Note: In losers brackets- Endrees didn't fight Gusteev a 2nd time...
there was some confusion or something- and Endrees was passed on as "lost"
but again, the match never happened.
So, in discovering this- he played again lmnz.
(assuming if he won against Gusteev, he'd fight him).
The end result was Endrees losing to lmnz,
so whether he beat Gusteev a second time or not-
the result would likely still be the same.

Unbelievable- anyways here's the information

In regards to custom stages.
Yes, I will allow custom counterpick stages,
but they must be APPROVED by me first-
so if you're bringing one, be sure to come early to show me.

If this gets out of hand, I'll take it out-
but to be honest, I doubt most any of you are going to pick these,
but I'm promoting it because I think its interesting.

If you want to increase the probability of your stage going through-
1) Bring it on a SD card (I'll love you to death)
2) Keep it small! (it can have a lot of recovery, but relatively- fight zones should be small)
(avoid making another New Pork City/Hyrule Castle)
3) Keep it simple!
4) NO WALLS

The way you'll be able to tell its a CP-
once approved, it'll have a "CP_" at the beginning of its name.
Again, if this gets out of hand- I'll probably end it.
But again, I don't think a lot of u are going to take advantage of this- so I'm not worried.

I have 3 custom counterpicks for you guys to try out if ya interested.

the first- "Stigma"

that's basically the stage.
o= 1by1 box
- = fall thru platform
O=3by3 box

In other words- Final Destination, with some soft platforms.
This means characters can do aerials right out of the ground,
but one must also be careful not to accidently fall thru,
while doing a down smash.

the second- "Mask"

What's with the counterpicks?

If a counterpick seems questionable-
its because, plain and simply,
I want to see what happens.
A lot of people for example are worried about D3's chain grabs.
In a small stage like Mario Kart I ***** CPUs.
In Bridge of Eldin- I had a harder time because it was so big...
so I'm skeptical...
so I'm curious as to how people turtle- if they so choose,
and possibly locating counters.

@Nate: you worried about the prize money? You must feel pretty confident then eh?
This is very early in Brawl- I'm keeping the entry fee low- while making sure I'm fundraising decently for the club.

In other news, I'm playing with the idea of making Wario Ware a counterpick.
With items off- you don't get the mushroom/star as items for winning a mini game.
There's still the issue of being a walk off stage- but I haven't played it enough to see how
much of an issue that may be.

I understand ur concern MarthPwnzer,
but as I've mentioned in my reasoning for why Bridge of Eldin-
I have a harder time chain throwing on that stage because its so big-
so I can't imagine it would be any easier for any other opponents-
in sense this is a "prove it to me" challenge.

As for camping/turtling,
again.. I want to see what people do.
I've never been one to turtle-
at most I camp for 3 seconds-
if you don't come for me I come for you.
So I want to see what people do-
and, if at all, there really is a way to counter it.

The laser lock on Falco isn't that easy to get on some one.
There not just going to sit there and let you smack them into it...
however if it happens a billion times and cost tournaments over and over and over again-
then I might worry about it.

As for wolf and fox- I'm not sure what you are refereing too-
shining? I haven't seen it yet.
Rather- I haven't seen it used in a manner that can't be overcome with precaution.

I can play around with the ideas and concepts all day,
but in the end I will not be satisfied until I see it, as an invincible strategy, happen in my very own tournament- until then, I'm open to the possibility of it being countered.

This is also another reason why the entry fee is so low-
consider it an investment into a research project,
while at the same time you get to practice in a Brawlish environment.
I wouldn't have players put so much on the line for the sake of winning in such
a new and unpredictable playing field.

Besides- if an opponent counterpicks one of those stages and beats you-
you can counterpick a different stage. Its best 2 out of 3 after all.

As for stages like Delfino and Castle Siege,
they shift. Reducing the potential and likelihood of such a strat dominating a drastic amount of the time.

I've spent 2-3 weeks thinking and researching about what stages I wanted as counterpicks.
Thinking about it more wouldn't do me any good- I want to see what happens.

This sounds enticing, but I might go to Agoura Hills because they're scheduled to have Melee and Brawl.

I don't mind the stages, etc. It's too new of a game to really have a counter pick and neutral yet anyways. (except the ones that are clearly banned)

The only thing that I want you to look over is the 5 min time limit. I think that many matches will end up in sudden death if you make it like this. With 3 stock per person, that means about 1 min and 40 second per stock (for both person), I'm sure we can agree that brawl matches last longer than melee and in melee, we have about 2 min per stock (4 stock, 8 min).

Just pointing that out.

edit: make it 6 mins and we're good to go. That way it's 2 min per stock like melee. Bad reasoning but I never go over 6 min usually. But I have reach like 5:30 before in matches where I pick sheik and they pick a heavy char.

heh, if it really is a problem in matches, I promise to up it.
But the key thing is to control camping with the limited time.
I don't want people camping for 6-7mins or even longer.

wow. There's a difference between complaining and pointing it out. All of us are pointing it out that through our experiences from playing this game, 5 minute is not enough to finish a match. If a host never listen to the participant then the tournament will not work out. It's like telling a store to not listen to their customer and do what they want.
