"And you know us, Chris, we don't talk about things until we are confident that they are in a place where we're going to be able to deliver on them in relatively short order after talking about them."

Is it just me, or did they skip this concept when making Brawl?

"Keep playing Mario Kart. Keep playing Smash Bros." --Cammie Dunaway

Just goes to show you how reassuring she is.

The same thing occurred to me. What happened with Brawl? And what about Twilight Princess, which got delayed for so long? Nintendo is really bad about releasing their games on time sometimes. I'd be a little surprised if AC:CF actually gets released before the holidays because of how good they are about that, and, you know, it's the only franchise title we have to look forward to now so of course it'll get screwed up.

It's just some lame excuse, and unfortunately a lot of fans are buying it. They get complaints about the core franchises and such, and they decide they'll cover it up with a "We just don't want to reveal them until they're closer to being done." I've said it once, I'l say it again, I'm sick of all of this talk. Either shut up and do something or just shut up. Either way, their actions will speak louder than words.

On the topic of the rest of the interview, however...

Her smile. No one thinks she's fake. Everyone is just annoyed by her. Especially how she can grin and smile obnoxiously throughout interviews where she tells us to keep playing games we've had for months now.

Don't you love how they act like they're speaking to the casual gamers at E3? Like, honestly. How many casual gamers can you think of that even know what E3 is, much less ones that would sit down and watch their entire nearly hour-long conference like I, and many others, did? They're not appealing to the casual gamers. When Wii Sports Resort hits shelves, they'll be all over it but I doubt they're actually watching the conference and counting down the days.

And even Super Mario Sluggers, which is certainly an expanded audience title, but what core gamer doesn't love Mario and baseball and finding out which combination of characters are going to do what kind of crazy things in the field?
*Facepalm*

Who plays video games to see combinations of Mario characters doing crazy things on a baseball field? Especially core gamers?

Also, gotta love her expectations of third parties to come out with a sequel ASAP. First of all, developing a video game takes time. Secondly, shelling out a sequel in a few months is going to result in a poorly done game, or just a casual game. So why do we want this again?

Wired.com: So this is really becoming more of an issue now with the U.S. with more WiiWare games, because WiiWare games are in many cases larger than Virtual Console games. And people like me who downloaded a lot of Virtual Console games in the beginning, a lot of WiiWare games -- my Wii is full. It's full. And not only is it full, but all of the methods that Nintendo suggests to deal with this -- delete and redownload, for example -- are aggravating, take a lot of time, and make me buy fewer WiiWare products. So the people who are buying per capita the most of these downloads are running out of places to put them, and it's turning them off of buying more. So what is Nintendo going to do to fix this?

Dunaway: We don't have any storage solutions to announce at this E3. I know what we do in my household, which is to focus on the new game, because we're always kind of excited, "OK, what's going on WiiWare this week?" So we delete the old games that we're not using, knowing that they're always going to be there if we want to go back. It seems to be kind of a trade for a lot of gamers, that they want the newest, the freshest and they'll play that for a while.
They said that they were aggravated by that method, and then she replies by telling him to do just that?
And honestly, if I got rid of an old game every time I got a new one, I'd be without some awesome games which I still get great replay value out of. Maybe she buys games that have 5 hour gameplay time, but I like to buy games that have a substantial amount of gameplay time as well as great replay value. I'm not going to delete a game to make more room, because I want to get some replay value, get my money's worth.

So you've got Grand Theft Auto, which will go after one audience, and Cooking Navi, which will go after a completely different audience.
Okay, why is Nintendo SO CONVINCED that GTA appeals to all of the hardcore gamers? I'm a hardcore gamer, as hardcore as they get, and I have never played, nor do I intend to ever play, GTA. It just shows more and more that Nintendo doesn't understand exactly what appeals to the hardcore gamers.

Also, at the beginning of the article it says that Cammie is a "convenient scapegoat" for hardcore gamers. She's not a scapegoat. She is a casual gamer with an important position in Nintendo. She spent half of E3 complaining about her wrist, and the other half talking about how cute her pixelated dog was. She says stupid things in interviews like "Keep playing Mario Kart, keep playing Smash Bros". And overall, she represents EXACTLY what Nintendo is trying to appeal to. That's probably how she got the position. So she's not a scapegoat at all. I hate her, but it's not because of Nintendo, it's because of her.

Hmm working with Frito lay really did a big number on her head it seems. Video games do not Equal chips you know.

I read the interview and she expects Lucas Arts and other 3rd devs to make a 2.0 version of the game. It sickens me alot.

Also has any one asked her what theme this is? You know play a song and see if she knows where its from.

This is basically what Nintendo's plan with the Wii is. They expect hardcore gamers to get it because they stuck with Nintendo for years but they use dumb gimmicks to get people who didn't even play video games until Wii came out to buy their stuff. Nintendo is just doing anything to get more money.

F***ing Nintendo, you're ruining your image IMO.

Well yes, but why do they think casual gamers care about E3? That's my point. They are appealing to casual gamers in every action these days, but why are they even bothering with E3?
