Also, had a really fun For Fun(fitting isnt it)

I went :4falcon: vs sanic(:4ness:)and Jaiden(:4ryu:)

Next 2 matches:There was no fighting at all,just a friendly match,no killing
Me(:4falcon:) vs sanic(:4ness:) vs Alex(:4fox:with the Wolf costume)vs Dark Jay(:4marth:)
Unfortunately the Ness player(sanic)became a bot mid-match
Me(:4samus:)vs sanic-bot(:4tlink:)vs Alex(:4kirby:)vs Dark Jay(:4ness:)

Hello Wolf lovers! I just created an account on here! While I haven't commented before, I've actually been paying close attention to this board--even using it as my source for DLC rumors. I FIRMLY believe that Wolf will be DLC and I have a theory. No, I am not blinded by the handsome beast nor am I over optimistic, though I do have, what I like to call, Veteran bias. I believe that Mewtwo and Lucas were planned to be in the base game.

First of all, there's Masahiro Sakurai with his claim that there'd be no DLC after Mewtwo. Mewtwo is pretty much the Snake of Melee, being highly popular and iconic, but being cut in the next installment. Mewtwo is the only veteran so far not be a clone--making him a high priority.

Then there's Lucas who is in the awkward position of requiring a rather handful of development time (compared to Dark Pit, PHD Mario and Lucina) but being a clone, getting less priority.

Third, there's the ginger warrior, our boy, Roy. Pretty much the same as Lucas except there's Lucina AND Marth. Roy is the opposite of Marth (with the base sweetspot) with Lucina being the moderate version of both.

Ryu is the epiphany that all DLC so far are veterans. I also believe it was a combination, being a favorite of Sakurai's and a face that people would purchase. *Notice how he's packed with a stage ;)

I know it's been said ALOT but the Falco amiibo, I believe, has a release date of the Holiday season to come out alongside Star Fox Zero. And I also believe the Fox amiibo is in short supply, in need of a restock. I believe there could be potential two-pack (Falco and Wolf) or a three pack (Fox, Falco and Wolf). ANOTHER reason for Wolf's delay is that he's such a unique character from Fox and Falco, requring more development time than that of Roy and Lucas, but again with priority--I don't remember when, but Sakurai stated rather than add more characters, to differentiate more between existing characters. (Mewtwo is the ONLY DLC character to be PLANNED in the base game, but cut due to time restraints rather than priority). As a result of development time and the Ryu Realization, Wolf has not seen his release. But even when he finished (or finishes), Star Fox Zero is nearby so they might as well wait until it comes out. Plus it allows for there to be another double prize day (similar to Roy-Ryo).

Interesting,this might be a INTERSTELLAR(forgive me)theory

THAT JUST MIGHT BE TRUE

P.S.:My hinge on my 3DS fell again, fixed it(tho I'm scared it'll fall off again and kill my 3DS)

I apologize in advance for my lengthy post. It's been 2 months since we've gotten new characters and I get fidgety! I also LOVE speculating!
In short, Mewtwo is the only one who was cut due to time restraints
Lucas was put aside for being a semi clone but requiring significant development time
Roy is possibly the same as Lucas (excpet with 2 base characters)
Ryu was either a deal from Capcom or Sakurai's epiphany--I believe Ryu is the first character thought of AFTER the base game's release.
Wolf is the most unique of the Semi-Clones and as a result, requires MORE development time while still being a semi-clone possibly losing priority (Notice how Melee-Brawl clones remained for four rather than the newcomer clones in Brawl--also Semi-Clones are something of a guarantee for people's moolah).

Welcome aboard AnonymousMoon!

It's great to see you've gotten some use out of this thread even without being a member.

You have an interesting theory as well that, hopefully, happens as that would result in Wolf coming back, which is something we all want to happen.

*throws blaster* :4fox:

For that theory, I'd say it's basically everything we think...

Development time is a thing, but what exactly makes Sakurai decide on when to release who?

I believe every characters out there is cut for time constraints, if not having other problems already (Snake having company issues,ICies having rendering issues, Pichu and Young Link having no declone potential etc). The brawl leftovers are one evidence that some Melee vets are put into consideration too, but ended up incomplete due to time constraints/low priority.

For 4, we don't have any solid evidence, but
I think it's safe to say Lucas, Wolf, Roy and Mewtwo are planned, but had no time to finish before released.

Out of all of them, Mewtwo is the most popular, so he is probably used as a DLC testfire.

However, after that, we don't actually know what happens. Ryu may be a deal from Capcom, that he was chosen over Megaman, but Sakurai chose the latter.

Lucas... His series/appearance basically ended with no future, so technically he should've been of lower priority. Yes he has a developed fanbase in smash, but Wolf has both: a fanbase and a future.

Roy, technically he would actually need more development than at least Brawl veterans. He needed some decloning, some new animations, and even hiring a voice actor Sakurai hadn't worked with for ten plus years. Also his popularity, I haven't really seen much polls where he gets on above Wolf at least.

The only thing we could inspect is that Wolf may be released along with the release of Star Fox Zero, and that's just a possibility.

Dunno, I might be too pessimistic on things, but seeing how theories of Wolf chosen or not in every wave of DLC get built up and broken down, I don't think these theories are worth making up for anymore.

Oh, and
Lol I am not going to regret this XD
Howl to the Sakurai moon!

I suppose you're right, Logo12. I just thought that the semi-clones (Lucas and Roy, of course) were put planned but put to the side to focus on other characters (in a way, Lucina could prove the semi-clone stance of Roy) for being similar to their clones. "But what about Luigi, Ganondorf, even Falco?" All of those are Melee-Brawl vets who would cause a lot more spiff for not being in the base game. :4mewtwo:Mewtwo was the perfect first DLC character because he wasn't a clone and he was a beloved veteran whose fans eagerly awaited his return. :4lucas:Lucas was then worked on solely because he was from Brawl and was easy to make (I'm approaching the danger zone of speculation, I'm aware :p) Then there's:4feroy: Roy--whose role in this theory--somewhat baffles me. He finishes the sword gimmick being the base-sweetspot. In Roy's case (and this is strictly MY opinion), he is neither easy as Lucas nor is he as unique as the Mew of Two.

Then there's :4ryu:Ryo (spelt this way so my brain can make an anagram) who was either Capcom's approach "Heya, Sakurai...I hear you're looking for smash fighters...*sticks money in Sakurai's back pocket*" Although I personally think this is Sakurai's own idea.

(From here on out, it's wishful thinking)
:wolf: Wolf required more development time than that of Lucas but less than that of Roy. He was the last semi-clone put in the game.
:snake: was cut from the base game entirely due to a combination of being a favor in Brawl and not having a big presence on Nintendo consoles. But was brought back because...well..Fan service!

:popo: the Climbers of Ice were cut from the game because the 3DS had hardware problems. But with much fan demand, we decided to create a close-knit version of Ice Climbers. The Bond of the Ice Climbers is so strong that they almost look to be ONE person. But when you swing the mighty hammer, you'll notice another hammer hitting down upon your opponent. We also have Nana alts!

One can dream, I suppose...(also, this is last time I post my blasted theories XD sorry for the headaches)

Good afternoon from Spain, Wolf fans!
Another great picture of :wolf: that I've found!
Enjoy~

Wow how do you find these omgeeeee

Also wow, Fox and Falco's eyes are darker than I've remembered.

I still want to know why is Toon Link kept out of all the semiclones in Brawl, when identity wide he's much closer to his original counterpart than the others. Will he seriously cause more spiff than Wolf or at least Lucas?

Other than that, it's more opinion than theory I fear.

Oh wait it's said already

The release date is the same for America as well (for star fox. Mario tennis is still holiday).
This big pile of new release dates and prices makes me a little worried about when the next Nintendo direct will be.

But saying that Star Fox Zero is also gonna be out on that day(and quite possibly the Falco amiibo,if not exclusive anywhere, would be easy to find)(I hope that it's common;cuz he's my favorite Nintendo character alongside Mr.Game and Watch)

I'm afraid you've stumped me, good sir. You could say that since Toon Link is from Zelda, that he receives more likability. and focus If you really want to stretch it out, you could say that Toon Link is spiritually a Melee-Brawl vet replacing that of Young Link but at this point I'm grasping for straws. Here's hoping for Wolf DLC *raises glass*

Great to finally have a release date for Star Fox Zero.

Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash launching on the same day is also a nice surprise.

The finalized boxart is much better than the old too.

Also, I really like the Wolfen shooting at Fox's arwing.

Star Fox Zero and Xenoblade Chronicles X are coming out on the same day - I'm probably going to get both regardless, but I feel like that's really going to hurt sales for one of them, if people have to choose between one or the other.

I really hope Europe doesn't get Zero before us, but they probably will. They got Xenoblade, Xenoblade 3D, New 3DS xl, Wooly World, pretty much all amiibo waves, and they don't have exclusive amiibo or 3 packs.

Dang, looks like they're punishing us for something lolz

Well, the Europe (where I live) gets Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon in 2016 while America gets it this year, also Europe usually gets games later than America, so I think it's fair that the Europe gets something first.
