Short Hop, wait a bit, then press b twice. If you just short hop and mash b then both the lasers will go over their head.

Please check the stickies next time before making a new thread.

SHDL can be used anytime in battle when you are properly "spaced" (I am using that word as you can use it for many different things at different distances away from you). Normally used whenever their is a good deal of distance between you and your opponent to force an approach from them or yourself to approach with. It can be used when someone is off stage to gimp there 2nd jump and cause them to mess up. But generally it is avoided to use when your opponent is directly inside your attack range normally at a jab or Ftilt in length. It can also be timed correctly on a falling opponent to stun them into one of your attacks when you fire off the 2nd laser.

Best time to use SHDL is when the opponent is falling. Using it almost guarantees hitting a boost upsmash which is our best kill move. Learn how to boost smash.

laser, laser, sliding upsmash. win

He was answering the actual question though, in a serious manner to boot. Some of us Falco boarders are too sarcastic sometimes. The ol' blue bird must have rubbed off on us!

Anytime your spacing will let you laser without getting punished for it, fire a laser. Also, when you're trying to do silent laser -> boost smash.

Against ROB.

Seriously.

Out of 115 lasers attempted (not counting throws), 38 landed.

D1 had about 33% accuracy in this match.

D1 dealt an estimated 80-90% damage from lasers alone.

90% damage isn't bad at all, is it?

I remember those days...I took weegee(good luigi player) to 200% with just lasers and phantasms. That's when I dedicated myself to make my falco a non-campy one.

you forgot the mandatory spot dodge that comes before the Dsmash

you could be falling down onto them after using your UpB and they would still spot dodge first then Dsmash you

Lol that's so true. I've always wanted to drill holes in ROB players' skulls.

During opponent recoveries, your approaches, making some space for yourself. Approaching it's sometimes better to SH single laser, because with a double laser the opponent can easily tell the second laser is coming.
