Much as I want Wario-Land-esque Wario and/or Captain Syrup, I have a feeling it won't happen because Nintendo (And Japan) like WarioWare & pretends the other games are non-existent.

If my Brawl main were to be shown with the same moves as before, this would probably be how I'd react.

......though with a little disappointment that the new Earthshake Punch isn't his Down Smash ala Project:M.

48 Characters.
• Bowser Junior may be too much Mario.
• No new Donkey Kong character is a bad gamble, someone is bound to appear.
• Krystal is kinda meh, normally I'd be indifferent but Star Fox getting a new character over DK is kinda ludicrous.
• Same goes for Kirby.
• Rest of the roster seems pretty good to me!
• No retro character is a pretty big gamble too, you've got a couple of expendable characters (imo) so I suggest considering one to replace someone else.

So my advice is to:
Consider removing Junior, Krystal, or Waddle Dee in favor of a Donkey Kong and Retro character. Whoever you keep is up to you, but that is just my advice.

Good roster, but it needs more Star Fox reps. Also, that Ridley fellow was also de-confirmed. Where is crum? Who's the Kirby with the Doo Rag? Needs more Mario, that's nowhere near enough

The only thing that's iffy to me is no DK newcomer. I honestly think you should consider removing BJ, Krystal, or Bandana Dee in favour of K. Rool.

So is this thread still descending into madness? Not too sure on what to talk about. I guess Pandora's Tower, I know that Xenoblade is the more popular choice around most places though. But I figured that perhaps any of the characters from that game could make it in too. At least as an Assist character.

I agree. I think 48 is a reasonable number, that or 49 and a spot for the random block for a visually pleasing 50 portraits on the character select screen. I would've loved Bowser Jr., but with Rosalina confirmed, i don't think he has good chances anymore. And I don't feel as though Kirby needs another rep- Kirby, Metaknight, and Dedede represent the series more than a Waddle Dee could.

Non-Kanto Pokemon Trainer (I have a great idea! Let's replace PKMN Trainer with the exact same concept!).
Bowser Jr. (Same as Toad).
Ridley (never found him that appealing).
Krystal (We have Fox, Falco, and Wolf. IMO they're more than enough).
Dark Pit (Yes, bring in the emo palette swap. that's a smart choice).
Ghirahim/Impa/Tingle (Don't really need a 5th Zelda rep).
Geno (Never got the popularity).
Miis (implying they're customizable).

There's a few more.
But I'd rather not make anymore ruckus.

Krystal, IMO 3 Star Fox characters is enough as of now.
Medusa, Sadly I think it'll be Palutena.
Paper Mario, I doubt there will be two Mario newcomers. Even though he's popular in Japan, he faces heavy competition with Toad and Bowser Jr.
Kalos Trainer, Why would they cut the most iconic trio for a new trainer with the same concept?

Kamek, I don't think there will be another Yoshi rep. If so, then he'd probably be it.
Tom Nook, I doubt he'll make it this time, but I think he has a high chance next time.

Here's what I think:

Krystal, I think three Star Fox reps is pushing it already, four would be just too much
Robin, or any other FE-character besides Chrom (or maybe Lucina), I'd be very surprised if Chrom didn't make it and some other FE-character did instead
Bandana Dee, as much as I like the idea, I think three Kirby-reps is OK as of now
Chibi-Robo, I'm warming up to the idea of this little thing, but can't see it happening just yet

I also agree with many of the other choices people posted before me. I support some characters which probably won't end up happening either, but I don't want to jinx them haha!

These are just my personal nitpicks, but Layton and Ghirahim I highly doubt, so if I were to make a list like this, I'd switch one of em with Tails, switch Krystal with Roy, maybe switch Paper Mario with Wonder Red because Red's too new as of right now. Tingle I highly doubt, so maybe switch him with Lyn. King K Rool, eh, I kinda doubt, so I would switch him with Chrom.

A Zelda newcomer, an F-Zero newcomer, another Mario newcomer, Roy, Lip, Saki, Krystal, Tom Nook, Bandana Dee, Shulk, Isaac, and any 3rd party besides Pac.

It's not even that I dislike all of them, certainly not Bandana Dee, Shulk and Isaac as they're the closest to characters I support besides our two reptilian frontrunners, but I just don't believe their time is now. Same goes to the rest too, they might happen eventually, aside from Roy that is who I just don't see getting in another Smash Bros. again.

He's certainly the most likely of the ones I listed, but I just have this bad feeling that he's going the way of Isaac and Saki by being an AT.

Yeah, I'll probably agree with egadd, with the games Sakurai wants to represent as Nintendo masterpieces such as Mother (a franchise that that is pretty much dead in popularity outside Japan but is a great game overall) and with the X sequel in mind, I don't see Sakurai losing the opportunity to add Shulk.

I sure hope not. The only reason I think Shulk might be different is Isaac and Saki didn't have much going for them in terms of new games on the horizon at the time of Brawl's release. X is on its way in addition to Xenoblade being a great game and hailed as a masterpiece within the JRPG community and Sakurai did tweet a picture of the Monado a while ago. ....all this Shulk talk makes me want to finish Xenoblade because i still haven't....

I'd recommend getting rid of the random space, as I see us getting at least 48 characters. I'd put a new series character in its place, personally, I think Miis are the most likely, but Shulk is another possibility.

I'd also cut Bowser Jr., and put a Zelda newcomer in his place, since I, like many others, feel the Mario, Pokémon, and Zelda series should remain the same in terms of how many characters.

Also, I'd get rid of Waddle Dee for a DK newcomer, preferably K. Rool, and Krystal for either a retro character (Takamaru and Lip are the big ones) or Chrom.

Overall, I'd give this a 6.5/10 in terms of likeliness, due to some choices like Bowser Jr., Krystal, and Waddle Dee, and I'd give it a 6/10 in terms of how satisfied I'd be if this was the actual roster, since there is no Zelda newcomer or K. Rool, but there is Bowser Jr., who I would like to see.

Yeah, but he is extremely popular in Japan.
Roy is in a close second for most wanted character in Japan, second only to Mewtwo.
So maybe his popularity and demand may earn him a spot on the roster.
