Brawl Demo Character Select Screen Revealed!

While this is definitely not the final character select screen, at least we probably know now who is playable for the demo next week!

By the way, who is the character in the lower right? I can't tell...


Translation of article: Basically, this guy says he thinks Brawl feels very similar to Melee. You can pick up one of the veterans and be able to play them immediately. He also says that the smash ball comes out just like a normal item comes out, and that for the wiimote + nunchuck setup, the jump button is the up key on the D pad (thank god for customizable controls).

Just saw it somewhere else. The chars are Mario, DK, Link, Samus, Fox, Pikachu, Diddy, Pit, MK, Ike, Peach, Yoshi, Sonic and Bowser. I'm happy that the "Melee"-style comes again here!

If I use Wiimote/Nunchuk controls, I'm remapping jump to down on the D-pad. Then it would exactly match my prediction for the control method (from before the various control options were announced). That is, if my other assumptions on the controls are correct.

Probably random. Also, we should keep in mind that this is the DEMO CS Screen. Characters such as Kirby and ICs being out are most likely due to it being a demo screen. ICs and Zelda, if I remember correctly, weren't playable at the Melee's demo either.

Uh... this is just a character select screen made for the Demo. You can't use it to determine the number of characters... heck, Ice climbers and and Kirby aren't even on it yet...

most definatly fake, captain falcon's image is the one he had from melee.

well i mean the characters aren't even 3d models, they are just things taken off of box art and official nintendo art.

It's a demo.

They're only running a few characters to let people get the feel of the game. If they gave us the really highly-anticipated new characters, nobody would play as the old ones.

I'm hoping, from now until E for All, that Sakurai just gives us updates on the little things like these that were revealed in the trailer.

I wonder how long it will be before we get these stations in retail stores. If they put one in my local gamestop, I would never leave. Better yet, they should put it up for download on WiiConnect24.

I wasn't expecting so many characters to be available in the demo. The more the merrier, I guess. I just hope they trim down those character icons in the final build.
