The Lip's Stick is appearing as an item again.

As that's Lip's primary method of attack, it's unlikely she will be appearing as a playable character.

Not only have we not heard Ridley's name, but no one ever said there was a boss on Pyrosphere. He said a familiar foe may appear which could me he will appear if someone chooses to play as him. He also said there will be bosses on other stages, but he didn't say which ones. Heck, I don't care if Ridley is in, I never thought he would be, I'm just leaving some options out there.

Good point. Lip struck me as an interesting Smash candidate, so it's a shame to see her denied entry, even if I never saw her as very likely anyway.

He did show Pyrosphere though. At the very least, we can say for sure that there will some boss in Pyrosphere, Ridley or not.

At this point, it's not even about whether Sakurai is "trolling" anyone.

If Ridley is a Stage Hazard, then drawing out explicit Word of God confirmation in the way he has done for the past several months is baffling. Why not simply show him in his fully Hazardley For Glory?

If Ridley is actually playable, then massively misleading the audience into assuming his disconfirmation, only to later reveal him as playable as a protracted fake-out (e.g. at E3) seems to be a bad joke at best. Why tease Ridley as a non-playable character when he actually is, and thereby screw around with your fanbase in counter-productive ways?

While the former outcome seems most probable at the moment, neither of these scenarios make much sense to me. I'm now eager for Sakurai's official statements on Ridley's status in the game, if only for the possibility of getting some insight into his rationale behind handling Ridley's role in SSB4 (and the advertisement thereof).

None of the unlockable AT's were shown in the montage or press release images, so to say that Isaac is out of the woods just because we didn't see him in the lineup yesterday might be premature. His 'chances' are probably the same as they were heading into the direct. I'll admit, that does change my opinion a bit thinking about that now.

None of the unlockable AT's were shown in the montage or press release images, so to say that Isaac is out of the woods just because we didn't see him in the lineup yesterday might be premature. His 'chances' are probably the same as they were heading into the direct. I'll admit, that does change my opinion a bit thinking about that now.

Apparently I am alone in this but I honestly think Ridley's more confirmed than deconfirmed now after seeing that shadow behaving suspiciously. Didn't even appear to try and attack Pikachu. What sort of lame stage hazard is this that just idly flaps it's wings not doing anything?

I don't even support Ridley, but it's bizarre seeing his fanbase get upset over what appears(to me at least) a hint he's going to be revealed later as a surprise.

Is there something I missed that cements this as a stage hazard or is it just what Sakurai said? The same man who did a fake out on ZSS mere moments before?

Isaac one of the few survivors of the initial AT massacre. But he is certainly not completely confirmed. Sakurai didn't show Starfy and Metroid in that Direct, 2 confirmed AT's so he clearly still has more to show. Cross your fingers everyone!

To be fair it's possible he would've shown them had they not already been revealed, but yes, this doesn't mean Isaac is out of the woods.

Ofc not showing up today doesn't mean Isaac is playable either, but at least he has a lot more in his favour. (than Ray)

I would be very irritated though if the two characters I really don't want (Mii and Pacman) both make it in over the two I really want (Palutena and Micaiah) of course I'd be fine if they had one of each or both of each to balance it, but if Mii, Pacman, and Palutena get in without Micaiah, I'll be pretty irritated.

When the 3DS version comes out,I'm trying out Olimar to see if his new line-up is either a debuff or a better use. Then there's the Winged Pikmin with the limit. It seems that they made him more...strategic.

One thing that might be nice to do, since the 3DS version is releasing early, is if you unlock the entire roster on the 3DS version you can sync to the Wii U version and not have to unlock the characters a second time. Can just pick up and play.

Sakurai has very strongly implied several times now that Ridley's a boss hazard on Pyrosphere. The only hope for Ridley is that Sakurai's deliberately misleading the fanbase to enhance the excitement of Ridley's reveal. Ridley looks pretty dead right now.
