He did, but after how many people asked him? He first asserted it wasn't a good step.
This in particular is what I disliked most:
If he was Town and there was a chance that the person he thought was confirmed Town with him was not confirmed: why would he ever feel the need to lie about the results of asking for clarification?
As town you would be very much wanting to let the rest of town know whether the person you're in communication with can be trusted or not for later (as well as know yourself). There's no town intent in lying about it, he'd be asking the mod right away upon hearing that it was questionable and he could simply ask and receive. You would want town to be able to be sure of your mason partner if you die and flip town mason.
In fact, he could be lying about the whole "I'll ask the mod" stuff. First, if he didn't receive a mod confirmation about his partner straight at game start, it's very unlikely to get it after, as that would mean the mod didn't intend to confirm it. Second, if he's scum, he doesn't need to ask for the alignment of his partner, because he would already know if he's scum or not. If he was town, on the other hand, knowing the information of his partner would be tremendous for him and for us. The only reasons I can see to avoid giving us that info is that either they both are scum, or they have a third party alignment/lovers relationship.
I'm not trying to say that there's much chance of it, but it's not like it's completely impossible. I don't see why it would be restricted to OS games, just because it's only been in his games. Don't get me wrong, I don't have any belief that the role is present in this game. But it's possible, cuz the role isn't listed as being "confirmed not in the game".
True, it's possible, but... seriously. How many roles have been seen in SWF Mafias so far? From all the roles, would you instantly assume it is a role that has been seen in only two games so far, all hosted by the same guy, and one of them being a joke? Furthermore, not only he assumed the role exsited, but he gave it a scum flavor instantly.
It is 100% impossible that it would be present in this game
While I do believe it too, how can you be so sure?
The fact that you think whatever conspiracy theory pops into your head is "the only possible explanation" just proves how little you've thought it through.
Him trying to play "the dumb card" doesn't make him scum, it just means he's trying not to get lynched. Scum aren't the only guys who want to avoid the rope. Townies want to live too, because if they die, the scum get that much closer to winning.
But, if he wanted to survive (and get town points again), wouldn't it be much easier to just admit his mistake and carry on? Trying to hold water in an already flawed enough theory isn't any better than admitting it is flawed.
Yeah, I was absent during a good while. I should have notified anyway, but you guys didn't seem to miss me
@Tako, given current game status so far, name three players likely to have chatterbox restrictions. I can see clearly three of them. Does that make them all scum?
