Come one, come all. To the Blast Processing Cinemax Theater.

Here we'll be putting together various videos of Sonic for us to watch. And I'll keep them as organized as possible. I can also critique your videos if you would like that.

When you do post new videos, try to keep them as recent as possible. If a new version of P:M is put out, then I'll archive the older videos and we'll start our library fresh again.

So okay. Let's go. Post em up.

Nah. I'm trying to keep this thread 2.5 and above. Sonic changed so much from 2.1 to 2.5 that 2.1 videos wouldnt be useful.
No worries. Knowing me I'll likely bust out Sonic one day. Won't be anything super fancy I'm sure, but I can at least represent the Brawl metagame with my own style if it works.

Then again, that's what Charizard's for. He's my anti-spacy now. :D

Nice Matches Neko!
What I noticed at 1:33 you hit him with down B and cancelled it with shield.
Maybe you could've jc grab him in that situation. I haven't tested it, it just came to my mind watching your videos (there was another situation like that in the rob match iirc)

Good to watch your videos tho. I realized I play totally different. I need to steal some of those spin tricksies. All I do most of the time is grab uthrow uair [...] up B uair ^^'

Ah. That. You can't JC Grab out of spin charge since jumping out of spin charge makes you go into spin jump, which as you know, doesn't have a jump squat, so there is nothing to cancel into a grab.

I actually have some videos that I'm procrastinating on uploading lol.

And as for my playstyle, it needs a lot of work. I'm still very inexperienced compared to someone like Rat, Sethlon, or Wizzy.

Critique and advice would be awesome.

Be aware that I'm not trying to centralize my style off Down B over usage.

Ill be adding these to the OP tomorrow. Same with Wizzy's matches.

http://youtu.be/aRo_BCIvczY: 0:59, you could use Neutral B to edgeguard, you should use neutral B literally like every time Falco is offstage.

Also could of punished at 2:02, and 2:09 another neutral B if you jumped offstage as Falco was flying away.

At 2:25 after you U-throw Falco you could Side B right underneath him before he lands so he will be stuck in your Side B probably leading to getting him offstage leading to a neutral B.

I would recommend you just Side B more because it is amazing for getting spacies offstage. Also, I would still spindash more as this Falco doesn't expect you to do it much so you could take advantage of that.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZjtPX00hbII&feature=youtu.be: The Fox MU is almost the same really, since you can do basically all the same things. Just be aware of what Fox will do to you that Falco won't.

WATCH OUT for Up smash as you approach higher percents, I could tell this fox especially tried to up-smash you a lot especially on that first stock around 80%.

Also, sometimes when you neutral B Fox offstage you should do it twice due to Fox's better recovery than Falco.

1:33, out of Jab reset, remember that the get-up animation is slightly longer than the one in Melee, I like to slightly charge F-smash as they are getting up instead of grabbing so I think you should try F-smash.

1:58: If the Fox is good at punishing spin > wavedash down in front of shield, then wavedash down behind their shield as it is pretty safe. Wavedashing down in front of their shield is also a free shield grab for the opponent, luckily a lot of people aren't good at the Sonic MU yet but the Fox was good at punishing this so just spin right through the Fox's shield or wavedash behind it.

2:02, This is why I don't like approaching with Nair, it has no range. I mean, if it came out quicker it could potentially trade but that would be in Fox's favor more than yours so that's why I approach with Spin dash more.

Also, whenever you Dash attack, you could just side B instead because it comes out basically just as fast and has better results when it hits.

Might critique more later

nB isn't a sure-fire edgeguard because of how unreliable it can be. Also Falco/Foxes that know the MU also know to use shine stall, FFing, and DJ to avoid the HA. There have been so many matches where i try to HA, and i miss, despite the situation looking like the exact same situations where HA has actually worked.

Actually 2:02 is a perfect example of HA failing to hit when in other situations it would work for w/e reason.

Ftilt is super strong as it is right now, so it's just a lot less risky to use with just as great, if not greater reward on hit.

I do see what you're talking about when it comes to using side b to drag spacies off the stage more. I'll try to implement that into game game more.

2:02 didn't work because he was falling down and since he is Falco he fell down to fast for your HA to keep up. You should just delay your HA while he is falling since Falco's only option was to UP B after that.

Also delay your HA if you know they are going to shinestall.

And yea Side B is godlike.

I felt like there was too much emphasis on spinning, and that was really getting me wrecked in the first game, not to mention that Lucas DI is harder than I expected to internalize. Regardless of that, there wasn't much focus on Sonic's tilt game, as I was basically focussing on a redux version of my 2.1 Sonic, which had won the the same tournament a month or so back.

I still have little love for utilt, despite you(Wizzrobe) showcasing some neat tricks with it at APEX. I guess I just haven't internalized the new tricks Sonic has...

But yeah, I hadn't played 2.5 Sonic outside of trolling a Charizard my friend uses until that day, he's surprisingly a lot more fun than I gave him credit for after the changes from 2.1.

Actually, would you like to do it, Wizzrobe? Or anyone else? I can give you control of the OP if you'd like, as long as you promise to keep it updated fairly regularly.

Alright guys, another tournament, another chance to show off the Sonic I've been ******* around with.

Super [Sonic/Sheik] vs. root [Sheilda]
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DxygNZ_oZ-E
My first match of the tournament with my Sonic, but he's a pretty accurate representation of what I can do with him right now. Needs a lot more mixups, and I've already read a few things on the board in the last few days that'll probably boost my game a little.

Super[Sonic/Sheik] vs. ,...,(Punctuation Man) [Bowser/Sheik/Donkey Kong]
http://youtu.be/YRmMjMAOM8A
Sonic is in Game 1 and Game 3. This is Loser's Semi's, where the TO had us play Best of Five. I certainly wasn't complaining. Probably my best games in the tournament.

Super[Sonic/Sheik] vs. Red[Zelda, Sheik] (the stream incorrectly still has 'Benji' down)
http://youtu.be/EB8rhCPERQo

Slayertokey [Ivysaur] vs. Super [Sheik/Mario/Sonic]
http://youtu.be/HFC9eHsVjJg?t=12m22s
Slayertokey really got in my head when we played before, and he's a better player for it. Just check out that first stock. But hey, I think I've learned how to DI Dthrow now.

What to do better in the Sonic match:

At 12:38-12:41 Don't forgot about neutral B, this is a great move in this situation because it brings you toward your opponent and it lets you recover without having to use Up B or get punished for using your Down B like what was happening. Also, Neutral B comes out fast so you can't really react to it, you usually have to read it. Since you don't use it much he won't try to read it by throwing out an attack.

15:26, you could of done Spin > Spin Jump > instant nair, example of that is at 0:42 in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OzBN...d9fjbJNuSY_CCjKUIcTav9F&feature=results_video (This works on all characters). You should learn to do this because it is a guaranteed hit (unless they shield obviously)

Mm, yes, I keep forgetting how awesome SDJ>Nair is. I'm sure I use it in some of my other videos, but I still have this Brawl mindset where I have to keep moves fresh when I'm using Sonic.

And the recovery shenanigans... oof, yeah, you're right. I use it from time to time bit, while I disagree that it's too quick to react too, it would have been a lot better option than what I had done.
