Voice Actor Reuben Langdon has claimed that he voices Raiden (Metal Gear Solid franchise) in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U & 3DS.
Langdon is known for voicing Ken Masters (Street Fighter) and Dante (Devil May Cry).

It ain't for Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale if that's what you're thinking, because he doesn't voice Raiden in that game.

For the record he may have mixed up PSASBR with Smash because he is working on both.
I mean, Raiden could still be an assist or codec or something.

It was already stated he did mocap, not VA, and was also uncredited.

It's believed that he meant MoCap rather then Voice Acting, which the article did amend itself to meaning. That would make more sense in that scenario as Smash doesn't use it whereas Playstation All Stars did.

Toon Zelda being a definite clone doesn't make her seem like a viable choice IMO.

I own that game. It's not that great. It was clearly a knock off of Smash from start to finish, and it was a bad knock off.

I just want my Snake announced. That interview made me happy, until I came back and realized that guy is a complete derp. How do you screw that up? I mean c'mon.

Anyway, anybody else hoping for a character tomorrow? I always have to ask. My disappointment has lessened every time we don't get one, and actually liked today's update.

I personally think that if the only Zelda character we could get is Toon Zelda, then Sakurai wouldn't bother unless he had development time to spare, which seems unlikely.

Oh my gosh, you're that Midna too? We're friends on Miiverse and I didn't even know it! I had suspected though...

I'm not really expecting one, but I guess that's why I'm almost always happy with what we get. That and I treat everyday like the day Vaati gets deconfirmed, so I'm naturally happy seeing him not deconfirmed.

I'm hoping for a character every day. Hope we get a character tomorrow. I don't even care who it is. Just gimme one.


As for Tingle, I find him the most likely, and I wouldn't expect anybody else from LoZ.

I know Tingle has a couple of Spin-Off games, so his moveset would probably be based off those. . . I haven't played them myself so I couldn't tell you

Well, what makes him unique as a character is obvious. He is very...sigh...unique in many ways. His balloons, his random magic, obsession with rupees, all could be incorporated somehow.
As a fighter, however? I don't see how he'd be unique. We already have a much more deserving "and-the-kitchen-sink-too" character, and his name is Villager.

So, I was wondering if I could get some input for my roster, seeing as (some of) you guys know your stuff, I took Krystal off and now I need a replacement.

I'm not going to add Isaac or Saki, since I think Mac is the only assist upgrade, and no Dixie since I've settled on only one DK newcomer. Any ideas?

Having a random button for each player to pick is actually why I no longer have one on my roster.
It looked kind of awkward in Brawl. And you made it looked perfect here. Now I'm pretty confident with that decision...
And I've recently also came to accept the fact that Miis will probably be playable... but I don't think it looks right to put a random Mii head on one icon next to actual characters.
What you did here is perfect and I'll gladly take them off my roster, but still realize they'll be playable. It makes more sense for each player to be able to scroll through their list of Miis on their own without it popping up in the center of the screen causing everybody to stop.
Hooray.
For the missing spot... I think a Zelda newcomer, Isaac, or returning Krystal would be great
I'd say the most likely character that's not on the roster is Dixie Kong... but you already have K Rool... so that's alright.

There is his confetti too, but it doesn't really scream diverse to me, nor does the attacks you mentioned.

I would imagine that it refers to striking a balance between size, weight, speed, playstyle, and so on relative to the rest of the roster. As such, a character's potential traits and stats must be weighed against the entire cast, so that every class of character is in proportion to every other (heavyweights, lightweights, fast, slow, projectile, physical, etc.).

Ever since I couldn't find him in Wind Waker for like 2 hours.
I was walking around that island... and... UGH... WHY DIDN'T I CHECK THAT BUILDING.

But it's mostly the idea of that lame design in Smash Bros fighting.


But I think he would need to be a Tingle character.
He does nothing in Zelda games except float.

His only moves come from Tingle games. So like Yoshi and Wario, I think that's how he'd end up.

I'm expecting Olimar to have Rock and Flying Pikmin as well, I don't think he's dropped down to only three at a time either. Flying Pikmin are already different enough, but some think Rock Pikmin would be the same as Purple Pikmin, so here's a few ways they can be differentiated. A little late, but I love me some Olimar.

Rock Pikmin

• High damage and low knockback, in contrast to Purple Pikmin's high knockback and inconsistent damage.
• Low range like Purple Pikmin but slightly faster, travel in a higher arch when thrown (side special).
• Don't latch on when thrown, but have additional shield breaking properties (side special).
• Slowest but bulkiest Pikmin, even more durable than the Purple Pikmin, these are very hard to kill.
• Throws have high damage but barely any knockback, none of their throws are KO's.
• Strongest at smash attacks and shield damage, weakest at aerials and throws.

And for fun:

Flying Pikmin

• Weakest Pikmin in both health and damage, not reliable for smash attacks.
• Furthest range of all Pikmin, flies very far when thrown and does the most damage (side special).
• Fastest Pikmin in both grabs and smash attacks, can attack in quick succession.
• Increase in recovery height, with an added boost for each Flying Pikmin before the chain launches.
• Highest knockback on throws, but with pitiful damage, good for KO's at high percentage.
• Strongest at aerials and throws, extremely weak in every other category.

I think he'd actually bump up to have one more Pikmin than he could in Brawl, so he could have one of each type out all at once. At least I can hope.
