I wouldn't mind Ice Climbers being tied together with their bungee cord. That way you have two separate weighted entities. Tricks can be used to gain momentum by swinging one Ice Climber over the other.

No. It's not like Jiggs has been used in marketing since the Gen 1 days anyway, at least now she's a Fairy.

If Sakurai really cared about marketing, he wouldn't choose characters like the retros and G&W/ROB to make up the roster when he can fill it with more Mario, Pokemon, Zelda, and third-parties.

No because Retro characters give no market value, as in Ice Climbers and R.O.B. Plus Toon Link is in the game and they worked hard to keep ZSS and Sheik. I don't see why they would go anywhere.

Ike likely will be a prominent character in FE x SMT. Why kick him out, if he could promote that? Also, it's not like Radiant Dawn is that much older than Punch Out for Wii so... Why again should Ike be out?

Seriously, I might be calm now about Sheik being in and all, but if Ike and Mewtwo aren't in, there will be bloodshed.

Sakurai designed Brawl's roster so that if cuts would be made, then they would be characters that didn't matter as much as the main cast. If he still considers jigglypuff as one of these characters then i worry for her.

It's pretty common Smash knowledge. I'm not going searching for the exact terms, but Dr. Mario, along with Mewtwo, Roy, Dixie, Toon Zelda, Toon Sheik, and Pra_Mai (thought by some to be Plusle & Minun) had leftover character data found on disc.

Exactly, they weren't added because of marketing. I doubt Sakurai would change his mentality to inclusions at this point. Not to mention we already have a good handful of newcomers who will appeal to the larger crowds: Villager, Mega Man, Rosalina, Greninja... so it's not like he can't throw in characters that aren't consumer fodder to the same extent.

Plus Ike and Jiggs have huge Smash fanbases, it's not like they won't draw attention as well. Once in Smash you become a huge Nintendo character.

Looking like Ice Climber enemies are in Smash Run. I'd say they're safe now.

There's quite a lot of stuff in these images actually. Timer and Mr Saturn are back as items. Lakitu is back as an assist and there's a new drill gun type weapon.

Darkrai is a pokeball which leads me to believe all the pokemon shown the Greninja trailer stood beneath pikachu and charizard are pokeball pokemon. Last time I check all but 4-5 had been confiremd already.

Further edit: both mega and posion mushrooms back, bellossom and goldeen are back as pokeballs, mini guys (mites?) are in back in smash run from SSE, franklin badge is back and most interestingly:

Because Retros are suddenly Pokemon now. If you can seriously look at Greninja and tell me that isn't blatant marketing, something's wrong.

When it comes to Pokemon, I'm betting that Mewtwo is the last one left and Jiggs is gone. For Fire Emblem, we're for sure as hell getting Chrom, but Ike doesn't really have competition. Pokemon is a completely different ballgame compared to the rest of the roster, so bringing up retros is a moot point.

I really do count Yoshi as still a Mario representative. He really hasn't utilized many of his abilities from Yoshi story.

Wario is much more removed, but he is the anti-Mario.

Kawashima is not getting in over Falco of all people. There are a lot changes that would need to be done before I could consider this "plausible", but returning Falco and Lucas at the very least is a start.

I remember him talking about GameFreak, not IntelligentSystems.
Seeing as Greninja most definitely has to be in due to GameFreak's influence, I can see Jigglypuff's cut a much more likely possibility.
Ike is a different story.

I was really surprised with Greninja being revealed, but I'm interested in playing as him because he's a water type fully evolved unlike Pokemon Trainer's Squirtle.

I'm still pretty hyped. But I do understand that some of us are kind of dissapointed or put on edge. At when it comes to certain character being not being playable like Goroh and Saki. And being teased at some more, like Palutena, and to a lesser extent, Ridley. Not all that sure if Mewtwo was teased at. Looking at the Greninja trailer again, it seems a lot more obvious it was him.



Didn't have much doubt about them honestly. Though we don't know how much they may have changed either.

You know who we haven't seen much of, Falco. It'd be cool to get his reveal out of the way soon too.

We haven't seen much of Star Fox in general, besides Uncle ayandwooooos.

Pokemon Trainer is 3 characters in one yes, but he still takes the development time of 3 characters. They each have their own stats and movesets.

Not to mention, in an interview, Sakurai already said the game had 39 characters. So yes, Pokemon had 6 characters in Brawl, therefore having more than Mario.

Lucas returning is still something I find very likely. As mentioned before, it makes no sense for the Mother franchise to go:
Ness > Ness > Ness, Lucas > Ness

I can understand other cuts in your roster, but Falco and Lucas are characters that need to stay. I also suggest keeping that third DK character but that is entirely up to you.
