So you're agreeing on the noncustomization?
The way you say generic makes think y'all are too lazy to make them unique
You know.

Just because you can't edit them doesn't mean they're "generic".
That's like saying Villager is generic cause you can't edit him.

Villager is generic because you can't edit him. That's why he has the unique moveset.
Exactly.

Fighting games let the gameplay make the character unique. Not the graphics.
Look at first few Mortal Kombat games.
Many of them we're just the exact same guy in the same costume. Yet every said character played differently.

Yeah, you guys will want to main the Mii, I already gave out a possible moveset that would be as unique as possible.
All of you are going to seriously eat your words.
Yes, we'll eat those "Miis can be unique through gameplay" words that we've been shouting.

What do you mean? I never argued they couldn't be unique.

I argued that the inclusion of Miis would completely trivialize putting development time into every other character.

This, right here. I salute you. This is the thing for me. Like, the complete point of having every other character is put into question when they could "just be a Mii" is so off-turning to me. Other than the modesty, this is my real issue with Miis.

Because in order for them to be unique.
They have to be every other character.

Cause that's makes sense...

We're going to want to main the Mii based on a fan-made moveset? You do know your moveset won't transfer to the actual game, right?

And for that matter while the Miis obv can and will be unique, given some of the previously-announced newcomers, it's going to be hard to have the Miis stand head and shoulders above them as far as "uniqueness" goes.

Miis are the new Subspace Emissary now. :troll:

We'll see.
Watch as the Mii gets dragged into recovery with the Wii Menu hand.
There's a way to make them extremely creative if you think outside the box.

Elaborating, I think Miis will be unique by default in moveset, otherwise they wouldn't be there. But uniqueness doesn't exactly mean they have to copy everyone or have it so you can have any Mii.

Seems a little harsh here. Your moveset =/= the final one. It could be better than yours, or worse.
Because in order for them to be unique.

Sorry, I meant to elaborate again. I was talking about how you can use Miis that are anything you want. You can have a Mario Mii with the Mii moveset and Mario. It just sounds redundant to me.

I don't know, I don't think people would use the Miis designed to look like other characters and claim to be fully satisfied with that. If (for some reason) Mewtwo wasn't in the game, I don't think people would just make a Mii that looks like him and say "Yeah, we don't need Mewtwo in, I have a Mii that looks like him." Miis are designed for the purpose of putting yourself into the game, and that's what they work best for. They aren't able to capture all the elements of other possible characters, such as their abilities and, in some cases, appearances. Because of this, I don't think that their presence would render the presence of other characters completely void.

Nah, I got the message all right.

Though, it's more pointless than redundant.
It just trivializes every other character. Simply making them abilities for the Mii to use.
If anything, it makes the other characters useless.

I still wouldn't main Mii even if it did have a unique moveset.

Maybe if it was for the purpose of sandbagging, similar to Sonic.

Rosalina has a cursor gimmick too, it's her down special. Tbh that still sounds like a basic recovery move, even if the implementation is creative.

I'd say more Reflector than recovery.
I'm not sure if it gave her momentum.

I know it might not be, but the moveset I thought of, is about as possible and as creative you can go with the Mii.
Great!
...What is it?

Yeah I know, if Rosalina can use it, so can the Miis. And the way it's used for the Miis is different from Rosalina.
There's the sports equipment and maybe even a Wii reticle as an aiming accuracy move.
Great!

I made a moveset for the Miis now, I think I might main them soon enough if they use this moveset:

Here's the Mii playstyle:

Miis are unique, they can carry opponents and many things that surround them using the Wii Hand. Their moveset is based on the Wii Motion Controls that defined gaming and the equipment used in Wii Sports. Although most of their moves are fairly weak and are not able to KO an opponent, they have many unique things to use that make them fairly capable to live on the Battlefield.

Down-B: Sports Equipment Switch: The Mii switches with up to 5 sports gear to choose from to use for his Normal-B, you are able to quickly change gear, so there's no worrying about an opponent trying to get on you. There are many unique moves the Miis can choose:

Neutral-B:

Boxing Gloves: When changed into the boxing gloves, the Miis power in their punching moves is raised by x1.5. When you use the move however, gives a standard charge punch attack.

Bowling Ball: When changed into the Bowling Ball, the Miis are able roll the bowls for a projectile. Although slow, the balls have big KO potential if not dealt with.

Golf Club: When changed into the club, the Mii swings a golf club to shoot weak but abusable golf balls. You can shoot up to three at a time in the field, although the projectiles are a little slow when in the air.

Tennis Racket: When changed to the racket, the Mii is able to stun the opponent for a little while if the racket hits the opponent. Although the Mii will wear out if the move used too much.

Baseball Bat: When changed to the baseball bat, the Mii uses the baseball bat to swing out some fastballs that move in a straight line. The bat however does not hit opponents, only the baseballs. The balls have decent KO potential if aimed correctly.

Side-B: Reticle: The Mii summons a reticle that you can control circularly with the Control stick, once the B-Button is let go, the Mii will automatically throw the projectile where the target is at in a straight line. Note that it is not a homing projectile and it does not kill the opponent. If you use the reticle for moves such as the Mii's Golf Club and the Baseball Bat, it automatically home on the reticle.

Up-B: Drag: Miis summon the Wii Hand above them, the player can control the hand freely using the control stick, the maximum length you can reach the hand is about a platform distance. Once you grab the Mii with the hand, it will automatically cling the mii for you to drag. You can move them freely to any height you wish till after 2 seconds, using the hand to recover yourself slowly back to the stage. You can also grab the opponents to with your hand, and drag them at given speed. Just imagine dragging Mario, and trolling them like you have the force, it could potentially be a very fun move to use.

No offense, but that moveset seems extremely versatile and OP.

...which is not good.

Interesting.
Now. Where's the tilts?
No? What about aerials?
Grabs?
Smashes?
Final Smash?
Taunts?

...I think there's a few holes in your moveset...

I haven't really thought of the tilts and aerials, but I would imagine in order to balance the types of moves for the boxing gloves, some moves will have to involve punching.

It is lots of customization in terms of gameplay. Besides their power is weak anyways.

The Miis are seriously hostile territory, just one issue can cause a sea of complaints, and even more complaints of being too OP than Ridley detractors can throw out literally bombard you...regardless, I have an idea that may make it work well while being very unique. Allow me to explain...

Basically, the Mii's design effects weight, speed and power respectively. the larger the Mii, the stronger and slower, the smaller, the faster but weaker, and that's not all, that's just face value...introducing an idea of selectable sets of moves to choose from. Of course, that also adds on to how much damage you can take

There are a total of five different sets:

#1: Brawler (Up-close character with no projectiles to use, relies on up-close attacks. Can feature all sorts of things featured in all Mii games)

#2: Sniper (A distance-coverage character, but has little-to-no skill fighting up close, features many tossing weapons at different angles)

#3: Trickster (Uses traps and tricks to fight, overall strength is low but speed is decent. Out-predicting opponents is key to use this fighting style properly)

#4: Dogfighter (A character whose skill in battling comes in the air as opposed to the ground. Moves are usually used to get the opponent up in the air, good at juggling, strength and speed is average)

#5: All-Round (The balanced set of all four, having something for everyone while having no strengths but no weaknesses, recommended for beginners)

These moves can come from anything...Wii Sports, Pilotwings Resort, Wii Sports Resort, Wii Play, Wii Party, NintendoLand, etc. This is, like the Mii, entirely up to your own decision, no creation of move-sets, but still unique all the same.

And @TumblrFamous...I'm completely fine with it, in fact, having her as an assist trophy is a hell of a lot better than just a background character. That goes to show that she's just too popular to leave out of the fight, even though it's not directly fighting. I mean c'mon, even Sakurai congratulated her appearance.

This would take more development time than my suggested moveset.
You're basically taking away lots of potential for future Smash newcomers.

Here, let me help.

First, ditch the other weapons.
And make the Bowling Ball Down Special.
A slow (start-up and ending lag included), but powerful attack that kills all it's momentum dropping at a 90 degree angle.
However, it ends up becoming a meteor smash.

This not only means less complications, but now you have materials for other moves.
The baseball bat could be F-Tilt.
The tennis racket could be F-Smash.
The boxing gloves could be either Jab or D-Tilt.
And the golf club could be D-Smash.

One could also give Miis attacks using the Wii accesories.
Such as Neutral Special using the Wii Zapper (perhaps a charge-up Projectile).

Or the Side Special using the Wiimote
Like having the Mii press the Home Button right in front of him, freezing any character/projectiles/items in front of him.
But having it to where the attack needs to charge to be used again.

Second. Make the Up Special a jetpack.
Remember, the Mii can use similar elements to Villager, like referencing other games.
The jetpack could be similar to ROB's Up Special.
Gaining a decent amount of height, but can be countered.
Just one hit will make the jetpack explode. Hurting both Mii and the character (around 10% damage).
However, Mii will fall into a helpless state.

That's just my two cents.

I do like your idea. I'd probably use the sniper version. Thats not to say I would main mii though. Though, how much development time would it take is the ultimate question.
Also, while I don't know how much you wanted Isabel, good to see you are still happy about her appearance. :3

Mii's Moveset :

AAA Combo : Jab,Jab,Downward Punch.

B Standard : Frisbee Throw
B Right/Left : Tennis Racker Repel (Reflect Effect)
B Up : Parachute (Flies Upward as if he/she was skydiving with real effects)
B Down : Punching Bag (Can take one hit of any kind, then flies off,and can hit an opponent with twice the damage dealt to the bag)

Right/Left Tilt : Boxing Glove Hook
Up Tilt : Upward Fence (The lightsaber-looking thing) Swing
Down Tilt : Poke with a racket,or something else

Right/Left Aerial : Bat Swing
Up Aerial : A Putt (Golf Club) Swipe
Down Aerial : Bowling Ball Smash (Has Meteor Smash Effect)

Right/Left Smash : Golf Swing
Up Smash : Basketball Shot
Down Smash : Whistle ( Mii Channel ; may stun when hit, also the waves go horizontally.)

Grab : Does a normal grip like Mario (Cannot be used on ledges like Link or Samus)
Pummel : Headbutt
Foward Throw : Holds them over their heads, then he/she throws them like a Basketball.
Back Throw : Turns around, then they hit them with a tennis racket .
Upward Throw : They throw them upwards in a form as if they were playing "Upsy Daisy."
Down Throw : They dribble them, then they throw them like Mario/Luigi's down throw

Final Smash : Mii Parade ; A clash of random Miis will run and jumps through the stage, hitting an opponent every time. (Side Idea : Can increase number of Miis based on the count of their Streetpass visitors)

Taunt 1 : Whistle as if he/she were calling their group of friends
Taunt 2 : Shows a happy face and raises their arms (or Rayman hands)
Taunt 3 : A music note appears and the Wii Sports Announcer says "Alright!"

I hope this was worth it. I may suck at roster suggestions, but atleast I have a decent idea about movesets.

Still prefer the Wii Menu Hand Drag move for a recovery, there's nothing like it at all.
But at least now we have a consequence.
And it doesn't end up breaking the game (let's be real here. Having the ability to mess up your opponent with anything could end up being called "disruptive" and leading to camping and stalling. That alone could end up banning Mii).

I like the Home Menu idea though.
I try my best! :awesome:

There would be a certain distance the Wii Hand can go to, so it isn't OP.

We'll have to see for ourselves if you assume it will be broken.
