I'm working on approving stuff.

TUK, how would I be able to upload to Youtube from the site? I wanna learn o.o
It's a php script that moosey made. The best bet would be to ask him to make a separate one for you, like he did for me.
It'd work like this:
http://www.brawlcustommusic.com/segtendo.php?song=2357&length=930
In this example, song #2357 would be extended for 15:30

Or, if you want it to loop 2 times with a 10 second fade out:
http://www.brawlcustommusic.com/segtendo.php?song=2357&loops=2&delay=0&fade=10

Here's exactly what the page says:
"This page takes 5 variables: song, length, delay, loops, and fade
Enter the like this: tuk.php?song=blah&length=blag&...
You can upload a video in one of two ways. If you specify the length variable,A video with that length will be uploaded. If you don't specify the length variable,You need to specify the delay, loops, and fade variables."

There is one thing that you may or may not want to do.
You will need to give moosehunter your YouTube/google password, because I'm assuming the password is involved in the PHP script as it needs to authorise your account, if that makes sense.

I'll post an example of what the page looks like after it's finished uploading a video:

So... What game would anyone wants to cover, BRSTM-wise ?
I have the Baten Kaitos Origins and FE: Path of Radiance original files. I just have to convert the rest this weekend.

I expect some TWEWY music mixed into there :bee:
I still have to play that game. Neku seemed pretty epic in the KH3D trailer, and I'm probably missing out on something great right now lol.

Moosey's already uploaded most of the soundtrack by now I reckon :D

Anyway, as I said, and when it's finished uploading, I'll copy what's on the page :D

I also want to extend Mario Kart 7 and the Phoenix Wright games cuz there's a sever lack of extended Phoenix Wright music videos.

You never played TWEWY? O_O
It's a damn good game.

So, I tried my hand at uploading to Brawl Custom Music, and I have to say... I don't know if I can even upload songs from cartoons or television series or even the Interwebs.

You know, because I don't know where they should fit.

Put them in the "Other" section of BCM, or if you have many of them, just create a new section for them if there isn't one already. :p

On another note, is it normal that I always find an "Error 404" when trying to reach my page on BCM ? O_O

I see... The same can be said for the "?autoplay" urls, because the song doesn't play automatically like it used to. Oh well, it doesn't hurt to press the Play button :p

The above example uploads the BRSTM for 2 loops + 10 second fade out, with a total length of 10:25 (the actual loop is over 5 minutes, hence why it's over 10 minutes with 2 loops).

Also, I approved that kickass thing without even listening to it. Is that bad?

@GaryCXJkOak : The few songs you have uploaded are okay in terms of loop-point, but the volume is quite high for this one, which makes it sounds crackly. Also, are those songs looping normally in-game ? If yes, then just set the loop-point type to "Normal" instead of "Custom", which is more reserved for custom looped TV Show's jingles or songs that aren't supposed to loop naturally, like this song or remixes of game musics.

Since it's your first time uploading on BCM, I thought the above would be good for informations :)

For the retro course rips of MK7, they sound like they were just taken from their respective game, so you don't hear any engine sounds.

They're not. There are noticable differences in some of the retro songs and their original versions. Quality wise for a start.

I just took a listen to the V4 rip from FFShrine.
The retro tracks seem to have been ripped from Youtube.

So, that means we have no proper rips of the retro tracks straight from the game.

Well, if you say that they sound slightly different than their originals, then that means we have no proper rips of the retro courses yet.

EDIT: I eat my own words.

Or they're very quiet.

I'm recording them in Goldwave so I don't have to wait to download the extensions.

I don't think I'll convert the retro tracks since people start the tracks later than normal -.-

I haven't changed the music other than converting them to 32000 Hz, so that is actually the original volume (as it is in the OST, and I assume either the soundtrack compiler or the developer has normalized the music already), and no, originally they aren't exactly looping, since the game was made in Adventure Game Studio. As far as I know, the game doesn't have any loop points whatsoever, and so I customly picked a few loop points.

On the point of volume, I do have to say that in the game itself the music *can* overpower the voice track, but that doesn't occur often, mostly since the music just gets cut off by the voice track anyway. In order to keep the integrity of the original music, I do as less damage on the music as possible, meaning, if the music is too soft, I will correct that, but if the music is too loud (which I didn't really hear when using earphones anyway), I can do nothing about that, as it would always result in loss of data.

There was this old rumor where Brawl would only accept BRSTMs that are 32000 Hz, or at leat would play them without distortion. That, and it has the perfect combination of good sound quality and low filesize.

Also, I'm here at a dilemma. Cartoon Network Racing plays music from the beginning to the end (and due to its crappy engine, the sound doesn't even loop properly). The same goes for the Powerpuff Girls Race 1 song. However, when I do this, the loop sounds pretty horrible, and if I only shift the loop point to the right, it would loop perfectly. It's so far the only song with the issue, as the rest plays perfectly when looped.

EDIT: Should have posted the dilemma also.

Should I use the original loop or use a modified loop point?

Is there silence at the beginning of the songs, or at least the files you have for them? Removing that might help with the looping.

No, it's an intro that goes "Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup". Bypassing that part makes the loop a little bit better (although, as I have now tested, a bit out of place).

EDIT:

Original - Alternate loop point

And yes, the music quality is that horrible. I even had to normalize it to -5 dB, to make it at least audible during a brawl.

The alternate loop point is better, but it's slightly off, and the waveform looked like it would be too quiet to hear well in-game. Where did you get your source file from?

Edit: And that was for the PS2 version?

Yes, that was for the PS2 version. Mind you, the original was way too soft, however, if I normalized it to 0 dB, it would have been too loud overall.

Hmmm, where did you get the sound file from? Sounds like someone tried recording it with a microphone.

Yay!

Unfortunately these were the only tunes I could get or that can be gotten from the ISO that isn't a stream... well that we know how to get. Moosey did give me MIDIs from SMG, so I assume he's able to actually get the sequences out. The question is when? :D :D :D
Wait, he can get sequences? That's epic if he can. :awesome:

But who's going to make you a moderator?
And are you good at spotting any bad loops? Pops, clicks, etc, or blatantly obvious errors?

I think Moose is only one who could make me one, and yeah those errors are easy to pick out. I'm much more aware of quality,, volume, etc. now too.
