We may also need a new Shielding Animation, because just invisbile Shields would look ******** I think.
wrong, invisible shield won't look ********, they shield with their arms :S and the energy shiled it's just a smash thing, removing it won't affect their animation

also, we may need to take the shield away not make it invisible cause that would make the energy shield still be there

I also had removing running already in mind, maybe Sonic could be the only one who keeps his running (C'mon Sonic without running....)...
again, we will need to remove the running yes, but we can also add the running as a command not just tapping the Joystick

OK I will view the shield animation again xD

So Sonic could have running as side-b for example xD

Anyway I will add this to the OP, which again got updated (No Airdodging and Spotdodging added too)... the list gets longer and longer, haven't thought of a that long list at the beginning :0

Double jumps are fine. Plenty of fighters have them. Unless you don't want them in.
I think it's more traditional and street fighter based if we left them away, only multi-jumpers cause problems, because without their multijumps one of their main characteristics would be gone. I also dont know what about gliding... Up-Bs like Pits or Robs also dont make it really better xD (But this could be changed as well relatively easy ^^)

Btw. I thought about making Giga Bowser a Viable Character (Lol) j4f...

It would need a better selection (I'd prefer holding L/R while pressing start when Bowser is beeing choosed)...

Also I dont know about multiple GBowsers... is one darker or do both exactly look the same ._.

If we could make an working GBowser that would be very unique :O

But dont put too much on this now, this was just a random idea I had xD

Wow, just reading through this thread and thinking about the project really illustrates the fundamental differences between traditional 2D fighters and Smash.
I really wish I could help this project out maybe I'll learn how to hack just to do so =|

So what are you thinking about as far as mapping the buttons? I imagine you're going to change that too and have something like:
B:Jab
A:Tilt
X:Smash

Low blocking is going to be weird too. Some characters don't have suitable crouches for that(Snake) so you'd have to change those up.
Anyways, good luck on the project!

So what are you thinking about as far as mapping the buttons? I imagine you're going to change that too and have something like:
B:Jab

Maybe:
..........................Y = Punch........................
.....................................................................
B=Specials.............A = Kick.............X = Grab

Stick Jump will be Jump.
Back on Control Stick will be Shield.
L = Punch
R = Kick
Z = Grab

C-Stick will have no usage anymore.

But thats all theorie, I think we should at first concentrate on the less complicated stuff :p

I've been messing around with some things. there is a code that let's you face a specific way, and I need to find a way to make it so you face te opponent (not just right or something like that)

what about walking backwards? is that even possible?
i guess it could use fire flower/walking shooting items/ leg animation in some way? or maybe reverse the speed of walking.

Just a heads up, it doesn't matter if the name "Street Fighter" is trademarked or not, you can still use it. Unless you intend to sell this, in which case it is illegal.

Waive what, low attacks and low blocking in general? High/low attacks are a pretty fundamental part of traditional fighting games, man.

Brawl has a high/low engine. There are DamageHi and DamageLws. The question is, is it possible to utilize that to make the shield only work there?

So are you going to give characters inputs for their specials like 623b for mario's coin uppercut?(if it's possible) That way you wouldn't have to lose a special to be able to do a final smash. Also what about letting all characters have a back and forward dash akin to street fighter 4's except in sonics case he could keep running if you hold down the direction he dashes in.

Well... ZSS is also some kind of that, but I want to separate Sheik, ZSS and all pokemons so that they are individual characters (New Down-Bs // No Poke Change when DIing and no FS switch).

Yeah that's true, but it would be stupid to throw the project away if we cant get this. Shield can be angled atm, maybe could make shields small, but strong, and maybe more flexible, so that it could be something like that :S

Sorry I'll rephrase that basically would you consider making characters specials activate the same way as street fighter does. Like for example to do ryus light shoryuken you'd push the joystick forward, down, diagonal then press light punch.

I'm not the one either, but you made the thread and came with ideas, but there are people here that know coding as if they were born with it, and still think there are things limmited or maybe hard to do with this

idk... just wanted to ask if you think that you will manage to do the hard work of the project, like 50-75% of the project

lol just ignore this post, I don't know coding, I know basics on psa and basics on Brawlbox (learning alot of animation stuff for characters) but still isn't enough

I want to create my own psa... but since I'm not adept at GFX/SFX or advance stuff in psa I can't make my own

I want to create my own bowser codeset... trial and error only triggers bad stuff in my head, alot of pain yes

I hope people like shanus, cape or good coders/psa/brawbox users want to join this cause and help this project to come true

623 refers to directions on a control pad assuming your character is facing right. Each number represents a direction input.

anyway, forget about that input engine for now people. I gotta find soem time to get the basic codes done first.
I have a decent idea how I will do most of them, but action swapping is kind of sloppy so that might need to be done differently.

At questions:

I already said that I'm not skilled enough in coding to do this on my own, I'm very pleased that people, especially PK helps me (us) with that, for now I can only sum up ideas and stuff. Later I could help in changing the characters to make them more fitting to the idea and also in balancing everything out as good as possible, because PSA is like the only thing I really can do something with (BrawlBox too), but there are a lot of people who are even better in this.

But I never said that I decied anything on that, I just throw out what I THINK is the best, maybe read my posts again :(

@PK: For now I have enough time to wait for you, since most of my time atm I do a lot of school things and fitness. Anyway it would be nice if some codes would be available at friday so we can test them about weeekend :p

Right now it is still in its early development phases as none of the coding has been done, it will attract interest once more of the project gets done; right now, it is just a concept, and people are pessimistic and don't believe it will get done. Its up to you to prove us wrong, I'll be around and keep an eye on this project as it grows, hopefully you manage to pull it together. Consider me a supporter of this project, I look forward to seeing this happen.
