Geez, just calm down about this whole wolf thing. True I find him the most likely after Mewtwo, and he didn't deserve to be cut. If anything, StarFox needs more reps, not less, but it's not like he's that needed or anything. If we get him as DLC, that's great, but if we have to wait till smash 5 when StarFox representation is sure to be better, that's great too.

I doubt that makes a difference either way. He's pretty much the Marth of Golden Sun, I think he'd be the best and most likely choice of newcomer regardless of whether he appears or not.

Oh, I know he's the best candidate anyway, but I know someone is going to arbitrarily say "but what if Isaac doesn't appear." The fact that Isaac is guaranteed to appear in a possible GS4 only further proves why he'd be the best candidate from the franchise.

I'm intrigued as to how he'll play. From a technical perspective, it will be interesting all the same.

I'm not a big fan of Mewtwo, but I'm glad he's in the game, he's got some pretty cool moves.

I had to wait 12 years for Duck Hunt Dog to get in Smash in the first place. I think you can wait 6 years for Wolf/Lucas to come back in SSB5... in the meantime, go back and play Brawl or Project M to get your Wolf/Lucas fix.

Also, if we start adding a bunch of popular characters as DLC in SSB4, who are we going to add in SSB5? And no, there is no "if" when it comes to a new Smash Bros., it is a matter of "when" we will get a new Smash Bros.

If you were able to wait 12 years for DHD, I honestly believe you should understand the pain of the mains of cut vets/people who like the character in general are going through, praying for the day that their character gets back in smash, which may never happen. People may be obnoxious about it at times, and I would understand where you'd be annoyed by that, but surely you can be at least a little sympathetic?

"When?" Smash Wii U was released only a few months before, and now we're talking like another game is a guarantee? This isn't Mario or Pokemon, which releases games at least every 1-2 years and are the only Nintendo franchises more popular and have more sales than Smash. Sakurai is exhausted, said he wouldn't be directing again. Granted he said this before, but this project I believe has strained him greater than previous iterations. I do believe that Nintendo would get someone else to direct if Sakurai doesn't change his mind, but we cannot state with absolute certainty. A lot can change in six years, whether good or bad. And would we really want another game if Sakurai isn't involved? Chances are, I believe it would be a lot worse, at least in roster choices, but of course it could be a lot better perhaps.

I'd be a bit bummed if Sakurai left, few tentpole multiplayer games of this scale still have the distinct imprint of a single personality, for better or worse. But yeah, there's no way they're going to hold off on it if he retires. It's such a mainstay and crowdpleaser for Nintendo now that the only possible reality I can imagine in which we don't get a new one is one in which Nintendo no longer exists in the form it does now. I just hope that they have someone waiting in the wings with both the management skills to oversee such a large production and the creativity to imbue it with life.

(Also, still hyped for Mewtwo. Always hyped.)

While we are giving them money, it takes time and tireless work to make full-fledged characters. And we are asking for so many other characters other than mewtwo! So that's why I feel that maybe we are asking for a lot and I can't find a word that describes this other than greedy. I hope I don't make anyone feel bad that was not my intention

You're not making anyone feel bad.
And I know what you meant but from a business standpoint, this is exactly what they want this is a great way for them to make more money, and besides all of this the 3 characters allot of people want can easily be ported, little time, little hassle.

How dare we ask game developers to do a job that pays them!

If I were them I'd hope that I could stay to make DLC content, much easier and simple to do then moving on to an entirely new project.

It's Mewtwo, of course he's going to get a trailer, I'm willing to bet that, yes, Mewtwo's trailer will be allot like the newcomer trailers. Why? Because he's the only non-clone veteran that missed Brawl and is returning. Plus, he's kind of a big deal.

Said trailer would also showcase the Miiverse stage and Tournament Mode, as well as one or two extra surprises.

Sakurai would probably still have to judge whether or not Isaac deserves to join in Smash even if he had a new game, considering Dark Dawn with its ok reception and sales probably made Isaac into a low priority in the consideration list. There's most likely going to be some uncertainty with Sakurai because of that.

If GS4 manages to get critically acclaimed and/or become a best selling game, then I could see him in Sakurai's character consideration radar, for SSB5.

Sales are questionable, but it was massively praised at the time of release by critics, with mixed to positive reception from fans. The only sales numbers we have to go by are VGChartz, which gives us a ballpark estimate, but that's about it.

Super excited for Mewtwo (I can finally play as a Pokemon I like!), though I must admit that it is very hard to stay hyped with such an information drought.

I don't see him getting a trailer, though his segment from the 50 fact extravaganza may be added to the movie section as part of the DLC.

Yeah we're all going insane over the info drought, this is clearly deliberate on Sakurai's part Sakurai: Well its probably his amusement watching us go insane speculating on DLC, he knows how much more he's doing, but won't give us hints, just that he didn't have any plans at the moment 2 months ago, and that he never said Mewtwo was the only DLC character, he also hasn't shown any Mewtwo footage, which is really suspicious. I consider a game who has average ratings close to 80 to be good reception overall.

I don't know about that... the pain of losing a character in a sequel seems trivial compared to the pain of never having a character ever. At least I can still play the cut vets in Melee/Brawl. They didn't go anywhere. Can I play as Meowth in a past Smash game? No, I cannot so I am still praying for the day he finally gets in Smash. So, it is really difficult for me to feel sympathetic for the people who are crying about cuts. Don't you think I lost some of my favorite characters too? But you don't see me constantly bemoaning over their cuts EVERY. DAY. FOR. OVER. SIX. MONTHS. (August 2014 to February 2015) and being stuck in the Bargaining stage (I consider "hoping for DLC" to be this).

Nintendo will still want to make another Smash game whether Sakurai is involved or not... they would be dumb to let this cash cow die. At this point, Smash is like Mario Kart... one killer app per console... and it doesn't matter who makes the roster choices, people will still hate the roster anyway. I am pretty sure Nintendo and Sakurai know the key to failure is trying to please everyone... and last I checked, Mario Kart 8 and SSB4 still sold millions despite their "awful" rosters.

Youve got such enthusiasm. I really want to get on board... I just wish I ever liked the idea. The only one I'm moderately on board with is... Wolf.

I think Wolf and Ice Climbers will most likely return, and either could be next in line for development for DLC after Mewtwo. Seeing as Wolf was low priority in Brawl, he probably wouldn't take much development time. Same with Ice Climbers, as they do have a moveset available. Next up, I wouldn't dare expect any characters with development time as long as Mewtwo. Wolf is a possibility, and since he's a semi-clone that gives room for others. As Lucas, Dixie Kong and Impa.

I'd be 100% satisfied with the roster if they'd include Lucas, Wolf, Dixie Kong and Impa. All these additions bring back a franchise balance in the roster, and would not take as much development time as other characters. In fact... If they had to reduce the originality of Wolf and Lucas and make them more cloney... I'd take that to. Dixie with just an unique Up B recovery compared to Diddy? Yes give me that. Impa as only a stronger but slower Sheik, or as an alt? I'll take that to, gladly.

Asking for too much more would be deluding I think. Even though I do have a small hope that Isaac and King K.Rool could potentially be added as DLC whenever they appear in a new title, cause they are nearly Mewtwo popularity, and they could be unique surprises to 'revive' Smash in a couple of years.

Also, maybe Sakurai does deserve a little rest after Mewtwo is done?

More character DLC can go either way really, I don't think we should be calling people deluded until we see more news regarding character DLC.
