I'm going to probably regret saying this, but I honestly see the same kind of arguments being applied to K. Rool all the time.
The supporters often claim he'd be so unique, yet really, all I ever see in what they describe K. Rool is....a boomerang, a projectile that functions like Wolf's Blaster, a Cypher-like copter pack, and no agreement on the last special. And the style of regular combat typically sounds similar to how Bowser is in Smash 4.

Now, do I have a problem with K. Rool being like this? Not at all; I like that lovable fat croc too much and I like the sound of that style. But he honestly isn't some pinnacle of freshness. Either that, or no one has actually given me reason to believe it. (And before Habanero starts bagging me on this like he inevitably will, I'm not saying K. Rool is on Chrom's "level".)
I feel K. Rool is worthy because he's K. Rool, not because he's "unique".
In regards to Miis, I don't really care for them personally, but they are worthy as well. Which is why I'm indifferent about them showing up. It's not like say, Geno, who was an overrated fad.

Ah balls. I just realized it's at 3pm Pacific Time. That means I have to wait until 6. That's gonna be a loooooooong day.

Still, this could be awesome if Dixie gets in like that. Never thought I'd be really hyped for her, but wow.

I don't know, it just seems so dynamic and interesting. While I still much prefer K. Rool if in the event we only get one more DK character, Millia-based Dixie would be fantastic.

New Trailer for Smash, introduce newcomer...I'd prefer Palutena to get it over with. A couple vets (3-5 seems fair), Sakurai discusses gameplay and new modes...

Possible second newcomer towards end, maybe a real big name character (Ridley, Mewtwo...take your pick). Release date window, if not the actual date (i'd **** myself).

Call me crazy, but hear my logic: We got the developer direct which was around 6 minutes, and he covered the graphics on both consoles, 3 new characters, changes to Bowser...A Direct is waaaay longer than that. We're talking upwards of 20 minutes possibly. That's a crap ton of content he can cover.

I've got high hopes for this. I doubt disappointment.

I think we'll only get 3 Veterans. All of which I believe are perfect for this direct:

The long awaited major icon: Yoshi
The last Third-Party Veteran: Snake
And the most anticipated cut character: Mewtwo

I pretty much agree with this, though I can see Captain Falcon or the Ice Climbers over Yoshi. Neither of those have games to promote (obviously) while Yoshi has some possible dates. Plus, Falcon's pretty much Smash Incarnate, and the Ice Climber confirmation would help confirm that the 3DS is no longer having those issues with them.

Even I'll freely admit K. Rool might not be the freshest idea of a character, considering we've gotten characters in a similar ilk like Bowser and King Dedede already in.

Though at the same time, I do believe there are options available that would at least make K. Rool stand out more. But even in the worst case scenarios, he won't be identical to someone like Bowser, due to the principles of his design making it impossible to begin with.

I would be lying if I said no, but there are alternate ways to interpret the concept. Like, you can make K. Rool more grapple based with an emphasis on punishing opponents that get too close and likewise have options to coax the opponent into getting too close (sort of like Potemkin), or make him into a heavy projectile based character that uses varies types of projectiles with varying amounts of effects.

Okay, first off, when the hell did Rick and Morty PLUS The Light Music Club from K-ON join Smashboards?

On another serious note, I'm putting my money on Chrom, and one other Newcomer reveal. (Most likely Mii's). Chrom is so unexpected, it's what Sakurai would do.
I think Snake MIGHT be revealed, but that's questionable. I'm rooting for Lucas reveal along with the announcement of Mother 3 on Virtual Console.

I joined on Christmas lol. And yeah I think FE character might happen, but I think it will be Robin or Micaiah.
