It matters if you're European or not. The Wiis use different formats for reading from an SD card. If you're from US, EU, or JP, the folder naming is different. Check the FAQ in the first post in this thread and you'll find your answer.

I read the Read me file that i downloaded with the stage studio. and followed this staps:

In order to load and play your stage in Brawl, you have to
put the stage file into a specific folder on your SD card:
US : X:\private\wii\app\RSBE\st\
PAL: X:\private\wii\app\RSBP\st\
***: X:\private\wii\app\RSBJ\st\
(Replace 'X' with the drive letter of your SD card reader):

but stil..... my wii can't find my stages.

it can find my SD crad, as well as a normal brawl stage (made with stage builder on brawl) but it can't find my stages made on the pc.

I think I did everything correct, but it just doesn't work.

anybody an idea what i'm doing wrong, or why it doesn't work?

(sory if I'm beeing anoying. I just want those stages.)

What did you name the file? Was it named like the ones you built using the Brawl Stage Studio?

It happened to me before as well, but everything worked fine afterwards so it wasn't a big deal.

Hey, would there anyway to make is so you can rotate objects in 90 degree increments?

I would really like to make a smooth stage instead of just blocky.(I want to rotate triangle piece and put them inbetween square piece to make a smooth connection under the stage.

Thanks

PS: Awesome Program BTW!

[SAVE] Unhandled Memory Exception Error

Hello sorry for butting into this conversation, :ohwell: but I'm butting in on this conversation. I was making a few stages for my friend when as I saved my satage, this error message appeared: 13 Oct 2009 21:01:03 - [SAVE] Unhandled Memory Exception Error. I have no clue what this means, but I automatically came here to look for help. Thanks, bye.

Actually, you aren't butting in. It only seems that way because so many people post stupid questions here. And yes, they have been adequately flamed.

You should check the first post or the readme to see where you can send your error messages. That way Xane can see if it's a bug in the program, or can tell you how to fix it.

I know it's been awhile since Xane has replied here or updated anything, but I still insist this topic should be stickied. It's a tool that many people download. It should be available to be spotted immediately. Just a suggestion, and sorry for the bump.

It's already in the Workshop Welcome Wagon isn't it? Surely the new people would look there first and be able to find it.

What exactly does the option to place units outside of the boundaries do? I see that I can place certain very large objects a little further down and to the left, but what about to the right and up? Is it possible to do more than I am seeing?

EDIT: also, I've seen a stage that had impossibly large units in it. Is that possible with this program? If not, is there another editor that can do that?

The problem with placing them over where you want to place them is that it ****s up the game. Period. So Xane simply allows placing them over the boundaries where it doesn't cause any errors.

Also, concerning stretching:

Good things come to those who wait. Maybe it's not as easy to do with an editor. Maybe Xane has to go through a lot of trouble to implement it. I have no doubts that he'll come around with it. I stopped waiting. It's like Xmas. If you wait, the days seem like forever. If you don't count the days, it comes around really fast. Just wait.

1) Kudos on elaborating without actually answering any questions.
2) It's spelled, "Please"
3) No, not really. We'd need more info to compare it to other situations or make a proper bug report.

Click on the big red download button.

Extract the Stage Studio folder to somewhere on your computer (you need a program like Winrar or 7Zip to do this).

Open the Stage Studio folder and double click on the Stage Studio application.

You should be good to go.

If you did all of that and it still doesn't work, try updating your Microsoft .NET framework to 3.5

You could always ask Google and figure it out yourself. Think of what your question is, then look for the answer.
(Hint: Microsoft made it)

What I would like to see:
- Parts can be scaled without constraining proportions. ex. standard block 1 unit tall and 6 units wide.
- Parts can be positioned in increments 1/2 the standard grid size.

It would also be nice to be able to modify the blast zones (there's too much space beneath the floor) but I think that can be done with BrawlBox.

Just suggestions.

1: I'm sure it's possible. We just need to wait. Or use a hex editor.

2: Only whole increments. From what I understand, all the blocks are in a table of contents in order. They have no real information on where they are on the map.

3: Probably something you can do with RAM.

Controling Character Spawns

It's great to be able to place player's spawn points with Stage Studio, but what about where they spawn from after a death(their respawns)? I'm sure many people have had the problem of players respawning on top of a structure they are not otherwise able to reach, or perhaps even see.

What, if any, tricks are there for controlling respawn points?
Anyone?

The only one I am aware of is placing a row of spikes on top of a structure you don't want players to spawn above.

Hey, is there a way to customize the background beyond the original 3?

also, is there a way to load different "decorations" to it? like the mushrooms and stuff.

You have to do that with texture hacks, not with the program itself.
