I just watched the match, a few things.

Don't dsmash so much, CCing what the Fox does into dsmash is actually not that good. Drephen influenced the Sheik community too much it seems x_x. CC to grab is a lot lot better.

I think a lot of Sheik comes down to getting grab openings and then big combos off of them. Dash around the stage a bit more and use more ftilts to get grab openings instead of dash attack and dsmash. They can work but her ftilt is basically the most magical thing ever and will assist you in almost everything LOL.

Dair can be used from the ledge or occasionally when you're falling after someone hit you into the air but just don't become too predictable with it. You can actually tech chase with it on platforms as well but I question this because it's a lot easier to just waveland onto a platform and reaction tech chase imo. But if you can tech chase on a plat with dair you can lead it to other stuff which may be a lot better than getting the grab on the plat it just depends, you kinda have to become comfortable with it though.

I can never put what to do with Sheik into words very well because doing stuff with her has kinda become instinctual for me now. I would advise watching new sets of Lucien's Sheik for really good Sheik, I like Lucien's sheik A LOT and i think u could learn a lot from it.

I honestly didn't watch yet but to answer that when to dair question:

The most obvious one is against techs, you can do like a fair/dash attack/ftilt that may ground opponents if they try to CC it at mid-high percents then sometimes they mash an attack or grab and automatically do a get-up attack. You can dair that.

Or you can hit people onto a platform then dair chase instead of waveland grab, which helps in KOing at high percents if grab combos may not get the job done.

Or sometimes you can mix it up after ftilts. You don't have to go straight into fair but you could Dair then fair or.. w/e

Just a few scenarios... well the ones that come to mind off the top of my head.

Will watch later though =3

Its a combo ender, why would u want to stop damaging someone prematurely

The only situations i like it for, is when you are tech chasing and they roll towards the edge a downsmash is better then a regrab almost all of the time since they can di the Downthrow and sweetspot doublejump(thank you kk for that).

I also like it when you backthrow spacies and they jump and airdodge on, its usefull cause it hits them back off and they have no jump, then they dead.

Eric you need to shuiffle more moves

doing dsmash at edge depends on % though.

when you're talking about doing it is what i typically think of at higher %'s and if that's the case, it's even better to just dash attack -> slap.

Dash Attack Slap is countered by DI away.

D-smash at the edge at 0-10 can sometimes multi-hit because of survival DI in which case it's ridiculous.

Yeah true but both dash attack and dsmash create the same scenario with dash attack having the possibility for a better outcome if they DON'T DI away. That's why I say it's better.

And yeah on the 0-10 thing, for sure.

Against Jiggs does CC down-tilt work against her aerials?
You don't know how many times I've tried this...

I want to say yes and no but more of no. It can work but it gets very annoying. You can sometimes get d-tilt -> grab and especially more so if they dont DI the dtilt.

That matchup in general is basically BS though because of being able to util -> rest you at ****ing ZERO. Not to mention that Sheiks punish for Jiggs' missed rest is bad compared to Falcon and Fox.

I've honestly thought of just switching to Zelda and sweetspotting her fair when jiggs misses a rest because I think it might be better >_________>

Dash Attack is, at least in my experience, worse against good people than D-smash when they go to the edge because more stuff counters it.

At lower-medium percents they can hold down and not get launched, which can be bad for all sorts of reasons. At higher percents, DI away will simply not let the moves combo.

D-smash has nice consistency.

Switching to Zelda to punish Rest is stupid.

I was joking about the Zelda thing mostly but if you think about it, depending on the stage, it could actually work decently. If Puff misses a rest on YS and shes at about 60% and at the middle of the stage, dthrow slap wont kill. Zelda's fair/bair might...LOL. You'd be surprised at how strong that move really is.

I just don't like dsmash I guess. Though I think it would be just as useful to mix it up between things.

I think you'd need some WC DI for Zelda's Fair to KO a stationary, Resting Puff at 60 in the middle of the stage.

It's not like she doesn't know what's coming.

Although I guess it's applicable at like 60% when she's at the very edge of the stage on Yoshi's Story. Kick is probably stronger than full charge D-smash and other stuff, and being at the edge might kill her off the top. Maybe.

Puff is pretty resistant to Sheik CCing into anything because of how her duck and range work against us.

It sucks, but that's just how it is.

i know.

he had such confidence in the dsmash that he willed it to work where other nonbelievers could not

Why would you favor dair over uair or fair for platform tech chase situations? You can stay safe using uair or fair for you're not committing yourself to the platform (or getting above it).

Also the foxes seemed very sloppy in those matches, and I suck at this game so I have no critique.

I still feel like staying out of the way of any of their hit boxes in the process makes more sense.
What about dair makes it better for comboing?

the move does more stun with less KB

you hit it as you land so you have less air time so you can action immediately

it's better for follows after like 40-60% depending on character if you can hit it without it being cced or whatever

it's probably her best combo move if you can hit it cleanly
