No really, I quit.
Let go of the B button.

More descriptive summary: You're uh... bad, but your friend managed to be worse. But don't fret because all of us were at some point, hell, some of us still are.

Ftilt is not really a damage builder move, it barely even qualifies as a spacing maneuver. You don't aerial at all, you love your B attacks even though ike might just have the single worst B moveset in the game, and you don't really space yourself. All of these seem moot considering you don't need them to beat your friend, but like I said, everyone's gotta start somewhere.

I love the random smashes and that you didn't even attempt to punish Luigi when he was hanging on the edge at the 3:19 mark. Nine fireballs to the face has to hurt...

I'd post more, but I wont.

Seems to me like your a beginner to Advanced smash, I suggest get the basics down, like spacing, shorthopping, approach and an understanding of the physics of the game. For now practice the first 3 the 4th will come naturally. GO on you tube and look for Ike vids so you can learn about him

Here are some of mine (very old and I was so scrubish) I was pretty bad when i made these but they will show you an understanding of the advanced side, a little

I'll post up some soon (now that I've you know, learned stuff and played pros xD)

Good luck to ya!

Basically the same things I said in the Bowser thread.

And...yeah, shield and dodge A LOT more. And use Ike's jabs more. IMO, he has the best Jab combo in the game. You should also grab and down throw, followed by aether at low-moderate percents. Pretty basic, but these work. Don't do advanced techniques til you're comfortable with the basics.

And good luck ^^

If this is the only competition you have to face, then don't waste your time getting better, inexperienced players always lose to Ike.

Otherwise, you're both pretty terrible, sorry if that sounds bad, just the truth.
I really don't know what playing advice to give, because you're playing at a level far far far from competitive, mainly by not playing in a way that's reactive to your opponent, you're just pressing buttons without really thinking or watching what your opponent is doing, just what he is.

Like I said, if all of your friends are this good, then don't waste your time getting better, you'll just surpass them and they'll never want to play with you.

Otherwise, go to the Ike video board and just take notes, that's step one to getting better. After that, ask questions based on what you saw.

Don't bother getting better? Wow that's the most helpful advice yet. Better yet is how Kalm wastes 200 words on "You aren't good."

Everyone else's advice is more reasonable. Learn and get better, if you play regularly with your friends they might get better with you.

Most of what needs to be said was already said. Just learn more about Ike as a character and the game on a whole. Encourage your friends to do the same so that you can improve together.

Try Jumping more frequently and use aerials. I literally saw almost zero jumping. Remember that against fast characters, like Falco, Fox, G&W, MK, and even Kirby to some extent. Try not smashing so much, and utilize up and down tilts. Also practice the D-Air; it is one of Ike's most infamous weapons, aside from Aether. That's about it in general.

Your Ike is...crappy. There is nothing I can say to get you to improve other provide links and tell you to face competent opponents. There's nothing to take in from mere struggles of someone of such a calibur. If you can't take anything in at all, then give up. In the higher leagues half of these things is child's play. If you think you have what it takes, then prove me wrong.

One more thing, those FSmashes out of nowhere. Yeah... stop that. When your opponent is on the edge, don't just sit there (3:19). Try to hit him with a Bair or something. And try to pick up the pace a bit. Don't be discouraged. See and learn from your flaws and you'll improve.
