I've seen hacks of Kirby's hammer being Ganon's sword and such.

I wanted to make Lucas' stick into Toon Link's sword for a texture.

Lucas' stick is 3 polygons and so is Toon Link's, so I thought with some vertice hacking and model replacement I could do it.

But I don't know how to "switch" the model in the first place.

Could someone help guide me?

I was never helped... Could someone help me this time, please?

Just take the File Patch code from the GCT and use only that.

Create your own codes with codemanager.

It's easy to do.

edit: learned something new today - if you have a lingering copy of a gct in any directory of the SD card, Gecko might choose to run it instead of the one you want.

found this after repeatedly trying different codesets, then discovering it got stuck on one of them, even if I had no gct in the codes folder at all

That happened to my wii i had to uninstall homebrew then send it into nintendo to get it fixed.
But if they find homebrew on it they most likely wont fix it.
But if they cant fix they send u a new wii and you get an extra year warranty
Btw the fix price is like $80

Okay, so I'm having some trouble with music replacements.

All of my music replacement have ALWAYS worked, and have been a no-brainer for me.
However, recently I've been having an issue where one of my songs will not loop correctly.
What happens is it plays normally for the first loop but when it gets to the next loop point it starts playing a different song I have replaced out of tune and all jumbled.

The weird thing is it's only been happening with this one song in the third slot for Final Destination.
I even tried moving it to the second slot and it had the same problem.
I also tried changing the actual song it replaces and no luck either.

After that I thought maybe it was a problem with the file itself so I downloaded a new song from the Custom Music Hub,
and STILL NO WORKIE!!

Unless perhaps that I got 2 non-working files in a row, I have noooo idea what's wrong.
They play fine and loop perfectly in BrawlBox if you're wondering.

I had this theory that maybe the song you replace over must be a larger file than then one you put over it.

Well, any ideas? Help? Funny stories?

Wow, thank you!
That seriously fixed it!

I had a feeling I was having issues with my SD card. I may of unsafely removed it once or twice.

Hey i was wondering what if you make a brstm with only one channel in it will the game still be able to read it or will it make it rage and freeze?
EDIT: It works just fine :D

Wii freezes when I press "Start" at the CSS and it goes into the stage menu. It even makes my WiiMote continuously rumble! Any ideas as to what's wrong?
Same freeze I get when I change labels for the CSS.

I think the common5 file or whatever you're changing is incompatible somehow.

I'm relatively new to hacking, so please forgive my lack of knowledge.

I have gotten BRAWL+ to work as I lack the homebrew channel.

Will I be able to hack in the other characters, such as Waluigi?

Will I be able to hack in other stages, like the Big Captain Falcon?

I haven't the slightest idea how to even go about doing those, and I haven't found a good FAQ on how to insert your own chars/stages into Brawl+.

I am having trouble with the hitbubbles on three of Luigi's moves. His down angled forward smash, his dash attack, and his aerial down b.

The down-forward smash hit bubble stays out too long
The initial attacks in the dash attack do now show up, only the final hit.
For aerial down b, the initial hit and final hit are shown with hit bubbles but the other attacks in.between are not. However the grounded down b works just fine.

If anyone can help me here is the .pac file i have been working on

Always know that GFX tab is only for adding Timers, Sword Glows and Terminate Sword Glow actions, nothing else :p

You mixed up Asynchronous and Synchronous Timers :p

The initial attacks in the dash attack do now show up, only the final hit.
It actually looks like it's going to a Sub Routine, you don't need to add it in the GFX.

Go to the "Sub Routines" tab and type in 10E98, then hit "Go". You'll see:
Code:
Offensive Collision:
Offensive Collision:
Synchronous Timer: frames=1
Terminate Collisions:
Return:
Take note of the two offensive collisions, which you're going to turn into Sword Glows.

Go back to the Sub Actions tab, then the GFX.

For every "Sub Action 0x10E98" you have, REMOVE it and replace it with the two sword glows, followed by the "Terminate Sword Glow" effect.

For aerial down b, the initial hit and final hit are shown with hit bubbles but the other attacks in.between are not. However the grounded down b works just fine.
Again, you mixed up Asynchronous and Synchronous timers, plus remove the RA-Bit stuff. You also forgot to subtract 1 frame in some of the timers as well.

Alright, I hope this is the right place to post this...

I saw Dantarion's video where he has a bunch of SSE stages and stuff using his alternate file loader. I want that. Only problem is, I guess I suck. I can't get the code working, no matter what I do. More importantly, I am really lazy and wouldn't know where to restart.

SO! Does anyone have a fully-functioning code that will allow me to have more stages, maybe button activated, but preferably with their own icons? I know there ARE ways to do it, but does anyone have the codes already done that I can just put straight into my gct and use?

Sorry I'm such a leech, but this has been such a headache for me.

Ok, i was able to fix the down b, thanks for your input Bionic Sonic.

Now all i need to know is, what are the asynchronous and synchronous timers are. I think it is the 00020100 and the 00010100 timer but i am not sure. If you could clear it up for me, that would be great.

Get BrawlBox which can be found here
Next the Falcon Destination stage is found here download it and save it to X: private/wii/app/RSBE/pf/stage/melee
For Waluigi you need a CSS code that has the alloys in it since i can't seem to find the the latest brawl+ txt file you'll have to wait on waluigi for a bit unless you want to run a older version of brawl+ with the code

^ YES IT WORKED!!! Awesome, thank you. Mr Chuy, you are my hero.
And it's not that big of a deal, but is there a way for me to edit the random stages? It now disregards my random stage select options. Again, not a huge deal, but slightly annoying.

Mr Chuy, your also my hero, i was too lazy to do those codes when they were released and they were conveniently right there, thanks for that.

But to my question.

I recently obtained a USBgecko device, and i understand basic functions of it. the one thing i don't understand though is the primary reason i bought the thing. i would like to know how to find the offsets of the files themselves and Import files from my computer into the wii's memory. if that's not how im supposed to do it, can someone who has one explain it to me?

this site might yield more answershttp://wiird.l0nk.org/forum/

They deal more directly with the functions of the usb gecko

ok total noob question for you guys. and i'm sure this has been answered many times but here goes.

i can't figure out how to edit effects. i have a roy texture for marth and a megaman zero texture for link and i want to edit their slash effects to match their costumes. i've already downloaded the pacs for each but i don't know where on my sd card to place them or what to name them.

and also is there a way i can assign the effect to a certain color or will the effect be on all of link's/marth's different colors?

Put them in like you would for textures.

FitLink.pac and/or FitLinkMotionEtc.pac

They affect all costumes.

Did you make sure the names of the files are correct?
Ya i figured it all out. Thanks for all your help.

But now i have a new problem :/....

They both have the new animations but now link moves like he did in normal brawl i.e. No l-canceling, crappy jumps etc. Is there any way i can mix the two files so that i can have the z-saber AND play as a link thats worth a ****?

Does editing the MiscData cause this as well? It still freezes... And I noticed that the common5 says "Zaro Suit Samus". Could that be the issue?
Yah.

It says Zaro Suit Samus. I'm going to try and fix it now.
