I want to talk about Ridley, but there's literally nothing else to say about him.

So, uh...how many of you think alternate costumes are actually going to be a thing? I'd like to think that they will be, but I'm not putting any money down on it.

I'd enjoy as many alternate costumes as I can get in the game, but I'm not getting my hopes up for anything beyond maybe a Villager gender swap or, if he happens, a Kaptain K. Rool outfit. Sakurai and large numbers of users have some strange aversion to costumes that change the character's identity, and I haven't the foggiest idea why. Why does it matter if the announcer reads off a different name? I'd still enjoy running around onstage as, say, a Funky-skinned DK because it'd be the closest thing to getting in a character who's never happening anyway, "disrespect" to that character be damned.

Too much alternate customs will make it feel weird. But I like them, especially if it means Dr. Mario!

Edit: I predict a alternate costume for The Villager, in which he's a girl instead.

K Rool has more supporters, but Dixie is probably more likely due to her prominence in the series and having her own game in the series. And it doesn't seem like Sakurai is too worried about implementing more villains in smash.

Do you even know who Kojima is?

There is no certain answer at this point. SEGA said something very similar in regards to Sonic. Basically the same thing. "We hope to see him in the new game!"

No, they didn't.

Paraphrasing what was said-

Sega: We cannot confirm or deny whether he's coming back, but we think it'd be awesome if it happens. It's possible, but you should ask Nintendo instead of us.

Kojima: I want him back, but I don't think he is going to....Sakurai please bring him back!!!


The two statements are quite different.
Though as I stated in the Snake thread, I'm not saying it's for sure he's not coming back unlike shortie. Just that I have a negative vibe about Kojima's statement compared to the statement Takashi Iizuka gave.

Mega Man could be Protoman. Here's a mockup someone made:

Sonic could be a variety of things - Metal Sonic, Sonic Boom accessories, Sonic Riders accessories, Christmas Sonic, Halloween Sonic, Tuxedo Sonic, the racing outfit from SA2, etc...

Lucario could wear a martial arts outfit. It'd suit him, IMO.

For Rosalina, I'd like to see an adult adaption of the dress she wore as a child, though it probably wouldn't happen. Her biker outfit would be cool though.

Technically, she also has her hair tied up, so it isn't. But you'd get a pretty similar effect with just a palette swap, so I'd prefer something different myself.

For Takamaru it could be his Classic Outfit from Nazo no Murasame-Jo (metal gauntlets, no sheath, blue shirt, ect.) IF they are going with his Samurai Warriors 3 look.
