I'd rather Mach Rider over Takamaru. Both would be incredibly intersting, but Mech Rider's moveset would just be so great considering that it would take a pretty creative approach to a fighting biker. Not dissing Takamaru, because I certainly see the potential in his moveset as well.
All in all, I think Takamaru is the more likely candidate, but i'd prefer Mech rider to ride in.

He's my go to after Krystal, but I think people greatly underestimate his moveset potential. However, I would be a bit upset if he were to get in over her, as would many others be. I gradually would accept it though.

I still feel very iffy about any fourth Star Fox rep, but if we were to receive one, I think the best choice would be Krystal for what she could bring to the table as a playable character. The fact that Slippy seems to be a very disliked character amongst the Star Fox community doesn't really help him much...

That's a gigantic fallacy. How can a 2 dimensional chef be a fighter? How can a Famicom accessory be a fighter? The real question is: What does he bring to the table?

Cliff, we need to have a chat. I am also a huge Krystal supporter, but i'm going to give you a nice serving of reality.
While supported and favored, as well as hated, Krystal is nowhere near as iconic as Slippy. Slippy is the OG pilot from the SNES era, and has left a permanent mark on Nintendo's legacy with some of the most memorable lines, and moments. His true fame comes from his true infamy. You take Alex Rodriguez of the New York Yankees. He is arguably the most despised player in Baseball, but with all the hate, comes the fame. That's Slippy Toad. I'm not saying Krystal is not recognized, but she is not as known as Slippy, ESPECIALLY to the players of SF64 who never advanced the series further.

Call me craaaazy, but I'm pretty sure more people would know who Slippy is.
Though "infamous" is probably a more accurate word to describe how people know of Slippy.

I love baseball, but don't talk to me about Alex Rodriguez, I used to go to his games in the summers when I'd go to see my relatives in Texas. I know Slippy's been around longer, but I don't see him coming honestly.

Slippy is much more well known than Krystal is. Infamous, but still more well known [well, technically both can be described as infamous, depending on who you ask, but Slippy has more recognizability and arguably importance (as he's the team's mechanic and the inventor of all their gadgets and machines)].
