I think Brawl is too noob-friendly, very slow paced compared to melee. I have played melee for years, and when i started trying Brawl, I was immediately dissapointed by how slow and sluggish the controls felt, especially in the air.

and whats with this randomly tripping and wiping out on the ground?

Not to mention none of the wave dashing that made Melee such a hit in MLG.

I guess Nintendo is really trying hard to stick to their auidence of "softcore kiddie" gamers...
