Banjo so I can cry over what could've been

and Ridley because I think it would look amazing.

My top pics would be Isaac and Banjo tho.

With this reasoning, the protagonist of a future FE game will be the next character for Smash, while Lyn remains an assist trophy.

If we were to get a Fire Emblemer as DLC, some characters I'd like to see would be Eirika, Ephraim, and Leif. A character I think could be realistic is Hector.

You could have also assumed that because the second Fire Emblem character in Melee (Roy) was cut and "replaced" by Ike, that Chrom would in turn replace Ike in Smash 4.

Except there was only one cut to the Fire Emblem series, while my pattern happened three times already. And the cut was because of a clone status.

If your pattern was absolutely undebatable then Micaiah would have been the one added to Brawl, not Ike.

*Gasp* Yes. Yes Saki would be great. Especially with his new design in SSB4! I know it would only on Artsy Omni's Smashified thing, but in general Saki and Isaac deserve much more recognition than they already have it's not even funny.

Personally, I want Omni to "Smashify" Jill Valentine:

Preferable this version, but her Revelations version works too.

My reasoning:
- Omni hasn't drawn a realistic character in the Smash artstyle before and it would be good practice
- I want a RE rep in Smash Bros. one day
- Jill is awesome :D

I would be tickled pink to see this roster. Honestly. Ice Climbers I can kinda live without. Rayman because the fake leak made me realize that I would really like to see him. Snake because he's mah boi, and Inklings because I think they'd be super cool.

Plus I think it just simply looks purdy.

Well they've locked themselves into doing the announcement now. They can't just say they're going to do one and then back out, it looks too fishy and it's disrespectful to their consumers.

I personally think that Ubisoft were just as fooled as the rest of us and wanted to contact Nintendo about a potential breach of copyright before making any bold statements. Giving themselves until Tuesday would allow them to be certain they could contact who they needed to on Monday, since the businesses would both be running in full on a weekday, and then prepare a statement for Tuesday as to what was going on.

Honestly, after seeing this hoax, I believe Rayman is the next in line for a third party newcomer, sans perhaps Black Mage.
Obviously, Snake still has priority overall.

I mean, he just fits so perfectly! The artwork and the fanmade poster prove this, Rayman is a really good fit for Smash Bros.

Bandana Dee: Has good moveset potential, and is gaining groundswell as the only co-op partner in the new Kirby game coming out on the 20th.

Excitebiker: If we are getting another retro representative it is going to be Excitebiker. He has relevance in the new Mario Kart 8 DLC track.

Professor Layton: Main character from a famous line of DS games.

Wonder Red: From the best game ever made.

Rayman: Whacky, interesting, and fits the style of Smash Bros really well.

I love you for this and I agree. Excite Bike is definitely next in line.
I just love the idea of a fighter permanently mounted to a bike, attacking by bike stunts like WFT with yoga poses.

rename it to "IconName" and then add a (1) or (2) or there are extra versions of that icon.

It really just proves how people are opposed or reluctant towards a character, especially third parties, up until they think that character is actually going to be included.

Personally I don't have anything against Rayman, he'd be an ok addition, but I have no affinity for him either.

Oh, also you need to open up the roster application and open up one of the taps in the top left corner and there should be a button that says something along the lines of "add new fighter icons".

Really, the truth is that with any kind of believable "leak," the "leaked" character will gain a surge in popularity.

The infamous Palutena leak gave her a significant increase in popularity.

That old Chrom leak made people even more certain of his "shoo-in" status.

The Gematsu leak is entirely responsible for any support Chorus Men have.

That's just how things are. If people truly believe a character is in the game, they'll very quickly support the idea; if it turns out that the character isn't in the game, those feelings will often intensify.

Pretty much dead on. I've been in the position where I've changed my mind about still unreleased characters but I've never jumped on a bandwagon, like the gematsu bandwagon for example. Although I did believe for a while the gematsu leak Chrom always felt iffy to me, I did try to defend him saying he could have a unique moveset though.

It's fairly normal. When people don't give something much thought, they don't care. But once they think hard on something and consider a number of things, their opinions change.

However, there's changing an opinion based on research/actually having reasons, and then there's being a sheep and being one with the herd. With those examples you posted, I fell in love with each choice after seeing what they could do. Other people...well, other people just might hop on the bandwagon to do so.

I mean, in some of those cases, it's different people saying different things, but other times, it's people backtracking at the speed of light so they're not ridiculed for stupid things they've said or agreed with.

Stuff like "Little Mac has no chance because he only punches" or "Pac-Man has no chance because Sakurai said Namco wouldn't get any favors [because gaming's most recognizable figure and a moderately big request would only ever be added as a favor]."

Of course, if nothing happens to contradict those stupid statements, they're held up as objective truth. Certain purple space dragons know that better than anyone.
