This argument is simple.
I hate Meele. You hate Barlw.
Lets find what makes each other's game look worse so we can look better.
I'm not going to say I'm trolling about this argument because the last time I did say something like that sarcastically, I got infracted for it.
The truth is: it doesn't matter. In 5-10 years, none of us are going to be playing either of these games anymore.

I don't play melee to play it how it was desgined to be played. I play it because of it's metagame and how intense the gameplay is. L-canceling adds to that intensity. One of the differences between competitive players and casual players are the advanced techniques we use to seperate ourselves from the casual player. I look at the game as having two modes. Casual and competitive. Removing L-canceling would only make it easier for casual gamers to do things that competitive players worked hard to learn.

Did you not read my post? I said I don't hate brawl. In fact I play it occasionally with my brother. It's fun sometimes but it's more of a casual game for me. I really have no problem with the game.

Yep, Brawl is terrible. In fact, all video games are. Why don't you get out and do something with your life?

to be honest, compared to most other fighting games, Smash is pretty poorly designed to be a competitive fighter. Melee was a mistake and was the best suited out of the three, but looking at every mechanic of Smash in comparison again to most other fighting game, it is not very well suited at all. but, Smashboards is proof that regardless, people will just play what they want, and there's not too much wrong with that, I guess.

Like you said Smash is different from other fighting games. It's unintentional competitiveness is actually one of the main reasons i love this game. I used to play this game when I was a kid and I loved it. I played this game for years. Used to think me and my friends were like the best in the world (As I'm sure most of you thought at one point). Then I saw DBRs combo videos and I fell in love with the game all over again.
When Brawl came out I played it like most people. Even after realizing I preferred Melee I still bought a copy of it. I've had a few good times with Brawl. The thing is I can't go very long without turning on items in that game....
Edit- I know my post makes no sense. Just rambling.

Samus' Up B on the ground and in the air.
Get up attacks have some invulnerablility start up frames.
Start up of Pika's up b is invincible, but there's no attack.
Rest has invulnerability frames on the attack.
