General rules:
* Items are set to off.
* Stock and Time are set to 4 stock and 8 minutes respectively.
* Regular sets are best of 3 matches.
* Pools may be used for proper seeding to bracket.
* The Tournament Host is the arbiter of all disputes.
* Stage Striking will be in effect for the first match of the set. The player with the lower port will get to choose the first strike. Loser chooses ban before next match.
One ban per player per set. To be chosen after loss.
* Blind Picks: the first character selection of a set must be without prior knowledge of the opponent's character selection for both players.
* Modified Dave's Stupid Rule: No player can counter pick a stage he or she LAST won on unless agreed upon by both players.
* Gentleman's clause: any stage may be played on so long as both players and the Tournament Host agree to it, including banned stages. This can be used in tandem with the Modified Dave's Stupid Rule (MDSR).
* Timed out matches will be determined by the remaining number of lives, then percentage of the current stock. In the event of a percentage tie, replay that match. Any Sudden Death match is strictly not to be played.
* For teams, Team-Attack is ON and life-stealing is allowed.
* Stalling is defined as extending the match indefinitely to the point where the opponent cannot do anything to prevent it. This may involve peach wall-bombing, Ice-climber freeze glitch, etc. Shine stalling is not a "stall". For any disputes regarding this, Eric Brown (TO) must be contacted and he will decide whether a situation can be called stalling. Any person found stalling a match will forfeit that match, but not the set.
* Winners' Final, Losers' Final, and Grand Finals are best of 5 matches.
* BRING YOUR OWN CONTROLLER!

Thanks for this date, Eric.

The 26th just would not have worked for me at all, as I just found out. You can confirm me.

Can we do singles first?

Because depending on how efficient we are, I might have to leave early.

As well (this is something I've been thinking about for a while), it encourages people to get to the venue on time.

I know I'm nothing special and if we don't want to do singles first, that's okay. But I'd really really appreciate it if it were.

but those tvs are massive

and i see manuel :O
i dunno, i find doubles first good cause it gives time for people to warm up anyways, but i dont really mind which one comes first

Well, if there are 6-8 TVs, and we start doubles at 11am then I don't see why 6 hours shouldn't be enough to run doubles and singles tournament for less than 30 entrants.

IMO if people get there at 10ish to start setting up/warming up, then:

11:00-1:00 doubles. Should be mooaaar than enough time with 6-8 TVs.
1:45 start singles. This gives time for lunch and registration.
1:45 - 5:00pm gives more than three hours to finish singles. Again, if there are 7 TVs, that means 14 people are playing tournament matches at any given moment. That's really good, especially closer towards the end of the bracket.

It's all about organization imo. And since some people are so dedicated (I'm thinking Victoria/Okanagan), I think the organization is well-deserved. If we finish early, we can have other fun events like $5 low tiers or something.

If it's on the 19th, I can personally help run the tournament.

Btw I'm totally willing to pitch in half of the TV cost, Will. We just need a place to keep it, and a way to get it there.

Ideally, the people coming from far away without a car shouldn't be the ones bringing TVs.

I can bring a cube. I just don't have any TVs, sorry guys.

Have we heard from Evan about whether he can help out?

Is anyone coming from the Okanagan?

I felt like carpooling to a tourney and saw this and checked to see if it was within a 5 hour driving distance and if so I would have came.

I checked and its a 46 hour drive......maybe another time lmao!!
