance. There's a decent Rock-Paper-Scissors thing going on here too.
