The issue is its such a miniscule franchise. I do like the look of the character, but its Japanese only (I think?). I believe it is Nintendo, though.
Yes, Nintendo owns the Another Code IP.

Is it Japan-exclusive? No. Both Another Code and Another Code R were released in Europe, and only the former was released in North America under the name Trace Memory.

Yeah, it wasn't very successful, which is presumably why NoA only localized the first game.

Yeah, I crossed out my comment where I mentioned it being Japan exclusive.

I feel like that unless Greninja has an explosion of popularity in the next few years, it won't be in the initial roster in SSB5. I feel that WFT is going to stick around based on her uniqueness alone. She's basically this game's Game and Watch.
U w0t m8? Greninja is easily one of, if not the most popular Kalos pokemon. And this is before he got in smash. I can also see him getting a Mega Evolution so they'd boost his popularity with that too

Diggersby only got popular because of Shofu iirc, and then became even more popular when Verlisify said "Diggerby...no" and lied about how Azumarril is much better because Diggersby can't set up (Swords Dance, Agility) and has no priority moves (Quick Attack)

I don't think DLC color palettes aren't out the question and DLC costumes aren't impossible.
It's possible, yes, but I don't think it'll happen. Kinda like Inklings
I will not be satisfied until this Link is a DLC costume:

Speaking of costumes, **** the guy who thought 2 Luigi palletes that look identical would be good. **** the guy who made Pac-Man and Sonic alts. **** the guy who didn't want Shiny pokemon to be costumes
The sonic and pac man ones were probably sega and namco not wanting their chacaters changed to much,

Plus the blue and yellow pac men look dope

It's also because of the "Diggersby though" meme, which originated on /vp/.

He's popular because he's a big fat rabbit with fists for ears. What's not to love? ;3

I wouldn't mind seeing additional alts for existing characters bundled up with other DLC characters. Like if we where to get a Zelda newcomer. Some alts for Toon Link (Like the Cundoctor and/or Outset outfit) and/or Zelda (Like her Skyward Sword and/or Ocarina of Time design) would be pretty neat imo.

Yeah, as much as I don't really like Greninja very much, I don't think they'd cut him off in the next title that easy. That sounds pretty ridiculous if you ask me.

I can imagine Greninja suffering from the same arguments as Jigglypuff does if he does return. Y'know, the typical "Why is he still here","Greninja is so irrelevant", "He's getting in the way of more deserving pokemon" that type of stuff the Jigglypuff fans have to put with all the time....

Not that any of that matters though. Greninja and Jigglypuff are both cool Pokemon in their own right and they should both stay imo. At least I like them better than Lucario................. :x

On the topic of Greninja, I will say I find his situation odd at the moment. He's definitely the most popular Pokémon for Gen 6, and he got into Smash, which will definitely boost that even further, but they haven't really done much with him to keep himself a mainstay in the main Pokémon fanbase. At this point in their respective generations, you would see a lot of Charizard, Mewtwo, Lucario, hell, even Blaziken and Lugia due to their popularity and breakout status. Yet, Greninja hasn't gotten much in the way of that yet, he's still being kept pretty low-key at the moment and the fanbase isn't giving him as much attention as before outside of competitive where he recently got banned. He's not quite leaving his mark yet, and in a franchise where you constantly have cast members added to the games, that can be deadly and can make the difference between being a Charizard or an Infernape.

Having said that, it's still too early to throw in the towel with the frog. Gen 6 isn't over and we probably have at least one more game on the horizon that they could start marketing him with. So until then, we just have to wait and see.

Greninja's a starter so he's pretty relevant to the franchise, and I recall that Ash's Froakie evolves in the XY anime, so it seems like children who watch the show now would like him. And again, Starters. Something important about starters: So far a third of the starters have brand new spiffy evolutions, wonder how Smogon would react if Greninja gets a boost in that. He needs it, he was nerfed too hard in Smash like how Diddy was nerfed too hard in DKCRTF
